I spoke to the nurse at my GP surgery who checked I knew about folic acid and what I couldn't eat then said to phone again at 8 weeks to book in with midwife. She was really excited and congratulated me loads but then I'm registered with the student health centre and it doesn't sound like they get many pregnancies, particularly not planned ones!

thedogwalker · 11/10/2011 19:48

Vix I'm the same, I've taken the week off work and I'm awake by 5.30 am, what is that all about, I sooo need my sleep, but once I'm awake that's it. Sorry but I have no magic potion. I hope you find a solution soon. But it nornally goes away in the 2nd trimester, do fx for us both Smile
Kayzr Glad everything is better today, could have just been implantation bleeding, will keep fx that that is the end of that.
Hi Readysteady, we are dau date partners, welcome Smile. Welcome AnnaMaria when is your LO due, you need to add yourself to the list Smile and welcome Onlymy and welcome CeeeJ.
Well I'm now into my 5th week, I've already got ligament pains, also an annoying deep throbbing pain in my left abdomen area and have suffered some dizzy spells, felt like I was on a rocking boat, but no sickness, I didn't suffer morning sickness with DS so I am hoping to miss that out again. Apart from that no other symptoms, feel normal. Still fit into my size 10 clothes, but got my larger sizes ready for work so that I don't show too early, don't want to tell them anytime soon.
Hope everyone is feeling well, take care xx

thedogwalker · 11/10/2011 19:50

Readysteady that was supposed to read 'due date partners' do'oh Hmm

TeaandHobnobs · 11/10/2011 19:51

Hi ladies,

Is it ok if I just lurk for a while? I think I may have got a very faint +ve this morning, but I'm not convinced yet. I've had fairly nasty cramps the last few days, so keep thinking AF has arrived, but no sign! Should have been due 25th September, although I've not actually had a proper period since I came off the pill at the end of August, so I don't know what my body is up to!

I figure I can wait a bit more and test again? Hope I will be joining you for certain! If I am pregnant, it will be my first and due around 10 June - although not sure on dates, because of the above!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Im going to the doctor tomorrow to finally tell them (still havent managed to tell my dp yet, after 10 years of being together why is this like the hardest thing i ever have to say all of a sudden). I cant wait to find out bout the magic tablets, ill try anything at the moment, im sick of being in a zombie state all day long x

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/10/2011 21:26

Slightly productive day. Went to the GP to get forms to register and the secretary told me that the community midwives round here always recommend homebirths. Hmmmmm.

Very different place to where I have come from where they all refuse homebirths.

Not sure I want a homebirth though because it would stress me out having people come into my house and treading on my children's toys, tutting at the state of my toilet and being suspicious of the bedsheets......

OP posts:
Kayzr · 11/10/2011 21:33

Starlight I'm having a homebirth again all being well.

I think I might have to start going to bed earlier to try and get more sleep. Yawn!!!

greengoose · 11/10/2011 22:03

Evening lovely ladies! Its getting good and busy here now! Welcome and congrats to the newbies!

Starlight I also went from one birth where they said I had to be in hospital, not allowed waterbirth etc, then we moved and second time completely different, allowed waterbirth and MW v. much pushing for me to have homebirth.... I was worried about having MW in house, but she didnt care, helped clean the carpet where my waters broke!!Blush I guess there is no standard approach over the country, which is a bit odd really....
Im going to go to bed early, I have to have a pissy conversation with lazy illustrators who have ruined my artwork Angry in the morning, and Im so emotional (crazy) at the moment that Im worried I might cry.... not very good image wise.....
anyone actually been sick yet.... I just feel a bit green, but not too badly yet, is it a bit early?

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/10/2011 22:09

I've got pretty serious heartburn. I got that the last two times too and spent nearly every night for the whole of my pregancy with a rennie just sitting in my mouth.

Probably have rotten teeth soon.

Hello, is there room for one more? Due date 10th June, currently symptomless for a couple of days and fighting off paranoia! This would be DC2, DD1 is 13 months

Rrrrayray · 11/10/2011 22:27

Welcome newbies

Wiped out too.

Carty - pregnancy salts? Do tell more!

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 22:39

Oh Starlight don't mention heartburn I had it so badly with the boys. I lived on gaviscon Sad

Dalrymps · 12/10/2011 00:32

My indigestion has been terrible all evening.. Had 3 rennies and have brought them to bed. Last time I had to get 'peptac' from the dr..

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 05:51

Zzzzzzzzz I can't wait for a decent nights sleep.

Hi all,

TDW - that's great that we are due date partners, it's ok, I worked it out :-)
I feel more nervous this time around and can't remember when MS started last tim (it was very bad nausea only though). I am hoping it doesn't start, as I don't know how I will cope with DS!

Rrrrayray · 12/10/2011 08:37

Morning all.

Taking me longer at night to settle off to sleep. Finding a cup of camomile tea and some classical music helps.

Wide awake at 6am which is a pain when DD didn't get up until 7.50am.

No MS here either, which I was already riddled with last time!

Seems like so many of our due dates so close

Booked doctor appointment for Monday. Ah. All seems real.

Carty80 · 12/10/2011 08:40

Morning all, awful nights sleep but down to DD being very poorly with a chesty cold, can feel the germs getting into me! Panic setting in about having a newborn again and ill DC or myself being ill, argh!!

Welcome to the new joiners, congratulations!

Rrrray and vix tried to call sis in law yesterday but not in, will try again today and let you know. I am not sure what the pregnancy salts are, she just asked if I wanted treating homeopathically (spelling!) and I said yes. Will take folic acid too. She has trained for years to be able to treat people and is really busy in London. My DH is a nurse and he is not so sure about it all but it can't hurt.

HB here with DD and midwives didn't bat an eyelid at state of house. They emptied the birthing pool before they left and then my mum and sis came round and tidied everything else up. my sister complaining she got blood on her Uggs! All being well will have another HB this time round.

Had forgotten about the heartburn, god that is awful, not looking forward to that starting again.

Well, DD on my lap, am trying to do some work. I work from home in the evenings and am scared how long I will be able to do that for when the proper tiredness sets in but don't really want to quit it. Its just hard with 2 DC and then once in bed at 7 starting work. Try and get some done in the daytime so not so much to do at night.

greengoose · 12/10/2011 09:00

carty Your home birth sounded lovely! I also work mostly in the evenings at home, and am noticing I just cant be bothered anymore/ mind in other places... Im going to have to get my head in gear because i cant really stop, we need the income!
starlight and Dairymps sorry to hear about the indigestion.... I can still taste the gaviscon (swigged straight from the bottle) from my last pg! YUK. (although I did love it, because it stopped the fire feeling). Hoping it wont appear for a while, but also getting paranoid about lack of symptoms.....
We have phone man coming to fit a second line as DH has just started to work from home, so had to tidy the spare room last night..... its the one where we always close the door when we have visitors, Blush so it was HUGE job. Good to have it tidy though.....
Going out for coffee with a lovely friend this morning, going to tell her about BFP! Very excited!!

Slept really badly last night, very vivid dreams! No nausea these past few days, was really nauseas with DD1. Obviously a good thing, though it does make me paranoid!!

Kveta · 12/10/2011 09:29

I definitely want a hospital birth again. They keep the drugs in the hospital. I'm also about a 40 minute drive from the hospital I'd like to use, and 20 minutes from our closest one, which in my mind is too far. I had a horrendous 1st birth though, so will be wanting to discuss that with someone this time round to ensure it doesn't happen again. DH was muttering about perineal massage the other day though Blush because I tore quite badly last time and he doesn't want it to happen again. nor do I, obviously, but thought it was sweet that he mentioned it :o

I didn't have heartburn once with my last pg, but have had it twice already in the past fortnight, so although I'm hoping that's a one-off, I somehow doubt it! Felt very nauseous on waking today too, yipee.

oh, and on a non-pg note, there were 2 wasps in my bathroom this morning. 2!! The 1st was on the door as I went in, and nearly gave me a heart attack when I came nose to nose with it, and the second (once DH had dispatched the 1st, and I was getting ready for my shower) appeared as I stepped into the shower, so there wasa lot of squealing. I'm not fussed by most creatures, but wasps scare the bejeesus out of me as last time I was stung, my arm doubled in size! Would love to know what the stupid insects were doing in October in MY BATHROOM!

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 09:32

I've just made my booking in appointment for the 9th November when I'll be 8 weeks. I have the same midwife that I had with DS2 so really happy about that.

I feel really sick, I'm only 4 weeks so I don't know if its too early for MS.

millyv · 12/10/2011 09:36

Morning ladies!

Is it ok if I join your group? I'm all very new to this, but very excited - although to be honest I still can't believe it's happened even though we've been trying since March!

Currently I have no major symptoms but am having some very light cramps down below and absolutley shattered!

green thats the problem, just can't be bothered by the time the evening draws in. Hard to get motivated to sit in front of the pc and not just collapse on the sofa! Will keep going though at least until I can tell my boss and maybe he can try and let me work remotely during the day.

kveta don't blame you wanting the hospital birth. I had one with my first DS and it was great, epidural was fantastic. But we are only 2 mins from nearest hospital and I didn't have any tearing unlike you which sounds awful for you! Think it would make me want all the drugs if I suffered like that. Maybe you have a wasps nest somewhere? We have had a few in the house and the dog just barks and barks at them!

Not getting much work done, DD keeps wanting cuddles which is very nice but a bit bloody annoying!!

sparow · 12/10/2011 10:35

Hi Girls

Can i join you on the June journey? My DH and i have been TTC for over a year and were told we'd have to do IVF but we did it naturally!! We did all the tests and were just about to start a round when i found out. Crazy.

Hope i've added myself to the list correctly. I'm new to all this!
