I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Hi hockeymum, I am not sure yet but will do a test soon. Just thought I would introduce myself in case I was.

Norash · 22/08/2005 12:59

Hockeymum just out of curiosity, why are you going for an elective c-section?

Wow, I can't believe there's a May '06 thread!!!

I was on the May 2005 thread, just wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancies and hope you (and all future May 06ers) have a happy and healthy 8 months

hockeymum · 23/08/2005 08:35

Norash I'm HOPING that they offer me an elective c-section. I had an emergency c-section with my dd as even 3 weeks overdue and 24 hours of labour didnt get her to engage they thought at the time that my pelvis must be too small even though dd was not a whopper at all (7lbs). Hoping they wont make me go through big nightmares like last time and let me have an elective this time round, sure the surgery would be much nicer if it wasnt as an emergency.

We'll find out at the 12 week scan whether they will let me elect a section this time. Fingers crossed. So Norash, have you done a test yet? Good luck!

Hockeymum, I understand why you want a c-section. I hope that it is better for you this time.

I have mnot done test yet but will do one at the end of the week. Thanks for wishing me luck. I really do hope that I am pregnant .

cori · 25/08/2005 15:57

Hello HockeyMum.
I got BFP yesterday. Am very nervous about it as had miscarriage at 17 weeks in May, so fingers crossed for this one.
Assuming I make it, I will probably have an elective ceaserean too. My hospital does elective ceasereans at 38 weeks though, so that will take me into being due in May.
Not convinced any of this real yet....

cori · 25/08/2005 16:00

Hockeymum,
my reasons for wanting an elective ceaseran are exactly the same as yours. DS was two weeks over due, induction over Three days, nothing worked.

I have been told I should be able to have a ceasrean no problems.

hockeymum · 26/08/2005 07:52

Cori - CONGRATULATIONS on the BFP! Welcome to the club. It's lovely that someone else is due around the same time as me! was beginning to get lonely on this thread! I spoke to my midwife the other day and she did say it was very unlikely they'd push me to have a VBAC if I was really wanting a caesarian so I should have no problems in requesting one. She even said she would come with me to see the consultant if I needed an advocate so that's fab. After my rude midwife last time its lovely to have someone supportive this time. I hope you get the same experiences with yours.

How're you feeling? any symptoms yet or is it all a big shock still?

OP posts:
cori · 26/08/2005 10:29

Yes have been feeling sick on and off since Wednesday, which is a good sign. I expect not to have a problem with having an elective ceaserean as midwife suggested it.

andif · 26/08/2005 19:09

Just popping in from the Sept thread to wish all you newly pg girls good luck.
I was just thinking that it only seems like 5 mins since I was brave enough to post that I was pg and worried about tempting fate! You will be amazed how quickly May comes around!!

Xena · 29/08/2005 14:04

cori · 29/08/2005 17:49

Hi Xena,
Welcome, as you are aware I am as worried as you are.Now we can worry together. I dont like to say too much about it on these threads as I dont like to scare all those who havent had late miscarriages. I keep popping back to TTC after miscarriage thread. Glad to see you here though. Congatulations again.

hockeymum · 29/08/2005 19:15

Hello Ladies

Congratulations to you all

Just found out I am pregnant due May 6th!

My af was due on Saturday and I tested that morning and got a BFP! - very faint line.

I am delighted as we decided a few months ago that we would love to start trying and I am so shocked at how quick it was. I feel too lucky and just hope this baby stays inside.

I am only 4 weeks and 2 days so I dont really feel pregnant yet - mad!!!

We have a lovely 2 year old dd who loves babies so I just cant wait for her to meet her brother or sister.

Look forward to chatting to you all.

lovecloud · 29/08/2005 21:07

Sorry Munz - forgot to day thank you for pointing me in the right direction... i know how annoying it is when people start another thread with the same topic. Maybe Mumsnet could remove the on i started?

cori · 29/08/2005 21:11

Hi Lovecloud and Congratulations.
It is hard to believe at this stage isnt it? I even have a few symptoms but doesnt seem real. Saying that have already started planning when I can take maternity leave.

hockeymum · 30/08/2005 08:11

Hi Lovecloud and congratulations again

Hello to Cori and Xena too. How are you all feeling?

I'm finding it really strange to not really feel pregnant yet either. I had such a bad pregnancy last time round with my dd that the slight sickness and tiredness and super-smell thing dont really seem like being pregnant yet. I guess it was the same last time at 5 weeks but its hard to remember.

It's very exciting to be having May babies isn't it? A lovely time of year and the night feeds wont seem so bad cos it'll be relatively light plus we wont be pregnant through the hot bit of the summer and hopefully (fingers crossed) our sickness will be over by christmas. Well planned girls!

cori · 30/08/2005 08:59

HAdnt thought of any of those things really. A spring baby will be good though.
I always have such a problem wondering what to do for DS birthday.HE was born in Febuary, in the depths of winter.
The advantage was that when I was very heavily pregnant and on Maternity leave I was able to hibernate and happily stay inside all day and read books.

BEKsmum · 30/08/2005 15:24

Sorry to crash your thread girls but just had to say a massive congratulations to Xena, got tears in my eyes for you just writing this, sending you lots of baby glue. You make sure you take care of yourself and rest up Love & best wishes from Beks & all the November girls

ChaCha · 30/08/2005 16:00

Congratulations Xena!!! So very happy for you, just read your news on the Nov thread

And congratulations to everyone else here too! x

Mandymoo · 30/08/2005 18:05

hi all

Just thought i'd say "hi"!

I did a hpt today and got a very faint line but there was definitely a line there so I am going to assume that I am pregnant - in which case i will be due at in May.

I will post again later when I have some more time.

Congrats to you all and lots of hugs and kisses XX
