I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

helsi · 17/09/2005 21:06

Hi all, Just an update from me. Well I am now 7.6 weeks pg. Bought some maternity clothes already as I can't get into those I wore a couple of weeks ago.

On Wednesday after 3 + pg tests and no af since 1 Aug the doctor agreed that I was pg (thanx- As if I didn't know). He confirmed due date as 8th May 2006 unless scand change that at all in the future.

I am feeling really well apart from tiredness and fatness.

GrygielMM · 19/09/2005 14:35

Hi girls (old and new),

I am glad some of you are feeling well. It is so unfair that some of us worry if they do not get the symptoms and others cannot wait till sickness and tiredness end.
So far so good. I am still nauseous and put off food I really liked before (all tomato-based sauces, beans and grains). Some veg also make me sick... the joys of early months.
My boobs got bigger but I have not gained any considerable weight - it is still to come. I am terribly tired though which makes working 37.5 hours a week a real chore.

youngatheart40 · 19/09/2005 14:47

Still no symptoms apart from a few period-like aches in abdomen and tiredness. I think the first three months are the longest wait - waiting for GP appt. waiting to be able to tell friends and colleagues, waiting to know if all is well with fetus, waiting for round belly, worry, worry, wait wait wait. And patronising press articles don't help either. How is everyone else coping with these early days?

youngatheart40 · 19/09/2005 15:05

forgot to add, got terrible windbut don't know if that counts as a symptom at this early stage.

Spoo · 19/09/2005 15:12

Young@heart - still trying to get over the shock. Last week I unpacked all my pre-preg stuff and in a few weeks I will have to pack it all up again. What the hell am I gonna wear when I go back to work in two weeks - when I know in a month or so that I will need pregnancy gear again.

Spoo · 19/09/2005 15:13

P.S. No symptoms yet. Was sooo sick on my first I am very happy having no symptoms for the moment.

HandbagAddiction · 19/09/2005 15:31

Well I'm panicking now. Had loads of symptons last week - felt really sick, sore boobs, period like pains...you know the type of thing. Am literally only 'just' pregnant - so 4+2 and had these symptons from 3 weeks...but guess what....boobs don't feel sore today (inspite of much prodding) and I don't really sick anymore....so guess what....despite 3 +ve tests, I'm convinced that it's all about to go hideously wrong and that the AF type pains I have still got are just telling me that AF is really about to arrive...

Am I mad to think so negatively. Can't rememeber from last time whether symptons came and went like this or whether you had them permanently???

Spoo · 19/09/2005 15:40

You cannot have a AF if you have had a +ve result on your test. If you do start bleeding it is either and implantation bleed or a miscarraige. You cannot have a Period.

That said - you have not said you are bleeding. From what I remember first time round - some days I felt fine and others awful. I think the hormone that makes some women sick increases gradually during the first three months. However I do not think this is uniform and you might have a surge one day and then only a small increase the next, so I think it is normal to feel like this.

HandbagAddiction · 19/09/2005 15:45

Ahhh Spoo - the voice of reason to soothe my irrational / horomally induced worries.

Not bleeding - just so wanting this baby that any downturn in symptons starts me worrying. God help if I'm this worried now...only another 40 weeks to go! Seems like this initial trimester goes soooooooooo slowly.

youngatheart40 · 19/09/2005 15:45

HandbagAddiction - I'm sure all is fine. If I remember with DS some symptoms came and went especially cramping as if body was doing its adjustments in bursts and phases. Unless you get v. v. bad pains and bleeding I would try not to worry too much.
Spoo - How many weeks are you? It must feel like out of the frying pan and into the fire. Still all worth it in the end.

Spoo · 19/09/2005 16:42

I am 5 1/2 weeks. Definately out of the frying pan - into the fire! I really hope that this one is not quite as demanding as my DS. I love him to bits but he is into EVERYTHING and I am running ragged! God only knows what it will be like with a bump or with another! He does sleep reasonably well now so I should be grateful.

Handbag. When were you last pregnant? I am trying to not think about it too much as last time it soo seemed to drag.

HandbagAddiction · 19/09/2005 16:54

Spoo - dd is only just 2 so even though it's not really that long ago - it feels likes ages and almost as though I'm going through this again for the first time!

What makes things go even slower is that the GPs and midwives in our area don't even want to see you for booking appointments until you're 9 weeks - none of this 'confirmation' stuff. So another 5 weeks until I get to tell someone official....

Spoo · 19/09/2005 17:56

If I remember my first appointment was really unexciting as well and the midwives don't come to see you until that date either.

It's is obvious you want this pregnancy so just hold tight and try to enjoy the last bits of freedom before it all gets to fat or boring!

Bouj · 20/09/2005 07:51

Update from me. Had a small amount of bleeding and cramps on Saturday but still throwing up. Went to GP who sent me off for a blood test. Got the results and the hormone level is still what it should be and no more bleeding or pain, so should still be good. I am 8 weeks by calculation from last period, but had a scan which dates me just less than that. Still, I keep saying 8 weeks - want to get the first trimester over. Def. buying some maternity clothes - have ballooned already

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 09:03

Hi, just to let you know i've changed my nickname (was youngatheart40) as I've got over the age issue and this one more accurately describes me at the moment

Mandymoo · 20/09/2005 10:19

Hi all - well, had an early scan yesterday as had pains over the weekend. I am actually 7 weeks and not 8 weeks as i thought. Had a scary few moments when they couldnt find a foetus and was told to come back in 2 weeks for another scan (yeah, right, like i could wait 2 weeks!). BUT (and thank god) just as they were finishing the scan they managed to find a healthy foetus with heartbeat!! . Pains keep coming and going but they must be good old "pregnancy" pains (which covers everything according to my DH!). No real symptoms anymore - have now gone off salmon which i did with dd but apart from that and the tiredness, i'm ok. Hope you guys are ok X

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 10:26

Hi Mandymoo, glad to hear all is well. Sometimes i do wonder whether the MWs/Doctors realise how agonising the wait between appointments and scans is. I know it's not really their fault but still it doesnt help anyones nerves. Two weeks indeed!!. Anyway I hope your mind is more at rest now.

Mandymoo · 20/09/2005 10:32

lmp - i'm just so grateful i didnt have to wait 2 weeks!!! My mind is at ease (well, as much as it ever will be!) and ive got my scan photo to look at

How are you feeling?

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 10:42

Totally and absolutely normal - unfortunately. Although I seem to get hungrier faster. Wish I was about 12 weeks then I'd know things were on the road. Nevermind, MN is keeping me cheered up - some of the other general threads are hilarious. Should really be doing some work though![BLUSH]

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 13:55

Just scoffed chicken, rice, veg, cheese & biscuits and apple and I'm hungry again!! How am I going to keep the extra kilos under control? It's like having a hunger monster inside.

Enid · 20/09/2005 14:01

ha ha I am outing myself and joining this thread

Enid, 39

2 dds (nearly 6, nearly 3)
due date May 5th

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 14:04

Welcome Enid!!

Enid · 20/09/2005 14:09

am hoping that babies can develop properly on a diet of olives, lucozade and chili.

lovecloud · 20/09/2005 14:24

Welcome Enid

I have well and truly moaned the most I have ever moaned this week and it is only Tuesday!!!

I am so sick of feeling sick and walking around like a zombie - I cant do anything. I have so much work to do and a toddler to entertain (work from home) and i can just see all the dust building around me.
I feel guilty because I want this baby so much but I did not expect this kind of sickness, it is so much worse than the first time. My friend just told me her second time lasted 5 months!!! - great!

I need a good kick up the ass.

And whats even more annoying I was planning all the healthy snack i would have when pregnant and stocked up on lots of my fav nuts and seeds. Now the snmell of them makes me gag - i just want crisps!
