I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Hi all - just done a test and reckon i'm due on May 20th so thought i'd join the chat!
Stats:
Me 33
DH 34
DD 19mths

Feeling fine so far (other than turning into a zombie at 8pm!). Looking forward to getting to know you all.

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 14:46

Welcome CMac.
Lc sorry you feel so bad - I'm gong to have to give in and raid the vending machine for crisps.

hockeymum · 20/09/2005 16:11

Welcome CMac and Enid. Always nice to have some more people to moan with/get excited with etc etc.

Mandymoo - so glad the scan went well must have been a really worrying time for you. on the other thread I told you about a friend of mine who had the same at 8 weeks. She had her scan and all is well but has been told that it was probably the yoke sac passing through rather than dissolving in the body. The yolk sac is the thing that nourishes the baby until it establishes the placenta. All clever stuff really. Anyway so glad you got to see your db and hoping all the bad symptoms go away soon.

I'm 8+2 today and feel like a piece of poo! I've just had the most embarrasing moment of my life when I threw up all over a till while shopping at Asda. Its my only night off work all week tonight so I wanted to actually cook for my family but couldnt face looking at food without feeling sick so left to pay for some bread and yoghurts when I threw up all over the conveyor belt. Am so embarrassed I want to crawl into a hole and die . I'm being sick about 5-6 times a day and I'm just so exhausted I could cry. On the plaus side I had my booking appt with the midwife yesterday so I should get my scan date through soon for 12 weeks which will keep me going. I had hyperemesis with my dd 3 years ago through the whole pregnancy so I hope that it doesnt last that long this time. Moan over. Hope the rest of you are feeling better and beginning to bloom.

Hi everyone,
keep am popping in to say Hi. I am still getting on OK. I dont feel to badly today, not much in the way of symptoms apart from being pretty sleepy.

Spoo, you can have A/F ( or something like it)and still have a positive pregnacy test. I have one friend who had periods until 5 months. ( didnt know she was pregnant at all) It is not uncommon. Bleeding during pregnancy happens often and most of the time is not a sign of Miscarriage.

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 16:23

Hockeymum that's a lot of sick!!! - Hope you're keeping up our fluids?

littlemisspiggy · 20/09/2005 16:24

HandbagAddiction · 20/09/2005 18:13

zzoey · 20/09/2005 22:58

Hello
can I join in?
due 24th May I think
have 2 dd age 2 and 3
I'm 40 and dh is 45, he's v worried we're too old...

littlemisspiggy · 21/09/2005 10:52

Hi zzoey! snap! I reckon I'm due the same day. DS is 3 and I'm 40. NO WAY are we too old!! I have my GP appt this pm so will keep you all posted but if it's anything like last time it will be a bit of a non-event as they're not really interested till you're at least nine weeks (ie it's hanging on in there). But I have lot's of questions re which hospital we can have baby in and making sure I get the tests I want on time (nearly missed being able to have amnio last time partly due to slow system and partly because it was the first time and I assumed I would be guided through the system by mws and not have to make sure to keep asking for what I wanted).

Spoo · 21/09/2005 10:55

Cori - Apologies - I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't bleed during pregnancy - just that it cannot be called a 'period'. When I was preg with first and I bled I was convinced my period had started and I was wrong about being pregnant. I was trying to point out to Handbag that it was highly unlikely that she was about to have a 'period' and that because she had so many positive results - she was actually pregnant. Apologies for the confusion.

P.S. Welcome Zoeey and others - and no Zoeey - you are NOT too old!

lovecloud · 21/09/2005 11:04

hello

just signing to report that sea bands work

had enough of feeling like poo so went to the chemist and paid £8 for these acupressure wrist bands within 10 minutes i felt so much better. at variuos points through the day i actually felt 100% - amazing! although as soon as it got near my dinner time nothing stopped me feeling sick.
i am wearing them and although i feel sicky it is bearable which is the main thing. i have been going around like a zombie moaning all day for the lasty week so my dh is happy. the best £8 i have spent in a long time. dont buy any other brand only sea band as they are the only ones clinically tested. the only problem is yesterday it was hot so i had a tshirt on so now all the mums on the high street will know i am pregnant.

lovecloud · 21/09/2005 11:15

Also is anyone else finding it hard to eat healthy?

I just can not stomach healthy food and feel so guilty as i know 6 - 12 weeks is the important stage of organ growth but surely that is when most people have morning sickness???

confusing!

wanting crisps? maybe i just need salt?

littlemisspiggy · 21/09/2005 12:52

Absolutely! I do quite well til mid afternoon- 2 cups of tea/coffee in morning, cereal, juice, fruit, plenty water, balanced lunch and then BAM 3 o'clock want crisps, biscuits, chocolote or some other such delicacies

littlemisspiggy · 21/09/2005 12:53

that's 'chocolate'

HandbagAddiction · 21/09/2005 15:05

Just checking in for today! Feeling OK and desparate for the weekend to come so I can delcare myself as 5 weeks pregnant!! Symptons still minor - so boobs not sore at all anymore. Felt really sick last night just before I went to bed so it took me ages to go to sleep...but apart from that I just have AF type pains...whch is comforting. At least with some kind of symptons you get the impression that 'something' is going on!

Hope everyone else is OK and taknig good care of themselves....

cori · 21/09/2005 17:08

Sorry about that, Just thought that everyone should know bleeding is very common in pregnancy and doesnt nescarily mean doom.

Any way at the moment, i have a horrible cough and the only thing that helped in the past is a wee shot of brandy, would consider it but would probably make me sick.
I have been having heart palpitations with increasing frequency. SPoke to midwife today, am off to GP tomorrow. Probably have to have ECG.

Mandymoo · 21/09/2005 18:05

Hi all - still feeling sick and very tired. Fish and chips made me feel worse!!! Seeing midwife on Friday for booking in appointment. Its funny, since announcing my pregnancy this time around so many people have told me "OOOOHHHH, I knew XXXXX who had a healthy baby first time round and then miscarried on her 2nd" - really doesnt make me feel any better.

Am very hormonal, want to give up work already and am convinced my dh hates me - happy days then!!!!!

sniff · 21/09/2005 18:07

would you mind if I joined in I had a BFP today my stats are: (if I can do this right)

ME: 30
DH: 34
DS: 7
DS: 23months
due 28 May I think

helsi · 21/09/2005 20:27

welcome sniff. I am due 7 May 2006 and I have a dd who is 3 in December. I am 29, dh is 33.

I went to see doctor today on his request and all I got was, yes you are pg, copngratulations, book yourself in with the midwife. Have done that and appt is on 4 Oct at which point I will be 10weeks.

shhhh · 21/09/2005 20:45

Being a May05 mum I was exactly like all of you this time last year! In fact I have been thinking of my pregnancy quite a lot..One good thing though is that it's soon going to be late nights so what better reason to go to bed when you feel bleugh! I must admit I was sooooo ill till around 20+ weeks that I hardly emerged from bed & I didn't feel bad/guilty because it was dark outside!
Good luck to you all and just think..this time next year you will all have babies who will be about 18-20weeks!!! My dd is gorgeous and so so cute but I don't envy you lot one bit !!!
Good luck for the future May06 mums & babies from a May05 mum.xx

helsi · 21/09/2005 20:54

awww thanks shhhh.

IKWYM, I found myself thinking of my pg around the same time a year later. Its a bit like when you come back from holiday and think back to wjat you were doing tis time last week!

zzoey · 21/09/2005 21:58

thanks for the welcome and age reassurance!
and hello Sniff too

I feel a bit crazy because although I hate feeling sick it reassures me I'm really preg. Not vomiting (yet) fortunately but I'm only 5w, I remember it was horrid last time by 8w... oh help. but I dont dare wish it to go away...
just going a bit nuts. oh well

Bouj · 22/09/2005 00:33
