May Babies 2006

hockeymum · 22/08/2005 12:35

I thought I'd start a due May 2006 club even though its very early in the month for it.

My stats are

ME: 31
DH: 30
DD: 3 next week!
Next DB due: May 1st (4 weeks pregnant today!)

Just been to the docs to get it all confirmed and seeing the midwife tomorrow. Look forward to more of you joining me as the month progresses!

Actually, I expect to have an elective section after an emergency one with DD so db will probably be born at the end of April. But like the idea of a May thread nonetheless!

Congrats to Helsi.

Thought i should mention my personal info - i am 31, married with dd who will be 3 in Dec.

X

hockeymum · 31/08/2005 01:57

Congrats Mandymoo!

(ooh just noticed you are the same age as me and your dd is just a couple of months younger than my dd - nice age gap dont you think, if your dd is anything like mine she'll be esperate to do the fetching and carrying of nappies, wipes etc and save us a lot of bother)

Its not even 2 am and I have my pregnancy insomnia early tonight so thought I'd log on and type away, just been spewing so waiting till I can eat something dry before I go back to bed. Take back everything I said yesterday about not having many symptoms! Anyone else have trouble sleeping even when really tired?

Mandymoo · 31/08/2005 19:57

Not at the moment but did have when pregnant with DD. Didnt sleep for about a month!

Looking forward to that pleasure again!!

DD is gonna be a VERY bossy big sister but thats what older siblings do i guess - and i cant wait!! And yes, i just know she is gonna want to help with everything and who am i to stand in her way?!!

GrygielMM · 01/09/2005 12:22

Hi Girls,

Tested positive on 25/08 and had a blood test done today. If all goes well will have my first on or around 1 May (Labour Day in Eastern Europe...).

My stats are:
Me:31
DH:32
5 weeks + 3 days

I went through a nightmare of an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year. But as soon as I could, I got on the case again and here we are hoping for a baby and dreading the first scan (sometime next week).

Lots of love to you all.

hockeymum · 01/09/2005 14:12

Congratulations GrygielMM

So thats 2 of us due on May Day then! Hope the first scan goes well, do let us know how it goes. Will you have more regular scans for the first few weeks then? I'm sure it will be comforting to see your dbs progress as it grows.

Well done again

Hi, I have just found out that I am also expecting a May baby, due 8th/9th. I already have a DD who is 22 months so am looking forward to a summer baby this time.

GrygielMM · 02/09/2005 11:06

Thanks a lot hockeymum and good luck kittenpaws.
My BhcG level is 1,400, which looks very promising. Last time round it was only 560 at 8 weeks. Ultrasound scheduled for today at 14:00.

Keep fingers crossed!

Lots of love.

hockeymum · 02/09/2005 18:46

GrygielMM let us know how you get on with your scan - the results of the blood test sound good.

How are the rest of you? getting many side effects yet?

OP posts:
Mandymoo · 02/09/2005 21:47

I have Boobs !!!!!!!!!

GrygielMM · 04/09/2005 17:52

Test was not conclusive as it is too early... but we could see a black spot which could be a gestation sack right in the middle of the uterus. Will have to go for rescan next Friday. Am very hopeful.

No side effects as yet. Boob a bit sore and getting larger aghhhh there were big enough before. Hope I will not get to cup D or E!!!

How are the rest of you girls?

cori · 04/09/2005 18:31

Well, I seem to be getting sicker by the day and its only week 5. Apparently the symptoms dont really kick in til week 6.
I wonder if this means its a girl.

Snaggletooth · 04/09/2005 18:41

Hi all, I am 5 wks and 6 days today. Felt very bloated and tired for the last couple of days and sick in the morning - although dh and kids have a tummy bug so not sure whethere these are pg symptoms or not. Have sore, bigger boobs and have done since I concieved. Due May 1.

Mandymoo · 04/09/2005 20:03

Very tired, no energy, no patience and could sleep all day and all night if allowed to!

Havent actually been sick but have my moments - tbh i didnt have much sickness with dd (go on then, hate me!!!!!!)

Hope all you girls are doing ok ! XXXX

snaggletooth · 05/09/2005 16:27

this is my third baby and I already (no kidding) look about 3 months pg

hockeymum · 06/09/2005 08:22

Snaggletooth - congratulations. You're the third of the actual May Day babies. 3 of us second or third timers are due on May 1st.

I'm 6 weeks and 1 day today and have been so sick this week, every gross smell makes me throw up and almost everyone at work knows now because I keep having to run off to the bathroom.

On a happier note, we are going to go back home to see our family on friday to tell them about the new beanie. We have a christening to go to in Scotland next week and I cant go cos I just cant face it with all the puking so we have to tell the family so they dont feel put out that my dh is taking my dd on his own. On a big plus side, I'll get 2 days at home on my own for sleep dear sleep.

GriegelMM good news about the scan and glad you are feeling so positive, keep us up to date with it all. The rest of you doing ok?

snaggletooth · 06/09/2005 08:58

ms has started in earnest today and I felt like death all through the breakfast routine - especially when dh asked me if I wanted lime and coriander chicken in my packed lunch (he is making me one every day bless) - that nearly did it.

I have started turning down invitations too hockeymum - its just too obvious when you dont drink and now I'll be standing clutching a mineral water looking green - new morning sickness emoticon.

dont know how long i'll be able to keep it a secret at work. Its a bit difficult becase the woman I share an office with has had two late and traumatic miscarriages and has had counselling to cope with seeing pg women...! am dreading telling her.

GrygielMM · 06/09/2005 11:13

Oh, dear. I am sure she will try to understand. I have told everyone at work because as before I had to run to St. Thomas' every other day; it was too obvious that something is going on. I never take any sickies so there had to be another reason...

I got my blood test results yesterday. It jumped up from 1425 to 3770 in 48 hours!
I am trying to convince myself that I will not get ms because I am a veggie and have been eating the right foods for the last 2 years. Will let you know if anything changes on that front, for the time being there are no signs of sickness - fingers crossed. Sorry for all of you having to run to the loo all the time.

Take care of yourselves ladies.
Lots of love

Libb · 06/09/2005 11:17

Is that time of year again? the May babies are underway already? Good luck ladies, I had DS in May 2004 and started posting around this time on Mumsnet.

You've made me feel all nostalgic now . . .

All my love and best wishes to all of you xx

snaggletooth · 06/09/2005 13:35

grygie I hope you don't get bad ms - my sister didn't get it at all - but unfortunately I dont think its as simple as eating the right foods!!

Bouj · 07/09/2005 10:06

Hi there. I had been loitering in the April thread, but having an early scan today, it looks like I am due first week of May. Not sure of date yet (probably could work it out, but am lazy) So thought I should wander on over! I'm 29, Dh is 33, and ds is 2.5. Feeling incredibly sick (threw up in front of ds for the first time today, interesting with a chorus of 'what are you doing, mummy?) Boobs are a nightmare and headaches are fairly constant. Hurrah, remind me why I wanted to do this again!?!?

helsi · 07/09/2005 20:58

hello can I join?

my stats

me - 29
dh - 33
dd - 3 in Dec
Due - 7/5/06
