Bloody hell.

People can be really really mean on here. Even if you don't mean to be, please think about others feelings before posting on here. If you've 'given up', then give up, quit posting. This thread was actually a really nice one until it got turned into a personal attack on MD for settling on a non British way of spelling a name. It's really not kind to hijack this to get some laughs out of it, particularly after MD posted about how difficult getting to this point in hee pregnancy has been.

Md, your names are beautiful (I'm a bit biased but so what). To the others, go find a thread which are apt for jokes.

I absolutely agree. I just think that you have been overly mean to her to get some laughs. You were also mean about my own daughters name which makes me even crosser. And even crosser still that it makes me so cross that I am bothering to sit here and write this on a Saturday night!

I just think that on MN people go overboard with the criticism to get some jokes in without testing the water of the nature of the thread. I think maybe in this case you are guilty of this. If you can say to yourself, 100%, I still feel okay about everything I said then fine, we obviously have different views on what is and isn't okay to say to other people. Otherwise maybe just think before you post next time?

Personally I'd really hate to insult/upset anyone else on here and would really like to think that everyone else on here felt the same way.

kaballie · 19/04/2008 21:38

I'm off now, there's some shite on tele that needs watching.

This thread has got horrible and really didn't need to.

Lots of luck MD.x

Oh TMMJ - it has taken me a good 5 minutes to stop the tears running down my face from laughing so much. Thank you!

Makingdo - glad you have found the names that are right for you. Now, can we rely on you not to start any more name threads between now and October?

er, kaballie- where has anyone 'attacked' op for her non-british spelling? None of the comments were anything to do with the fact the spelling was 'non-british'.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/04/2008 21:51

It's funny, I don't remember you from any other controversial threads from my 3 years here, but I won't forget you now!
And flouncing would be pretty silly just because you got opinions which you invited.

If you do change your mind about names, then could you pop on to the 'Due in Oct' thread and link me to the thread please? I wouldn't want to miss it for the world!

Blimey - you were a brave (and foolish) woman then! But let's not rehash all that, or it will be another roundabout!

Good on you makingdo. I would never let MNers know my choices because I know how reactionary and judgemental some of them can be and they don't seem to understand how rude and hurtful they're being.

You just go with your heart. I know you will.

All the best. x

Spidermama · 19/04/2008 22:10

I won;t let the fact that you were on the GF side put me off you either.
