Dominic (not Dom)

If you REALLY push me, then Max.

But please, not Zebedee

bonniefromboot · 19/04/2008 01:21

Sorry you did ask!!!
But if you like them then who gives a shit what anybody else thinks? There's plenty of people who would judge you for picking boring names or chav names or any bloody name.
So I take that back, you pick whatever name you like and sod everyone else!!!

Dominic is fab - tis on my shortlist.

You had Ashley on that list that you linked to, which is also nice - have you gone off that now?

Dominic is a nice name.

Did Kerry Katona name her Max after Max Clifford? Is he her PR agent? He's not very good if so.

RustyBear · 19/04/2008 10:33

The first one on your list...
If it was Elias, I'd like it, but Alias means 'also known as' which would be a bit weird for a name.
otoh, you did say you wanted to be unusual....

MrsWeasley · 19/04/2008 10:34

Dominic

belgo · 19/04/2008 10:35

Dominic. Or Max.

NatalieJane · 19/04/2008 10:42

I have a Thomas that doesn't get shortened to Tom, which I am very pleased about.

Dominic was also the geeky kid with the snot and a wart on his knee at my school. (However he is now a police man, and is very swoonified)

I like Max.

I do kind of like Mason, not sure I'd be brave enough to call a son it, but I can see why you like it.

Looking at your style of names how about Kyle, Alesio, Romano, Zachary, and I heard a lovely name the other day, not sure on spelling though, it was pronounced Mat-tay-us.

kayzisexpecting · 19/04/2008 10:54

Dominic!! Its my ds's middle name and its gorgeous.

Quite like Mason, different but not OTT.

belgo · 19/04/2008 10:54

NJ - I think that's spelt Matthias - and is on mine and dh's shortlist for a boy. I'm glad you like it!

NatalieJane · 19/04/2008 10:59

I do like it, and I quite like just the Thias bit (Not sure you'd spell it like that though if you decided to go with just that!)

WanderingTrolley · 19/04/2008 10:59

Dominic or Max.

How are you pronouncing 'Alias?' Ay- lee -us or A - lie - us?

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 19/04/2008 11:41

Dominic and Max cute. Zebedee ridiculous, Alias not a name. You cannot call a child alias. Alias what? Awful.

artichokes · 19/04/2008 11:48

Max is alright.
Dominic was a very common name in the 70s and 80s. I really dislike it. It reminds me of boring spotty teenage boys in 80s clothes (not sure why...)
Alias and Zebedee are terrible. No child will thank you for saddling them with such names.

Sorry.

lljkk · 19/04/2008 12:01

Other unusual boy names:
Ashlyn (Ash),
Thane (cutie I went to school with)
Dane
Oliver (ok, not unusual, but sounds like OP's taste)
Rigel (after the star)
Zachary, Zephyr

If you want unusual why not go straight for River or Phoenix, names like that.

Maybe "Elias"?? (Alias means "known as")

Bloke from Platoon was Elias, I'm afraid. I like that but not Alias. Would just pick Zed over Zebedee.

Consider Titus if you change your mind about Mason, I reckon it's due a resurgence

Surprised to hear about all the snot-nosed Dominics; I went to school with this Dominic who was cute and sweet-natured, although rather accident-prone. As you can see, he's now grown into quite a handsome fellow!

Go for Mason then! I don't think it's that unusual or extraordinary.
