Also I doubt many people will make our points. The Insolvency Lawyers Association is not on the tip of many tongues .

Cheers Chokes, was getting quite cross which is fairly out of character for me, never had to deal with someone being rude like this on MN before!

Makin Do - you can use Ila if you are Indian, Scottish, Welsh, Tahitian, whatever.

Noone else's business but yours and mean of others to try and get cheap laughs from the very important decision of naming your baby (and in the process take the piss out of the name of my baby because it has a name of non British origin!)

Makin Do

I prefer Ila Loves Allie (another one the students pointed out to me AFTER I named her!)

I just don't get why- if you like the name Isla you don't just call her that (using the proper spelling), especially when you're scottish.

As for being worried that people will think it's Iz-la - that's just ridiculous! So you'd rather call her ayla and have every single person who reads it pronounce it wrong than have Isla and have maybe 1 person in a million pronounce it wrong .

I don't know why she comes on asking for people's opinons when you refuses point blank to take anything on board. I'll join you in giving up mmj.

pootleflump · 19/04/2008 20:21

sorry she refuses

I'm just mildly amused that you are worried that people will mispronounce Isla, when you didn't seen that worried about using Alias, which mean 'Otherwise known as'

Which to put it mildly is an odd meaning to choose for a given name!

No, but you seemed quite serious about considering it. and didn't seem to accept its actual meaning.

But I could be wrong.

So you weren't that serious about choosing it- was is this... just a bit of attention seeking?
