What would you say is the peak mumsnet baby name? What would Ms ‘tinkly laugh/no is a full sentence’ call her PFB?

I think I’m correct in saying:

girl: Elspeth (always suggested, why?!)
boy: Jago

Currently I'd say Theo and Elodie.

HelloBunny · 29/12/2022 20:59

Otter-ly...

How do you actually say it, then?

NewMoonPhase · 29/12/2022 21:00

Ottilie and Balonz.

Bobbybobbins · 29/12/2022 21:09

Ottilie - good call!

Headabovetheparakeet · 29/12/2022 20:32

Just to clarify, I'm not saying I don't believe that anyone is called Ottilie, I just mean that it gets suggested so often on here that I'd expect to have come across one or two little Ottilies at the playground or nursery by now.

I know 2.

That's actually incorrect. But
Most people pronounce it incorrectly.

Just reading the thread purely to see if my kids names tuned up 🤣. Not so far. But I've seen many of these names at nursery, toddler groups and school! Can't say which as I don't want to be outed 🙃

@TheBirdintheCave is spot on. The Otterly brigade shouldn't be allowed to use the name.

Ws2210 · 29/12/2022 21:15

I've seen Frankenstein mentioned on here before

Christopher nickname Kit (I’ve never heard this in real life).

Ottilie

My 53 year old uncle is called Christopher but always been known as Kit so it's not a Mumsnet thing

Councilhouseandproud · 29/12/2022 21:19

Teddy ....

Elspeth?! That’s such an ordinary granny-ish name in Scotland. A completely different kind of name to Jago!

Scooopsahoy · 29/12/2022 21:24

Margot is a name I’ve seen come up in a lot of the baby name threads here. I’ve never ever met one in real life.

LolaSmiles · 29/12/2022 21:24

Whatever the name is, Mrs Tinkly Laugh will have decided on the approved nicknames whilst the child is firmly in the uterus.

She's probably started a Mumsnet thread with 'if I like the nickname CeCe/Xander, which full name shall I put on the birth certificate so they have a full name, even though I plan on forbidding anyone from ever using it'

Talapia · 29/12/2022 21:27

Otillie, Margot, Elsie, Enid

Arlo, Arthur, Atticus, Caspar.
