Aubree or Kaydence?

i do prefer modern names, the old fashioned lily, Olivia, etc isn’t really my style. My husband likes aubree which I think is adorable but I think it’s becoming a lot more commonly used now and I like Kaydence because I think it’s more unusual. Neither are that common in England but that dosent bother me. Which one? Middle name will be Skye

Aubree goes better with Skye.

DramaAlpaca · 20/05/2022 16:40

Skye is nice

SneezesHaveStarted · 20/05/2022 16:40

Neither are my cup of tea at all (though I like Skye), but Aubree is the nicer of the 2. I would spell it Aubrey personally.

Amandawest447 · 20/05/2022 16:41

we like Skye for the middle name at the moment but it’s not set in stone. I would just like opinions on the two names on their own please as middle name may not end up being skye🙂

I'm afraid I don't like either I'm sorry. Also Kaydence will end up Kay or Kayden (wrongly)
Possibly because Kayden has become too popular in certain demographics it puts me off.

Sky is beautiful though.

YellowDots · 20/05/2022 16:42

It's best to pick the name you and your husband like the best.

Personally, I like names that people can pronounce and that people can spell as constantly having to justify or explain your name can be wearing.

I would say Kay is a very old fashioned name so if you don't like old fashioned names it seems an unusual choice.

chouxpetitfilous · 20/05/2022 16:42

I like Aubree best, but I would spell it Aubrey.
I would probably spell Kaydence like Cadence to be fair.

BaronessBomburst · 20/05/2022 16:42

Not Kaydence.
Cadence is a word, and a software company.
Aubree is nice and goes well with Skye

pinthehammer · 20/05/2022 16:43

Both names are fine if they're spelled correctly. Aubrey and Cadence.

Not a fan of your spellings.

ColouringPencils · 20/05/2022 16:43

I like them with the spellings Aubrey and Cadence, but think with alternative spellings your daughter might be forever correcting people on how to spell her name, which could get annoying! Love Cady for a nickname too. And Audrey.

ShowOfHands · 20/05/2022 16:43

Cadence is a rather pretty name for a girl but spelled that way.

Aubrey is a man's name to me and again, spelled this way.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/05/2022 16:43

Aubrey or Cadence for me. People will likely interpret your unusual spellings as parental stupidity and judge you and your child for it.

TeddyTrucks · 20/05/2022 16:44

Both of them will have the poor child having to spell their name to someone every day. Why would you do that to your own daughter?? She'll resent it for ever.

Aubrey is the usual spelling and I like it better than Kaydence, which to me sounds way too much like Real Housewives or Kardashians. Unless of course you live in LA and bleach your teeth. In which case, good luck to you.

aSofaNearYou · 20/05/2022 16:45

I don't like Kaydence, especially that spelling.

Aubree is nice though and not common enough to be too common imo.

i agree. Aubrey is a man’s name. And old fashioned.

BananaShrimp · 20/05/2022 16:46

I believe they are spelled Cadence and Aubrey.

nutellingyou · 20/05/2022 16:46

Aubrie - this spelling is nice.

I thought it was Cadence, like the word. Kay + Dance makes me think you're telling someone called Kay to dance...

There are lots of beautiful unusual names, I'm not so keen on the phonetic spelling of names I prefer the traditional style.

rocketfromthecrypt · 20/05/2022 16:47

Cadence is quite nice. Aubrey is ok but very American (which you may also be, to be fair) and very modern-sounding, so will probably date quite badly.

rocketfromthecrypt · 20/05/2022 16:48

And for the love of all things holy please don't spell them Kaydence or Aubree.

jammyrose · 20/05/2022 16:50

I really don’t like the spelling of either.

Much prefer Aubrey or Cadence.

LaLaLouella · 20/05/2022 16:51

Aubrey is rather lovely 😊

Not keen on Kaydance, not that keen in Cadence either....

zafferana · 20/05/2022 16:52

Well whatever you choose, please spell it properly. Aubree? Kaydence? Bleugh.

Wolfiefan · 20/05/2022 16:53

Hate the K spelling. Cadence is a musical term.
Aubrey is a man’s name.

ladygindiva · 20/05/2022 16:55

Aubree is nice. I'm not sure why but I don't like Kaydence.

Lulu1919 · 20/05/2022 16:56

Aubrey
