Ellora or Paisleigh?

Ellora and Paisleigh are the top two me and DH have chosen but not sure of which one to choose as we like them both equally. We both prefer spelling them differently than having them as Elora and paisley if anyone's wondering. DD is due in December so we've got time to have a think and we'd love to hear your opinions thanks.

No I don't either of them
Paisley yes. But not how you've spelt it

Garman · 26/09/2021 20:40

Paisleigh is terrible, sorry.

SmallGreenStripes · 26/09/2021 20:41

Sorry, I don’t like either

DobieGrayshark · 26/09/2021 20:41

I’ve never heard of Ellora, it’s not my kind of name but it’s fine. Paisleigh of any spelling just makes me think of Ian Paisley.

pbdr · 26/09/2021 20:42

Not a fan of either, but Paisleigh is especially awful. Elora (with one L) would be fairly inoffensive.

TwinsandTrifle · 26/09/2021 20:42

Elora is the nicest. Please don't do the silly spellings to be "younique" agree with PP, Paisleigh is terrible.

MrsFin · 26/09/2021 20:42

Both are awful, however you spell them. Particularly awful with the spellings you suggest.
What makes Ellora "nicer" than Elora?
And why do you like Paisleigh better than Paisley?

Minibea · 26/09/2021 20:43

Both dreadful spellings of not v nice names Confused

Shakeyourface · 26/09/2021 20:43

Neither of them are real names in that form, Paisleigh is especially awful

maddiemookins16mum · 26/09/2021 20:43

None, ridiculous names that your wain will have to explain and spell out every time she meets someone new for the rest of her life.

CatCup · 26/09/2021 20:44

Neither sorry, strange names

Lou98 · 26/09/2021 20:44

I like Elora, spelt either way.

I like the name Paisley (although I live really near Paisley in Scotland so wouldn't personally use it round here) - however, I hate the spelling you've chosen. It feels very much like trying too hard to be 'different' while choosing a fairly common name in my opinion

DramaAlpaca · 26/09/2021 20:45

Ellora is tolerable. I have no words for the other one.

iusedtoloveopalfruits1 · 26/09/2021 20:45

Clearly you have never actually been to paisley not somewhere I’d want to be named after Blush

knittingaddict · 26/09/2021 20:45

Think of the children! A lift time of having to spell your first name, but then I don't understand this trend for misspelling names in order to be special somehow.

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/09/2021 20:45

Paisleigh is especially awful

Agreed. If you want a made up name, make one up. But if you butcher an existing name it will be misspelled all the time. Just why?

Saisong · 26/09/2021 20:46

Of the two I prefer Ellora

With that spelling of Paisleigh, firstly it read as Paz-lee, then all i could see was 'sleigh' which made me read as Pay-sleigh

Pepsiandcurley · 26/09/2021 20:46

Both names ok but I wouldn’t jazz up the spelling or you’ll have a lifetime correcting people

JulesM73 · 26/09/2021 20:46

Sorry but don’t like either name and the spellings are truly terrible.

Buttons294749 · 26/09/2021 20:47

If you want an unusual name just pick one, don't mess with a normal name! Elora is fine, nice and pretty. Paisley makes me think of the place, although ibknowbit isbs name

LuluJakey1 · 26/09/2021 20:47

They are both horrible- laughably naff.

VienneseWhirligig · 26/09/2021 20:48

All I can see when I look at Paisleigh is the word "sleigh" so it could be OK for a Christmas baby.

Blindleadingtheblind · 26/09/2021 20:49

Sorry OP, I'm with these guys ^^

Helenluvsrob · 26/09/2021 20:50

I looked and Managed ellora if you must have one of them.

I miss read paisleigh as parsley in a dreadful cod West Country accent. Not pretty.

And I’m public facing. I do try with unique names.

Saisong · 26/09/2021 20:51

Wow that was wierd, i posted an opinion, nothin offensive and it went straight to 'MN have hidden it', didn't appear at all.
