Ellora or Paisleigh?

Ellora and Paisleigh are the top two me and DH have chosen but not sure of which one to choose as we like them both equally. We both prefer spelling them differently than having them as Elora and paisley if anyone's wondering. DD is due in December so we've got time to have a think and we'd love to hear your opinions thanks.

@IndecentCakes

I heard Hue and Cry too when I saw Paisleigh too!

MrsBungle · 26/09/2021 21:40

Elora is ok. Don’t lumber her with paisleigh

CarryOnNurse20 · 26/09/2021 21:43

Paisleigh is honestly one of the worst name ideas I’ve ever heard. I do not get the idea of giving your child a name with essentially the wrong spelling. You’re setting them for a lifetime of irritation ‘yes jasmine but with a z and two mms’. Why.

CaddieDawg · 26/09/2021 21:44

Elora is quite nice. Paisley is the correct spelling if you want to use it, but tbh it's not a very nice place nor pattern so it's not somewhere I'd choose to name my child after (no matter the spelling).

Salmonpinkcords · 26/09/2021 21:46

Paisley as a place is a fairly dire….agree with caddydawg

SoftSheen · 26/09/2021 21:47

Elora is OK, though I prefer Eleanora.

The other name is truly dreadful.

UniversalAunt · 26/09/2021 21:47

Ellora sounds like a brand of plant based spread, & Paisleigh a herby cream cheese.

Suggest you stop trying so hard.

Rockdown2020 · 26/09/2021 21:47

Ellie’s is such a lovely name. I’ve never heard it before.

ArranMumma · 26/09/2021 21:48

I don’t like either sorry

Rockdown2020 · 26/09/2021 21:48

*Ellora. Bloody spellcheck

godmum56 · 26/09/2021 21:48

Its a hard no from me

yikesanotherbooboo · 26/09/2021 21:49

Think of your child rather than your pregnancy bubble feelings.Remember when you were young and were asked your name; would you have wanted to constantly explain the spellings nhs and / or pronunciation of your given name?it's not fair.

SpiceWeaselBAM · 26/09/2021 21:50

Ellora is a beautiful name!

elbea · 26/09/2021 21:51

I would pronounce Elora and Ellora differently

ElephantCup · 26/09/2021 21:53

Elora was the baby in the film willow

Just spell things properly, I have to correct the spelling/pronunciation of my name with every new person

IndecentCakes · 26/09/2021 21:54

@ brightbluebell

Ahhhhhhm looking out for Liiiiiiiiin DA!

tootootaataa · 26/09/2021 21:55

Oh no they are awful names

Unfashionable · 26/09/2021 21:56

In the unlikely event that this is real, I strongly suggest OP visits Paisley before she lumbers her daughter with an incorrectly spelled distortion of its name. The place is a shithole.

ODFOx · 26/09/2021 21:57

I like Elora. Willow was one of the films my children loved growing up and Elora was the name of the baby princess in that.

WaitinginVain · 26/09/2021 21:59

I am going against the grain here. I have never heard these names before but I would personally rather be called either of them than some of the so-called "classic" names that come up on here over and over again.
I think either of them are fine, if you want something different they are and it's your baby, your choice.

RuthW · 26/09/2021 22:00

Ellora is fine. Paisley in any form isn't.

AfterSchoolWorry · 26/09/2021 22:01

Paisleigh 😂😂😂

KatherineJaneway · 26/09/2021 22:04

Neither

GreyhoundG1rl · 26/09/2021 22:05

Paisleigh... 🙄

ladygindiva · 26/09/2021 22:06

I like Ellora, that's a pretty name, I've not heard it before. Unusual but not weird.
