Just a post for fun

I’m wondering if anyone had any names they would have loved to have called their DC but either didn’t use it because it was too out there or they changed their mind last minute

Mine would be Rocket - part of me is desperate to still use it with next DC

Maverick. Until two days before ds was born when I found out it was becoming more popular in the red states.

Last pregnancy I loved Angharad (respect to the poster who mentioned it upthread). DH hated it. We had a boy.

This time I'm fishing for Megumi. Only we're not Japanese and have a longer standard English name (think Cartwright type of thing). DH is not being convinced.

5BlueHydrangea · 06/02/2018 16:34

Amaryllis or Aurelia

MissTFied · 06/02/2018 17:08

With three weeks to go I am getting some fantastic inspiration from this thread, thank you! Though I should think the hormones are running wild, still, I'll add them to the lists...

OpheliaLeghorn · 06/02/2018 17:56

Stoker. I so badly wanted to use this for DS, but XH vetoed it, the bugger.

NannyKasey · 06/02/2018 20:30

My now ex H vetoed Freddie (mainly because I wanted the middle name 'Mercury' to go with it Grin Wink)

CheeseEMouse · 06/02/2018 20:33

Clover. A bit after "what Katy did" and me always liking it. That was vetoed quickly

Clementine
Sigh

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 06/02/2018 20:50

DH would say Oyvind, I would say Romulus.
(By weird coicidence, ds2 was apparently born on the same day Rome was founded!)

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 06/02/2018 20:54

Tenzin - but living in Wales not Tibet I wasn't brave enough to go for it Grin

Evewasinnocent · 06/02/2018 20:54

DH wanted Merlyn - DS is very pleased I vetoed!

I know a Malachi - suits him!

BewareOfDragons · 06/02/2018 21:02

We have a nephew called Øyvind, Beyond. Love him and the name. Grin

IncidentalAnarchist · 06/02/2018 21:03

Darwin

stiffstink · 06/02/2018 21:03

Both of my DCs names are on this thread

AthenaAshton · 06/02/2018 21:06

Stiff What??? Stoker and Amaryllis? If so, I am monstrously jealous...

VanillaSugar · 06/02/2018 21:19

The Duke of Devonshire 's nickname is Stoker.

Cheekylittlenumber · 06/02/2018 21:27

Nanny Kasey I wanted Elton and with my husbands name as a middle name. Yes his name is John!

We had a girl instead!

Wolfgang was also on the list.
I also liked Fozzy (after fozzy bear in the muppets!) my mum said it wasn't 'formal' enough but I found out Fozzys long name was Fozzwaldo and fell in love with that ha ha!

Sarahh2014 · 06/02/2018 21:28

Raisinbrain · 06/02/2018 21:45

@ArgosTheDog not according to my friends and family Sad

MrsWobble3 · 06/02/2018 22:18

I wanted Amaryllis but didn't dare. I would have gone for Lily but dh vetoed it. He wanted to call our dd Sophie but I vetoed it (because it's our elder dd's name). He thought it would be much easier for him if one name worked for all.

EB123 · 06/02/2018 22:23

All three of my boys names are on this thread. Only one of them i would consider brave-ish but nobody has ever commented (to my face).

If we had a girl i love Clementine.

stressedoutfred · 06/02/2018 23:53

Clementine
Josephine
Esme
Jemima

Didn't have any girls to name! Sad

HabbyHadno · 06/02/2018 23:59

Hamish, gutted as I still love it.

HabbyHadno · 07/02/2018 00:02

Oh, and also Digby. Loved that one too.
