Just a post for fun

I’m wondering if anyone had any names they would have loved to have called their DC but either didn’t use it because it was too out there or they changed their mind last minute

Mine would be Rocket - part of me is desperate to still use it with next DC

Myosotis

WhenEnoughIsEnough · 05/02/2018 17:01

Pandora for my dd I'm sure she would have hated me for it though.

ComeOnGordon · 05/02/2018 17:02

Sebastian -i come from a very working class background even though I don’t live there anymore and I got so many “oooohhhh look at you thinking you’re posh calling a child Sebastian” that I didn’t go through with it. Still annoyed that I didn’t ignore them all cause where we live now it’s a perfectly normal name

BeautifulLiar · 05/02/2018 17:03

Pandora

BewareOfDragons · 05/02/2018 17:10

Oakley or Rafferty for a boy

Linnéa for a girl. Love love love it, still do, but knew that it would be mispronounced constantly here. (Scandinavian name)

BusterGonad · 05/02/2018 17:12

Hunter.

N2986 · 05/02/2018 17:16

Valentina, Savannah Blush, and American surname type names for boys i.e. mason etc. Thank god my dm refused to call them any of the above! She actually threatened to pick her own names and just call them by that Confused

DwangelaForever · 05/02/2018 17:27

Cillian 😍 (cause I'm from the wrong side of belfast to use that name and not get my windows broken 😂)

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 05/02/2018 18:13

@dwangelaforever I loved that too for firstborn ds. If I ever have another I would love either Cillian or Orlaith. Or Carmen

Helpotron3000 · 05/02/2018 18:19

Kintan wow, love eartha

OddBoots · 05/02/2018 18:21

shangela

Laska5772 · 05/02/2018 19:03

Torrin/Thorin
When I told DS recently he said he loved it ! He now uses it as his role play character name

themagicamulet · 05/02/2018 19:12

Jemima. Still regret it sometimes, but it conjures up the stripy-legged rag doll for my generation so I couldn't quite do it!

Shockers · 05/02/2018 19:18

DD’s middle name is Jemima Puddleduck (but we only put the first half on her birth certificate Grin)

Whisperquietly · 05/02/2018 19:23

Rufus
Edmund
Cuthbert
Gordon
I wasn’t even allowed to sneak one of them in as a middle name.

Eustacia
Arabella
Tryphena
Fortunately I didn’t have a girl!

KnightsOfCydonia · 05/02/2018 19:31

Sebastian - last DC was a girl so couldn't use it through XH said we weren't "middle class" enough to pull it off.
I still love that name!

proudmum4 · 05/02/2018 19:59

Theodore my DP won't let me :(

summermeadows · 05/02/2018 20:13

Bewareofdragons, I know a Lynnea!
I guess they are pronounced the same and just a different spelling.
It's a beautiful name Smile

summermeadows · 05/02/2018 20:18

BusterGonad, I know a Hunter! He's a lovely wee boy.

Dwangela, I absolutely loved Niamh for a girl but my DH vetoed it for the same reasons as you (NI too) Sad but then we had all boys anyway!

SuperBeagle · 05/02/2018 20:22

I love the name Wednesday for a girl.

Mainly because of Wednesday Addams, admittedly.

mathanxiety · 05/02/2018 20:24

Alice or Bridget. I look at DD3 and kick myself. (No offence to DD).

Littleraincloud · 05/02/2018 20:28

I loved carys but our surname rhymes with it exactly

MadameJosephine · 05/02/2018 20:31

Antigone, I love tiggy as a nn but it’s a bit too posh for this neck of the woods
