Name you weren’t brave enough to use

Just a post for fun

I’m wondering if anyone had any names they would have loved to have called their DC but either didn’t use it because it was too out there or they changed their mind last minute

Mine would be Rocket - part of me is desperate to still use it with next DC

I love traditional Welsh names, Angharad, Aneurin, Hywel. Unfortunately we have a very traditional Irish surname so I thought they would sound a bit much.

MadeOfPaper · 05/02/2018 10:16

Enid. I still love it.

Linnet · 05/02/2018 10:33

Star

LaBelleSausage · 05/02/2018 10:48

I really wanted to use Perigrine, but even as a middle name DH thought it was too outlandish. We used a middle name of Benjamin instead but I still have little frissons of regret

shartsi · 05/02/2018 11:03

Lorenzo. Still love it.

autumnkate · 05/02/2018 13:10

Sunday
Wolfe

millsbynight · 05/02/2018 13:33

I love some of these!

Would have loved to call DD Kastelle but she has a boring top 20 name (which I still love!).

Sophronia · 05/02/2018 14:31

Atlas or River for a boy

UsernameInvalid66 · 05/02/2018 16:19

I loved Jago, DH liked it but was scared to go with an unusual name. By the time we were expecting DS2 he'd come round to it, but DS1 had James as a middle name and they're closely related so it felt wrong.

Also briefly loved Riley because of a character in a film around the time DS1 was conceived, but I always knew it wasn't my usual style.

OnASummersDay · 05/02/2018 16:28

Persephone
Rowena
Ottilie
Octavia

Love them all but DH vetoed.

Harebellmeadow · 05/02/2018 16:33

Guinevere - wasn't sure whether DD would turn out pale enough, and it would be quite unusual, so we skipped it. Still love it though. Also Portia (Porsche pronounciation) or Gwendolyn.

Littleraincloud · 05/02/2018 16:37

I love Ottilie for a girl but I've had boys and the small factor that my DH hates it. I'm sure I've seen it spelled differently , I don't know how to spell it correctly

Littleraincloud · 05/02/2018 16:38

I do think that is the correct way though

corlan · 05/02/2018 16:42

Boudicea

TieGrr · 05/02/2018 16:42

Esme

But that was really because another name ended up suiting DD more.

Davespecifico · 05/02/2018 16:44

Bruno because it’s a dog’s name. Luckily we had a girl so choice didn’t need to be made.

AutumnalTed · 05/02/2018 16:46

Montogomery, monty for short. I love it

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 05/02/2018 16:47

I really wanted to call ds Emmett or Elliot but they just reminded dh of Back to the Future and ET

yumscrumfatbum · 05/02/2018 16:50

Betty, not outlandish but it rhymes with our surname made it sound like a character in a children's book

Faintlinesquints · 05/02/2018 16:56

Rocky Blush we had a girl and used the name for a pet instead!

flissfloss65 · 05/02/2018 16:58

Horatio, love the way it sounds. Went for fairly popular biblical name instead.

goldentriangle · 05/02/2018 16:59

Shockers Lettice for me too, never found anyone else who thought it was a reasonable name for a child but I love it!

usernameinfinito · 05/02/2018 16:59

Klitoria
