Arrietty is such a brilliant name. I half wish I'd used it! But I don't think I would have been brave enough.

Harriet the Spy was one of my favourite childhood books.

Chaffinch4 · 14/09/2017 14:38

Edmund, Peter (lion, witch & wardrobe)

Matilda
Oliver
Coraline- not sure I'd use it though.
Scout- again, not sure if I'd use it.

Holliewantstobehot · 14/09/2017 14:41

Sorrell from curtain up. Evadne, Emerence and Margot from chalet school. Santa from the circus is coming.

MaroonPencil · 14/09/2017 14:43

Linnet (Children of Green Knowe)

Sebastian (the Sadlers Wells books)
Tolly (Green Knowe - but I wouldn't use it alone and I have never been able to think of a longer version that isn't Ptolemy or Toseland, which is what his version was short for).

AGnu · 14/09/2017 14:44

Aranea (Charlotte's Web)

MaroonPencil · 14/09/2017 14:44

Oh, and Caspian, the eponymous Prince.

BertrandRussell · 14/09/2017 14:44

We have Banner and Cascade in our field........

MiddlingMum · 14/09/2017 14:46

Carlotta - from one of the Enid Blyton books.
Arietty - yet another vote Smile

SerfTerf · 14/09/2017 14:50

Green I just went looking for stats on the use of Arrietty and noticed that one of the babyname sites is suggesting it as a NN for Harriet. So potentially one could have both.

ladybirdsaredotty · 14/09/2017 15:01

I know someone whose daughter had Arrietty as a middle name!

Caspian is in our list for DS. Not sure if we're brave enough, though.

I love Scout, maybe as a middle name.

Love Lyra too, DP vetoed.
