Clover and Cecy - lovely. Also like Rose Red.

In the later Anne of GG books, I think she has a daughter (or granddaughter?) called Rilla, presumably from Marilla. Lovely name.

Tissie Taberner
Cassandra Mortmain
Oswald Bastable
Ramona Quimby
Dimsie Maitland

(I wouldn't give these names to a child but they make good character names)

Benjamin - I remember there being a book when I was a child and I was sure it was called Benjamin and the witch but a google search comes up blank. The boy Benjamin was sat in a forest against a tree and a witch came... I remember no further. Anyone have any ideas?

Not a favourite but how about Kizzy

Oh yes, Kizzy. I loved that book.

Miniminimus · 14/09/2017 22:29

Darrell and Alicia (Malory Towers)
Another vote for Petrova and Posy (agree not Pauline). Was so entranced by that book!
Arrietty has always been my top literary name though.
Coincidentally DD is Harriet but will not stand for Arrietty. I can just about get away with Harrietty, but drop the H and I get a glare. Hmm Still working on itGrin

Miniminimus · 14/09/2017 22:32

Kizzy with the Romany grandmother? Another amazing story from too long ago....what was the book called? Was she Keziah in full?
