When you were a child/teen what baby name were you going to 'definitely' use for future DC's?

...And did any of you actually use them?

You have to put the rough year too, so we can spot the trends, if any.

Me:

1991 (I was ten) I wanted Kylie and Trystin. Yes spelled like that. And Kylie had a heart above the 'i'. Ahem

1996 (fifteen) I wanted Phoebe Luna (had an interest in astronomy) and Maxwell Jordan.

Still love Phoebe now, the others...not so much!

1990 I wanted Jade and Amber. Together Hmm

Aged 11

DaydreamDolly · 11/10/2011 20:12

1993 when I was 14 I wanted Lily and Zac.

They're not on my radar any longer but only because I suppose they're very popular now, they were a bit different then.

Great idea for a thread!

When I was about 11 (so 1988/89) I was convinced I'd name a son Nathan after Brother Beyond (does anyone even remember them now Grin). Around the same time I thought Neneh for a girl was the coolest name ever (yes, I loved Neneh Cherry).

FranSanDisco · 11/10/2011 20:12

As a teenager I loved Emma and Daniel. These were replaced by Matthew and Sophie. I did use Sophie but not Matthew Smile

MirandaGoshawk · 11/10/2011 20:13

Oooh, I can't say. It's Biblical, and unusual. And yes, I used it Smile

whojamaflip · 11/10/2011 20:14

Always wanted Christopher and Rebecca when I was in my teens (late 80's early 90's)...........ended up marrying a Chris and his sister is Rebecca Smile

windatmytail · 11/10/2011 20:15

Finnavear was my girls name of choice but no DD unfortunately I still love the name now

posey · 11/10/2011 20:16

Yes I remember Brother Beyond Grin

When I was about 13 (1981) I was going to call any baby girl I had Vicki. It never occurred to me I might have a boy! And no, dd isn't called Vicki!

mamasmissionimpossible · 11/10/2011 20:18

William, Emily and Sophie were my dolls names when I was a child and I thought that I would name my future dc's that. None of my dc's have those names!

Lol Flip - Nathan from BB became a music manager and managed Lisa Scott-Lee from Steps for a while. When she was doing her reality show, he used to start most sentences with ''when I was in Brother Beyond'' and it used to flashback to him with his jeans and hairdo, I used to wet myself laughing!

Some cool answers so far, when I was a little girl all my dolls were called Polly.... hmmm

Wanda, Mark Antony, Alicia and Carlotta. Spot the various literary allusions. I didn't use any of them.

ReelAroundTheFountain · 11/10/2011 20:31

When I was about 9 I thought Priscilla was the most beautiful and sophisticated name ever.

luckily no dd's yet though 6 wks until dc3 arrives......

BedHog · 11/10/2011 20:31

Silas, Shannon and Lucretia (as in Borgia Hmm)

Haven't used any of them!!

toddlerama · 11/10/2011 20:32

I wanted to call a girl "Aqua". I didn't, but my sisters still like to remind me from time to time.

talkingnonsense · 11/10/2011 20:34

In 1979 I thought Jessica was the most sophisticated girls name ever. Would never use it now!

darksideofthemooncup · 11/10/2011 20:36

Red, Levi or Ziggy for a boy. Celeste or Isabella for a girl. I still really like Celeste but it wouldn't go with our surname.

SickleBOO · 11/10/2011 20:36

Matthew & Emily Blush

pinkmagic1 · 11/10/2011 20:39

Wanted 'Yasmin' for a girl as thought it was different and a bit edgy, without being to far fetched. I used it!

birdofthenorth · 11/10/2011 20:40

c1997 I was DEFINITELY going to call any future DS Bailey... after a character in Party Of Five!

TheCornishPickle · 11/10/2011 20:40

When I was about 10 I thought Patricia was the prettiest name. Or Janet. And that was the late 80's/early 90's. Good grief. I think I'll have some other names if ever lucky enough to have a dd.

I was going to have 2 girls and 2 boys and call them Marissa and Louisa, and Declan and Ethan.

In reality I have a Lauren, Chloe and Harry.

sweetandtenderhooligan · 11/10/2011 20:45

Early 80s (I was about 10) Helen and John

Early 90's Harley and Saffron for girls Blush or Jacob for a boy.

Thankfully I didn't have children until a decade later and didn't use any of the above :)

EssexNanny · 11/10/2011 20:45

When I was about 14 (mid 90's), my favourite names were Holly, Heidi and Oliver. I wouldn't use any of them now.
