When you were a child/teen what baby name were you going to 'definitely' use for future DC's?

...And did any of you actually use them?

You have to put the rough year too, so we can spot the trends, if any.

Me:

1991 (I was ten) I wanted Kylie and Trystin. Yes spelled like that. And Kylie had a heart above the 'i'. Ahem

1996 (fifteen) I wanted Phoebe Luna (had an interest in astronomy) and Maxwell Jordan.

Still love Phoebe now, the others...not so much!

At the age of ten I was dead set on calling any future DC Lloyd and Sapphire Blush

I like to think that I have slightly more sophisticated taste now :o

MackerelOfFact · 13/10/2011 15:44

As a small child I wanted a Lucy or Isobel, as an older child I wanted a daughter called Amber (would've settled for a dog though), and as a teen I wanted a Skye or Oscar.

Don't really like any of them now. Lucy and Isobel are quite nice but were never serious contenders for any of the DCs.

Ormirian · 13/10/2011 15:45

Jessica.

I was convinced it the height of feminine sophistication.

I didn't use it.

bruffin · 13/10/2011 16:06

Jordan back in the 70s

I loved this book A Time to Love, A Time to Mourn
Thankfully I grew up and my DCs now have classic biblical names

glastocat · 13/10/2011 16:18

Ages about 15, me and my two best mates had an argument over which of us would get to name our daughter Roxanne. I'm the only one of us who had a kid, and he's a boy, so no, it wasn't used! Grin Just as well because my surname rhymes with it!

Dillydollydaydream · 13/10/2011 16:19

I always wanted

Cyan Or Skye for a girl, Christian or Nicholas for a boy.
I now have 3 dc but didn't use any of my old favourite names.

DaydreamDolly · 13/10/2011 16:25

Hi Dillydollydaydream Grin

When I was 8 in 1978 I just knew that my first-born daughter would be called Jacqueline, because it was a name that smacked of maturity and sophistication, and you could pretend that Jackie magazine was named after you.

Thank god I grew out of that delusion pretty sharpish. My DDs are pretty grateful too, I think.

LaTristesse · 13/10/2011 20:54

Great thread!

I wanted to call a daughter Chianti when I was about 14, I don't believe I was a chavvy child, or a wino for that matter! Thankfully I grew up.

Rollon2012 · 13/10/2011 21:50

2002 michelle stephanie

2006 tristan adelphi -still love it

2008 Bryony Jack

eandemum · 13/10/2011 22:19

My 15 year old self (1987) too thought Jacqueline was the most exotic name ever Hmm
and for a boy...Blue Shock

pranma · 13/10/2011 22:28

Aged 14 (1988) I was confident I was going to have twin girls names Samantha and Siobhan.

Isla77 · 13/10/2011 22:44

My fantasy was to have two sets of twins - both sets would be girls. First set to be called Andrea and Esther and second set to be called Caroline and Louise. Neither of my daughters have those names.

scarlettlips · 14/10/2011 10:13

From the age of about 14 i've wanted an Honor....now we have one and i'm delighted.

Don't get me started on boys...!!!

prolificwillybreeder · 16/10/2011 11:44

Lily and Harry

Have neither. I was set on Harry but DS2 just didn't look like one!

startail · 16/10/2011 11:59

When i discovered my favourite great aunt "Gertrude" had a really pretty middle name, I always knew that if I had a DD she would call that.

wordsonapage · 16/10/2011 12:02

carlotta

Irrc she was the flashing eyed exotic circus girl from st clares

wordsonapage · 16/10/2011 12:03

Or Star from the lost boys ( I loved her hair)

startail · 16/10/2011 12:04

Oh and she is. DD2 isn't Rebbeca, which would have been my other teenage choice, since DH's first GF was called that and he wasn't quite comfortable about it.
In fact she ended up with the name of someone he fancied of TV who's name me, DD1 and the extended family all liked.
