Anyone for a WIP thread?

With the new year, I'm going for a low spend 2019.

On this note I have exactly eleventy million wip's to finish (rather than buy new yarn to start snother project). Does anyone else fancy a thread where we dig out old projects, start to finish those endless crochet blankets or just jolly each other along?

To start, I have a "door blanket" mid crochet (2m x 1m), and 4 christmas elves I knitted but did not finish.

I'm predominantly a knitter and bad crocheter, but any wip crafts welcome.

Anyone?

MollyHuaCha Its the Seaside Stashbusting Blanket from Coastal Crochet. You just use any wool you have - mine's mostly stylecraft left over from Attic24 blankets. It's great isn't it? I love crochet Grin

diamante thats the sort of crochet I cannot do! Well done (not sarcastic, I cannot do shapes in crochet at all). I do sell things from my own patterns. I also sell Alan Dart things, as he says that as long as you buy the patterns from him, and say it's his pattern, then he doesn't mind. Always check just in case.

Saying that loads of copywrited stuff turns up on etsy (much better for handmade stuff) and ebay (people want stuff for free basically).

Soooo. Confession time. I ordered an epic amount of ice yarn. Don't go on the website. Just don't!! I have planned lots of crochet projects with the 80 or so balls coming...I want to try a garment. But see my comment on shapes.

My temperature blanket is about 3 weeks behind, and have been doing massive amounts of homeworking (painting) this week and next, so no idea when I can craft. But, extra money.

Lonely 80 balls ShockShockGrin

I’ve lost my knitting mojo. Need it back. I’m just so tired in the evenings and there’s not much of a gap between eating dinner and going to bed, after the kids have been put to bed. But I have soooo much yarn I am feeling quite guilty. And I’ve just bought more fabric for patchwork blankets for the children.

I need to become very wealthy somehow, so I can stop work. And have a big enough house for a craft room.

I had a reeeealy long journey this week so finished some superwash wool welly boot socks which were meant to be for DD but were too big so fussy DS can wear them or DD can grow into them.
I'm only 2 weeks behind on my temperature blanket but at least 4 on end sewing.
I know the next step on my jacket I'm sewing but it's a hard one (I need to make a new front piece as I got the stretch wrong) so I'm putting it off. I can't sew anything else either as the jacket needs the right needles and thread in both machines.
DD was doing some D&T in Reception and complained they didn't have a sewing machine in school. That's my girl!

drspouse · 24/03/2019 22:08

I'm up to today on my temperature blanket and I've sewn all the ends in!
And my jacket of doom is almost done so I can put my overlocker back to sensible settings.
I need a very powerful magnifying glass to sort my sewing machine needles out though (or DH has just suggested taking pictures and zooming in).

I've just started a large scarf/wrap in this pattern - it's very effective and a great mindless TV knit once you get the hang of it. Not terribly happy with my yarn choice though, it's a Rico Creative yarn cake thing I got for Christmas. It's lovely and soft but very "splitty" as the four strands are all separate rather than twisted together as you'd expect.

Definitely prefer the Scheepjes Whirls.

I finished the Jacket of Doom, it's quite snug in the arms but has an excellent long back for cycling.
Then today I made a pair of pyjamas for DD AND started a pair of trousers for DS, I am so happy to have my machine back. I have a load of things cut out and both DCs keep growing. Though actually having gone through DS' drawers he is OK for trousers.

I should also make an extra letter for some name bunting for DS, I made them both knitted bunting but SOMEONE lost an I. DD's has been up for ages but I CBA to make that one extra letter.

Hello fellow crafters.

I am usually fairly good at finishing one project before starting another, but have a few on the go at at present.

I am meant to be knitting a fair isle jumper for my mother but have yet to cast on. It will be my first jumper for about 30 years.

I always have a pair of socks on the go - just a simple pair for when I need something easily transportable or when watching something good on TV. I particularly enjoy making scrappy socks.

I am making a cowl out of scrappy sock wool and it is taking for ever. I really need to get on with it.

My main projects currently are keps - long fair isle hats. I have just finished one, and have two more on the go - one for a competition in the summer.

I have done other crafts and will occasionally knit other things, but I love working on thin wool, especially Shetland wool.

drspouse · 04/04/2019 21:15

I didn't start the bunting letter, instead I started a sock. Oops.

ChristmasSeacow · 05/04/2019 22:35

Hi all!

I am not making much crafting progress at the moment - work and chores are taking over.

But DD (21m) has started getting interested in dinosaurs so I’ve just ‘accidentally’ bought a pattern for a T Rex. Oops. I’ll see what I have in my stash but generally I only have wool and I should probably use acrylic for a toy.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, my project list just got longer.... Blush

@SileneOliveira what is that pattern please? I really like the look of it!

drspouse · 07/04/2019 20:56

Finished DS trousers, and a top, and mended his duvet. I hate mending.

CraftyWoman · 17/04/2019 15:44

Great idea for a thread she says 9 pages in

I have:

A crochet cardi
A crochet rainbow squares blanket
A 12 point star blanket
3 different sizes of sanitary towels and
A Tilly and the Buttons top on the middle of being made.

Oh, and some bags

I am doomed to drown in wips, but they will all be finished. Working on the sanitary towels today.
