Woolly Garlands for Cupoftea's beautiful girls. Knitters and crocheters needed.

You may have been following the progress of Cupoftea?s beautiful daughter, Beatrice Primrose.
This project is to make garlands for Cupoftea?s daughters, to include the flowers in all their names and other lovely things. We would appreciate your help.

The idea is to make some garlands similar to this woolly one.

However, we would like to include the following:

Bees for Beatrice
Primroses
Violets and Daisies for Beatrice?s sisters
Flowers
Any decorative motifs
Triangular bunting that we can stitch crochet motifs onto (size to be confirmed)

If you are a knitter wanting to make bunting, garter stitch is preferable as it will lie flatter.

Unlike the blanket projects, these woolly things can be made from any wool.

I will post more details including sizes and links to patterns shortly.

Please sign up if you?d like to contribute.

Resurrecting this thread just to say that Bea has done really well but it looks like she might be losing her battle - see Bea's thread.
I expect many of you are already on the thread anyway - watching and waiting, hoping for better news.

My point in this post is wondering whether, should the worst befall Cup's family, a blanket for them would still be appropriate?

MessNessPess · 31/01/2012 23:01

I would think a blanket would be a lovely extra for the Teaset family maybe including the flowers, bees and initials within some squares.

ExitPursuedByaBear · 31/01/2012 23:09

OK - I have offered to provide wool for a previous blanket and Knotty said she would send me the details and didn't. I have been on Beatrice the Braves thread since the start and would love to be involved BUT I CAN'T KNIT so please, if anyone needs wool, please let me know and I will be happy to provide.

Exit - I'll be your knitter if it comes to it - I hope it's an empty promise. Praying hard for Cup and baby Bea in the meantime.

ExitPursuedByaBear · 01/02/2012 10:11

Didn't we you lovely ladies produce a blanket for whatevertheweather after her loss?

Trumpton · 01/02/2012 10:17

Marking my place as I have been involved with the other Woolly Hugs. My hopes and thoughts are with the Teaset family and anyothers who are travelling such a hard road .

I think a blanket would be a lovely idea, Thumb - if the worst comes to the worst. Every time I am involved in one of these, it brings home to me again, just how lovely mumsnetters are.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/02/2012 11:07

And I am glad that Woolly Hugs? has caught on.

Thumbwitch · 01/02/2012 11:08

Exit, I'm pretty sure a blanket was done for Whatever, wasn't it? And one for Cheese& Gherkins, and one for Chipmonkey. To say nothing of the ones for Magic8ball's family.

The blanket teams are the most wonderful people and I'm proud to contribute my mite to it by paying for some wool for another fabulous person to knit up for me.

SoupDragon · 01/02/2012 11:57

Yes, blankets were done for all those.

Thumbwitch · 01/02/2012 12:44

Looks like I've been a little premature anyway - FX it's totally unnecessary.

DutchOma · 01/02/2012 13:04

There was also a banner in the maiking, but I don't know if that didn't get swallowed up in Knotty's real life. Would be no surprise if it did. We wanted to do a garland rather than a blanket because Beatrice was (and is, thank you, Lord) still with us.

Thumbwitch · 02/02/2012 11:25

Have just seen pics of Bea under a snuggly MN blanket, so I guess that answers that question then! She's improving, thank God - and long may she continue to do so :)

SoupDragon · 02/02/2012 11:42

LOL - I"ve just seen that too :)
