Woolly Garlands for Cupoftea's beautiful girls. Knitters and crocheters needed.

You may have been following the progress of Cupoftea?s beautiful daughter, Beatrice Primrose.
This project is to make garlands for Cupoftea?s daughters, to include the flowers in all their names and other lovely things. We would appreciate your help.

The idea is to make some garlands similar to this woolly one.

However, we would like to include the following:

Bees for Beatrice
Primroses
Violets and Daisies for Beatrice?s sisters
Flowers
Any decorative motifs
Triangular bunting that we can stitch crochet motifs onto (size to be confirmed)

If you are a knitter wanting to make bunting, garter stitch is preferable as it will lie flatter.

Unlike the blanket projects, these woolly things can be made from any wool.

I will post more details including sizes and links to patterns shortly.

Please sign up if you?d like to contribute.

Yes it is. If you look closely there is a dragon in my name :)

I have 3 bunts, one bee, 4 primroses and a large smiley sun. And the freebie ball of yellow wool.

I can carry on crocheting this evening if you let me know what you'd like more of and post first thing, first class, tomorrow.

KnottyLocks · 16/10/2011 14:26

Soupy, any flowers would be good. Or pretty hangy things Smile

It was the dragon that gave me the clue! Sharp, me Grin

The flowers are a piece of cake, taking 15 mins max (including pesky ends).

the sun is almost bunt sized and stuffed. It was labelled a Little Ray of
Sunshine an the same blog as the primroses and it seemed appropriate. I think I need to adjust his smile though as I'm not sure it looks right.

KnottyLocks · 16/10/2011 22:45

Oh that's lovely, Soupy. A little ray of sunshine Smile There's nothing wrong with his smile.

SeveredHeadsDragonTheFloor · 17/10/2011 11:02

LOL.
I unpicked his smile and gouged out his eyes (well it is nearly Halloween) and redid the smile and replaced the eyes with safety eyes.

I have sewn in all but one Pesky End which I left because it was exceptionally long and thus probably good for attaching that particular flower.

VeryLittleGhastliness · 17/10/2011 11:47

Nell they are less tricksy then I thought they would be...the biggest issue is working out the pattern from scratch, as I didn't like the look of any of the freebie ones online.

I've done Prof.Inkling and Dr Shellington (both 2.5 inches tall). Peso Penguin is next. Now I've worked out the basic body shape it's just a matter of altering colour/tails/ears to suit.

Knotty I will post stuff on Tuesday as I am malingering under the duvet with the baby today (we are both recovering from Bronchitis)...hope that's not too late.

KnottyLocks · 17/10/2011 12:16

Very, Tuesday is fine, Wednesday is also fine if you're not well enough. Sorry you're feeling rough: bronchitis is nasty.

I won't get near the garland stuff until the end of the week anyhow as I'm trying to finish off the blanket for Whatevertheweather before half-term and the chaos that brings.

Soupy, that all sounds fantabulous. Apart from the gouging Grin

Much woolly loveliness has just arrived from:

Piste Star - I've muched the chocolate already Blush

JulesJules Star - it's great, stop your worrying Smile

LadyWellian Star - it really does look more like a flower than a fried egg, or a merkin, honest Grin

Nell Star - you are right, it's an explosion of colour. Wonderful. As is the choc. Smile

LadyWellian · 17/10/2011 13:18

Oh good Grin

KnottyLocks · 17/10/2011 13:21

Thanks for your note, it made me chuckle Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/10/2011 13:40

Shock @ merkin Grin

SeveredHeadsDragonTheFloor · 17/10/2011 13:43

It's not too late for me to crochet a merkin and pop it in the package... Just say the word, I have some brown wool.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/10/2011 13:47

Knotty - I included the Spooks Bunt, which is the cream one that has a very frilly edge cos I kept losing my concentration Smile

KnottyLocks · 17/10/2011 13:51

I lose my concentration all the....

LadyWellian · 17/10/2011 13:52

The 'merkin' made DH chuckle too. Perhaps I should have held it up higher?

I've got some of this wool somewhere, which would knit into a super merkin.

KnottyLocks · 17/10/2011 14:29

A foxy merkin? Grin

SeveredHeadsDragonTheFloor · 17/10/2011 16:44

a very 1970s full on merkin :o

Bunts and stuff duly posted by SmallDragon1, chocolate he bought at the same time duly scoffed

On to the blanket squares now.

GhoulsGhouls · 17/10/2011 17:05

Glad my bnunt arrived and isn't too terrible.

Should have done a merkin Grin

KnottyLocks · 17/10/2011 17:33

Maybe we should have a merkin project, just for fun. It would be quite nice to have a frivolous thing.

Prize for the best one.

LadyWellian · 17/10/2011 17:44

They'd go lovely with the knitted boobs.

SeveredHeadsDragonTheFloor · 17/10/2011 17:44

Ravelry doesn't have any merkin patterns.

Allegedly.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/10/2011 18:38
Grin If Knotty makes my knitted boobs in time, I'm going to wear them to the MN Christmas do

I will look lovely...

DutchOma · 18/10/2011 09:02

Blush had to Google what a merkin was.

KnottyLocks · 18/10/2011 09:21

Oma, no shame there. I bet you wish you hadn't now Smile
