To thin my 'friends' shouldn't really have been bitching about what I wore to go sledging on Saturday?

I've just got one of those accidentally forwarded emails (at least I ope it was accidental)

I went sledging with an old uni friend , her friends and all of our DC's we had a really fab day.

Now reading this 11 reply long email laughing about what I wore.

I have no idea how I should respond but I damn well want them to know I have seen it.

What on earth did it say? Are you sure it was about you? If it was, are you sure it wasn't supposed to be a joke?

(what did you wear, btw - just in case we need to get judgey!

And are you sure these are your friends?!

Were you wearing a short skirt with bare legs and heels?

SnowTulips · 11/01/2010 12:48

what utter bitches

thelunar66 · 11/01/2010 12:49

Post it on here, so we can decide

ajandjjmum · 11/01/2010 12:50

What did it say - I'm sure there are talented mumsnetters who could come up with a suitably scathing response to be circulated to all!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 12:50

Right gimme a sec I'll post it now...hope none are mumsnetters

They are not your friends, even if you were wearing a tutu, lumberjack shirt and flip flops.

LouLouH · 11/01/2010 12:52

coem on girl, get the email up. We'll all think of a perfectly bitchy comeback for you!

fillybuster · 11/01/2010 12:53

for TDWP and reaching for the poison pen to create a suitably catty reply already...

MillyR · 11/01/2010 12:53

I don't care if you were in a bikini; they are rotters to email about it.

LouLouH · 11/01/2010 12:55

I think they're jealous of you and have to bitch about you to heighten their already low self esteem. Slags!

pagwatch · 11/01/2010 12:55

but I thought you looked lovely

ChickensHaveFrozenNuggets · 11/01/2010 12:56

LouLouH, get it right. It's 'slaaaaaaaaaags!' , followed possibly by 'caaaaaaaaaah face'.

MrsChemist · 11/01/2010 12:56

If you were my friend and wearing something grossly inappropriate for the weather (e.g. thong bikini, and nothing else) I would ask you why to your face. Anything else and I wouldn't give too shits. My friends can wear whatever the hell they like.

If they are bitching about sledging clothes they need to get a fucking life.

tulpe · 11/01/2010 12:57

LOL @ Pagwatch

Seriously, this sounds a horrid thing to be on the receiving end of. YANBU to be upset by it and definitely NBU to want to respond in some way.

DecorHate · 11/01/2010 12:57

I bet you looked glam and fab and they are jealous! (or maybe you were unstylish but warm and they are shallow!)

LouLouH · 11/01/2010 12:57

haha amazing pagwatch!

I think TDWP should send back your pic with her head imposed on it and say, well i should have worn this instead!

juneybean · 11/01/2010 12:58

maybe they were jealous of your warmth

fillybuster · 11/01/2010 12:58

lol @ Pag...do you know, if my stomach had ever looked like that, I think I could die happy....

DoingTheBestICan · 11/01/2010 12:59

Ha ha Pagwatch thats very funny.

Your friends sound like a load of spiteful cows.

DoingTheBestICan · 11/01/2010 13:00

Marking place as i am a nosy cow & want to know what was said in the email.

Heqet · 11/01/2010 13:00

I think a simple reply all

I think I was sent this email in error.

Would suffice.

You don't need to say much. In fact, to come back with a long rant is less effective, because it distracts from the email sent to you and somehow makes it a, how to put it? 2-way bitch iyswim. That's not quite what I mean but I can't think how to put it

Just "I think I was sent this email in error." is enough to have them all cringing. It's dignified, it lets them know you've seen it and it leaves them trying to imagine what you think etc.

Punish them by having them punish themselves.

MamaLazarou · 11/01/2010 13:00

YANBU, silly bitches with nothing better to do.

pagwatch · 11/01/2010 13:01

me too filly. I have never had such a well kept muff either.

TDWP I hope you are not too upset. it is horrid to 'eavesdrop' on something like this.
