To thin my 'friends' shouldn't really have been bitching about what I wore to go sledging on Saturday?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 12:46

I've just got one of those accidentally forwarded emails (at least I ope it was accidental)

I went sledging with an old uni friend , her friends and all of our DC's we had a really fab day.

Now reading this 11 reply long email laughing about what I wore.

I have no idea how I should respond but I damn well want them to know I have seen it.

You've probably already replied but the other reply you could have done is

'Not sure why this has been sent to me'

Has fab cringe making potential although I would be surprised if anyone actually replies.

I would be limiting my contact with this group as I assume this isn't the first time they have commented on you - the ones you have pasted have a bit of a 'look what she has done now' flavour about them.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/01/2010 13:23

Don't say sorry at the beginning! Even if it is just a token meaninless sorry. Don't.

twats twats twats -- what are they 13 years old? Not only would I never say that about a friend (or even casual acquaintance), but I actually think my group of friends would be if any of us said something so bitchy about anyone we know. No worthwhile person chooses who they spend time with based on clothing!

(but FWIW, I think what you were wearing sounds awesome)

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 13:23

Oh my 'fanny' was more than warm thanks.

It has its own insulating system.

OP posts:
cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 13:23

agree with mollie

joanne34 · 11/01/2010 13:26

Dear OP

I'm guessing you have fantastic legs and they are all bitterly jealous !

What a bunch of squares !

2010aQuintessentialOdyssey · 11/01/2010 13:27

sorry tdwp what idiots.
They have probably realized by now that you have been added, have taken you off the list and is now continuing bitching without you.

Please do as Heget suggests.
It will make them squirm and you will come across very dignified.

fillybuster · 11/01/2010 13:27

Any responses yet?

theressomethingaboutmarie · 11/01/2010 13:28

What a pack of bitches; you deserve better. You've been very dignified in your response and I hope that they all have cold sweats when they read your reply...

nickelbabe · 11/01/2010 13:29

quote:

2 pairs of opaque purple tights with cycling shorts underneath

Knee length grey leather boots

Black shellsuit material short dress
Many layers under the dress (long sleeved top, jumper, vest)

And a leather jacket

I think that sounds likea sensible outfit.
you're warm and togged up, but you can always stripa pair of tights when the top one gets wet..
and cycling shorts underneath too is more than enough to keep warm! (i wouldn't have bothered with the shorts myself, so you'd be warmer than me!)

pagwatch · 11/01/2010 13:30

TDWP has a quite luxurious muff if you would but look at the photo...I am sure she was toastie.

TDWP. Didn't you used to have profile pictures or am I dreaming it. I have subliminal recollections of you as being quite spectacularly beautiful.
Or perhaps I just have a MN style virtual crush

cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 13:31

i think with the power of mn,we should all start wearing purple tights out and about to support tdwp and so tdwp friends all realise what a style icon she is!theyll be emailing each other saying 'what a trendsetter'

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 13:31

Ah a response!

From one who wasn't involved at all so I won't c&P it.

She said she'd just seen it and her jaw dropped at how mean they were.

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 13:32

ark purple tights are actually very cool dontcha know.

OP posts:
cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 13:32

pag i thought that too!very trendy and young and bootiful from what i remember!

posieparker · 11/01/2010 13:36

Basically OP, from your profile, I can see that you're attractive and take good care of yourself?

Either your 'friends' are jealous or you are shallow? Personally less is more in these situations. The reply to all 'I think I was sent this in error' is the best response.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 13:36

I thought my profile was still there? ( I did have festive namechanges though)

But thanks you lovelies. I'm not quite so cute - you should see my eyebags and thighs.

OP posts:
Bicnod · 11/01/2010 13:39

Just read this thread and am and on your behalf TDWP - what total cows

Good on you for doing the dignified thing - I hope they are squirming at their computers right now.

FWIW I think your outfit sounds fab

cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 13:41

erm yes you are!and eye bags and not so perfect thighs are all part of having dc!

pagwatch · 11/01/2010 13:42

TDWP - your profile is back for me now. It keeps flitting but that may be my MN.

Profile was the one I remembered. Sadly I suspect that explains the bitching. Bags or not they are probably jealous.

RoseWater · 11/01/2010 13:42

What a bunch of bitches they are

Waiting to see what cringing replies they come back with

Garrylous · 11/01/2010 13:43

DWP
it is odd to wear a dress sledging

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 13:45

Garrylous Really?

My DD wore a dress too.

As I said tights dry faster than jeans or other thick trousers. What is the problem?

Are you one on the list

OP posts:
SofaQueen · 11/01/2010 13:46

Your outfit sound just fine. I am also a person who was out sledging yesterday in tights (2 layers), knee-high boots, and mini-dress length jumper-dress and I was toasty warm and comfortable. I find trousers restrictive and dresses much more comfortable (and easier to wear).

What cows. They most probably all pressed the "reply all" button without realising that you were also addressed on the e-mail. My vote is for the polite response. They will all be pretty mortified (and rightly so!).

compo · 11/01/2010 13:46

you could have taken a pair of trousers to change into?

ah I dunno, round here Iwould ahev found it odd
maybe in London it's considered trendy?
sounds like you need a new set of friends who can keep up with you

cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 13:47
