But really, I do wonder when I see a flashy subaru 4x4, child immaculately dressed and the mother has an expensive coat on, over pj's. How long does it take to put a pair of jeans on ffs?

I shit you not, I once saw one of the offenders in pj's and heels.

Or is this some high fashion thing I just don't get?

oh I love that. No really I do. Good on them for not being arsed and for having the time not to have to get dressed. Wish I could!

Are you sure they are not just those baggy jersey slouchy trousers?

They should do what I do, and sleep in their clothes and nobody would know. - I don't mean jeans, I mean causual yoga stuff.

Now I'd love to be that mum, but, as Dd1 started nursery this week, I found myself getting up mega early, selecting an outfit, doing my hair and putting on make-up. WTF?

Oh there was a thread on this recently, prompted by something in Ireland I think, where headteachers were begging parents not to do the school run in pjs.

I think it's horrible actually - slovenly and lazy and generally disgusting. Not to mention dirty. Perhaps I am too uptight?

I have seen this increasingly , there was a thread on it here a while back and it made me notice mums with immaculate hair names, the rest and then PJs.

It was all the rage here, NOT ME, to wear PJs and have a full face of make up, shoes etc. People in Belfast did it so others copied. Why I have no idea.

I suspect if it's women in very expensive car wtih immaculate hair then they are making a statement that they don't have to go out to work and are back off to bed for a wee nap before luncheon with the girls. Lucky swines

Do any MNers actually do the school run in their PJs? Can;t imagine it myself (particuarly can't see me heading any past the front door without me bra on)

Hmmm - I don't see the problem with it tbh. I never get dressed up in the morning at all. At dd2's school you do get these perfectly groomed mums in boden wrap dresses at 8.30am. Usually I am very careful with my appearance but not at that time when I am trying to remember two sets of paraphernalia for two children, and more often than not always forgetting something! But if I was going to a school play or something I would make an effort.
