To think mums shouldn't do drop at nursery in their pyjamas?

I know they may have been up all night with a newborn, depressed, etc etc.

But really, I do wonder when I see a flashy subaru 4x4, child immaculately dressed and the mother has an expensive coat on, over pj's. How long does it take to put a pair of jeans on ffs?

I shit you not, I once saw one of the offenders in pj's and heels.

Or is this some high fashion thing I just don't get?

Also at least the kids are dressed nicely and not in there Pj's isnt that more inportant than what the parents are wearing????

OrmIrian · 11/09/2008 13:32

I'd just be jealous. I've always had to be dressed and respectable for work.

cocolepew · 11/09/2008 13:32

I went to the Spar in my jammies once. Gone on, you can judge me if you want.

LynetteScavo · 11/09/2008 13:35

But Anna - aren't you in Paris?

Wopuldn't a Parisian parent be sectioned for dropping a child of wearing PJS?

titchy · 11/09/2008 13:36

If it's morning nursery so what? If it's an afternoon session then maybe you'd have a point....

expatinscotland · 11/09/2008 13:37

haven't we been round this block before?

over and over?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/09/2008 13:42

I haven't been around this block before expat, apologies for boring you.

twoluvlykids · 11/09/2008 13:43

sure they're pj's and not designer "shell suits" ??????

OneLieIn · 11/09/2008 13:44

My mum used to drop me off at school in PJs (well it was a nightie with a rainmac over the top) until she broke down and had to walk for a mile to get help.

Hilarious.

niceglasses · 11/09/2008 13:44

Maybe they are having fantastic sex just before they leave the house and heave on the old pjs at the last mo.

Or,

trying to hard to be 'i'm very cool and opting out of the 'what is the perfect schl run dress'.....

Or,

Lordy, who gives a *?

DrNortherner · 11/09/2008 13:45

Well in the grand scheme of things it's hardly a crime, though I would never do it.

Doesn't take long to shove a pair of jeans on does it? Even if you shove acoat on over your PJ top.

CostaRicanCod · 11/09/2008 13:45

rofl at "anna arent you in paris"

Anna8888 · 11/09/2008 13:46

sectioned . No - much worse. Irreversible social ostracism. A crime no penance could redeem.

Megglevache · 11/09/2008 13:48

Maybe there are all doing sponsored walks after and you just don't know it.

Megglevache · 11/09/2008 13:48

there= they're

TrinityRhino · 11/09/2008 13:49

see now I have done and will do this again
when we are getting ready in the morning because I have 2 under 4(both withs asbos ) I am the last one to get ready

I dont put much priority on making sure my clothes and washed so I can sometimes run out of clothes

I dont have many that fit or even just many at all
(working on that but takes time to save up)

I think ooops, can't go out in the nude

and I throwon the cleanest thing to hand which is oftne my jammies
they are only worn in the evning for an hour or so generally when the kids are in bed so less likely to get covered in snot, jam etc...
I think you have a cheek to mention she has a 4x4, what the hell difference does that make??????

she just couldn't be arsed to put something else on
What business is it of yours?
Would you be bothered if you saw me on a day when I wasn't wearingmy jammies bottoms because I was wearing leggings, a denim mini skirt, pink bra, strappy red top and huge furry leopard print hat eh???

Would that bother you too just because you wouldn't wear it???

DrNortherner · 11/09/2008 13:49

Anyway I think PJ's are indoor clothes and are contaminated when you go outside in them (like chef's whites) so it would only increase your washing pile.

francagoestohollywood · 11/09/2008 13:49

Mothers in PJ are a mythological figure. I've never seem one.

TrinityRhino · 11/09/2008 13:50

and why do you know they haven't had a shower?????
I had a shower the night before, sept naked in a clean bed and then popped on relatively unworm jammie bottoms

2beornot2be · 11/09/2008 13:50

Again why does it bother people so much??

I see really badly dressed stinking people on the street in town but it does not bother me as long as they are not my friend or family I could not care less what people wear

lulumama · 11/09/2008 13:51

same here franca.

TrinityRhino · 11/09/2008 13:51

franca, I am not mythical

Isn't it the modern-day equivalent of Hilda Ogden being in her curlers and headscarf?

Sort of attempting to make a statement such as "I am saving my best for something else and I feel it would be a waste of my fabby real clothes to wear them doing something as mundane as dropping my kids of to school."

But actually just looking . . . erm . . . as impressive as poor old Hilda.

Quattrocento · 11/09/2008 13:52

Expat is right - we've done this before

think this was the article that started the last thread

LOL at sectioning people dropping off in pjs. Only in Paris though.
