I had an appointment on Monday, put on my coat and left didnt check my reflection upon leaving by the door as we were running late.

I spoke to an eldelry lady i knew by the bus stop, the bus driver who I had to explain to repeatedly where was getting off at, a friendly mum I knew from the school run, the receptionist at said appointment, the owner of the business, 3 or 4 people who walked past me smiling at my newborn, the two people I had the appointment with , my own children who were 4 and 6 as well as two more members of staff we passed on our way to the meeting room. And yet no one wanted to tell me I had a CHEESY WOTSIT crisp stuck to my headscarf right next to my mouth the part I wrap under my chin literally 2cm from my mouth if that boldy sticking there. I felt my hijab coming loose so I tucked it a bit more in, sat there smiling and engaging in conversation with two professionals asking me questions and Im rubbing the side of my face until I felt the wotsit and tried to causally use my hand to cover me taking it off and holding it in my hand for the rest of the appointment. Why are people horrible??

I spent 4 hours yesterday with my blouse back to front (pull-on tunic style, no buttons). I kept thinking it felt a bit tight across my bust and throat but either no-one noticed or thought it would be more embarrassing for me to mention it. I only noticed when I checked the label in the toilet at lunchtime.

People who have reached out to help (either literally, or saying something) have been called creeps or worse. A kind old lady once pulled something out my hair, and a coworker haruumphed that it was assault to touch someone without permission! People who have commented on appearance have been called creepy.

I once walked my kids round to the school bus stop, chatting to several other parents. Got home to realise I had a bra hanging jauntily off my shoulder, snagged on my woolly scarf.

I’m sorry to laugh at your expense, but I’ve just experienced the best belly laugh I’ve had for ages! I mean this kindly.

😂 I absolutely love this thread. I needed a laugh today.

I once had one of those plastic cheese slices stuck to my chest in the v of my blouse. No one noticed as it was quite skin coloured, and I found it luckily before I got up to do a presentation to 200 people!

Looking back I’m most horrified at eating plastic cheese slices I would never buy them now!

Just before we all switched to wide trousers I noticed a colleague in the kitchen had a bulge at the back of her calf.

I just didn’t know her well enough to say “Kerry, d’you know you’ve got yesterday’s knickers down your leg?”

Flicitytricity · Yesterday 18:53

Oh OP, been there, done it, got the 17 t shirts🤣
Pre children, during a spending the whole weekend in bed together, I needed to go to the local shop to buy ciggies ( don't judge, gave them up donkeys years ago).
Pulled on yesterday's clothes and trotted off.
Had a brief conversation with neighbour, spent time with puppy from a few doors away, did my shop, nattering away to all and sundry and arrived home, trailing tights and knickers from one leg of the jeans I'd pulled on🥴
Second one was post children when I had waist long hair i liked to curl a la Farah Fawcett😅
I'd had rollers in all morning, then took the boys out to do some clothes shopping, had lunch, then took them to the park. A three year old then pointed out that I still had a roller in my head, directly behind my fringe... kids said they thought I was being funky.
Honestly OP, just eat the wotsit🤣

I remember saying to my dd how brilliant Olbas Oil is as I'd had the bottle for years and it was still practically full.

Turns out you're meant to put some on a tissue , I'd just been opening the bottle and sniffing it . Used to do it at work, nobody said anything !

Oh I had one that made me want to leave the country once about 2 years ago.

I hadn't been well and wasn't sleeping properly. I slept through the school alarm, my youngest was 6 so not old enough to set one herself. I rushed up, got dressed, quickly fed and dressed my child and chucked a chunky knitted cardi on on the way to the car. It was on my bedroom floor, fallen off the back of a chair.

Got out of the car and took her to her classroom. Hundreds of people doing the same. Left the school, popped into Tesco made some small talk and picked up a few bits. Got more paracetamol for myself so also made small talk with the cashier who had to come to my self serve to authorise it.

Got back in the car and the school phoned me, my daughter had been sick can I please go and collect her.

Off I went back to school. Walked to the office, spoke to the receptionist then to her teacher who brought her to me.

Drove home. Walked past the mirror in my hallway.......there was an INSIDE OUT and clearly worn pair of lacy knickers sat right on the breast of my cardigan. No disguising them. The material stuck to the wool of the cardigan. I had no idea at all they were there. Id spoken to ALL of those people, done the school run twice and been shopping the whole while with a dirty gusset on display for the world to see. Not a single person pointed it out to me.

I still die a bit inside every time I think about it. 😬

Used to work as a cleaner in some offices with about 12 other people, both male and female. The boss decided she wanted us all in on a Saturday morning to do a deep clean because the offices would be empty. We were to meet in the security guards office fir a briefing.
That morning, I was late getting up, so got dressed quickly, grabbed a clean jumper off a pile, put my coat on and off I went.
Got to the gatehouse. Was a bit late so everyone else was there. Dashed in, took my coat off and proceeded to lean over my chair to hang it on the back. Everyone went quiet.
Turned round to see a white bra on the floor. I burst out laughing and said " Bloody hell, where did that come from?"
The security guard said " It's was hooked on your jumper and landed on the floor when you took your coat off"
I then had to do the walk of shame to pick it up and shove it in my pocket...

Not mine but my sisters cringe moment. She had one of those rain jackets that have velcro tabs for loosening/tightening the coat.
One morning my sister went to work, got on the bus. A few people looked at her as she passed but she thought nothing of it. When she got into work and hung her coat in ths staff room she realised......there was pair of her knickers attached to the velcrotab on the back of her coat.......

If it helps I left the house in a rush at 7.15 this morning after a good battle getting DD ready for school as she was not in the mood for teeth, hair etc. I left her hair in a beautiful plait. I work in a lab so no need to dress up for work however I realised as I ran out to the car that I hadn't brushed my hair or anything. Just threw it in a messy bun for a shower. I patted my head and it didn't feel terrible and I had no time so shrugged and ran off to work. Got into work and my very stylish colleague said first thing "your hair looks amazing today. I can never get a messy bun correct, how do you manage it?" "Um, it was a fluke but I decided I wasn't going to interfere with it." The only time my hair gets a compliment is when I forgot to even brush it. 😂

I wore white trousers for a flight and dropped my coke. It ran into my crotch and underneath me, I looked like I'd shit myself by the time we landed in New York about six hours later.

Sewingbeedamned · Yesterday 20:52

I think you cant underestimate how unobservant people are. But also how much they dont want to embarass you by pointing something out.

NeedMoreTinfoil · Yesterday 21:49

I once managed to leave the house with toothpaste smeared on my forehead. I travelled on one, maybe two buses, and was seated in a cafe before I realised. I was with my DH the whole time and he said NOTHING 😂

I also went on a log flume ride on a trip to a seaside amusement park with work colleagues. Water splashed in right at the end although I was the only one soaked. Right at the crotch of my jeans so it looked like I wet myself...

Peaceandquietandacuppa · Yesterday 21:53

I forgot to rub my blusher in and went to a hotel breakfast… I was also by myself and not a SINGLE person told me!! I got a lot of weird looks however. Luckily I went back to my room after breakfast before going to my work event 😅

When I was a toddler, my dad let me put make up on him - one of those little kiddie sets with blue eyeshadow, neon pink blush, etc.

He forgot about it and went to the shop a few hours later, then told my mum when he got home that people had been giving him odd looks. She pointed out that it was probably because he looked like a panto dame 😂

🤣🤣🤣

As a young mum I did the main supermarket shop one evening using a large rucksack to
carry the heavy stuff home. I was wearing a shortish loose skirt. I hoiked the rucksack up along with the whole of the back of the skirt and walked all the way home - about 500 metres along a busy road - before my horrified husband told me as I entered the house to unload the shopping.

Hands down the best this is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Went to work last week wearing one navy Spezial and one brown Spezial, walked around the office all morning, went to the shop at lunch and then at 3.00pm my colleague asked if my odd trainers were an intentional thing. He'd noticed at 8.00am but didn't want to say anything as there's nothing I could've done anyway!

Oh dear! I have a couple

Years ago I picked up my son from preschool with my trousers on inside out and another mum pointed out the label

last year when I stood up to get off the train my dress rode up over my bum another lady kindly grabbed it and pulled it down

I had my temperature taken with an ear probe just prior to an operation. I'd had a very rushed shower because I had to be at the hospital quite early. Perhaps too rushed. After the nurse left I scratched my ear and discovered it was full of conditioner! She hadn't said anything.
