What would the Left call the Right, if the small boat people were white?

I'll start by saying, I am very anti open boarders, and I am horrified that so many illegal immigrants are arriving every day. But for me, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour, it is more to do with :

ONE) They have no documentation, and we have no idea if they have criminal backgrounds

TWO) They tend to come from cultures where women are not respected

THREE) They often come from places where rape is not a crime

FOUR) They cannot work, and it is costing Millions to house, feed and clothe them

FIVE) We are granting asylum to some people who should never get it - like the Hamas bodyguard we heard of yesterday

Lots of valid reasons I feel, however, for me, it has nothing to do with skin colour. If I had to be locked in a room overnight with a white man from a backward culture, or a black man from the UK, I would choose the latter, every single time.

It isn't colour, it's culture

But I see that people on the Far Left just scream "Racist" to anyone who opposes illegal immigration. What would they scream, if all the small boats were full of white men? And would people still march for England?

Just because our own men rape, doesn't mean it's a good idea to allow more men (from cultures where rape is not a crime) to enter our Country and compound the problem. It makes no sense.

Where is rape not a crime? Possibly is stateless places (very few of those). And definitions vary. And convictions rates are parlous everywhere, including the UK. But I can’t think of any countries where rape isn’t a crime at all.

Have you been living under a rock? There have been umpteen attacks by illegal immigrants and many, many rapes.

Here's the latest one to be sentenced, www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm2g97nv36go

I think it is useful to clear up the terminology. Arriving by small boat is irregular, not necessarily illegal since the Conservative party changed the rules to make it impossible to seek asylum without being on UK soil. Also, small boat crossings are a very small amount of overall irregular immigrants (less than 1%), so while it is a problem, it isn't the massive problem Farage and the media would have us believe.

Then, there is the fact that they aren't given "loadsamoney" they are housed and paid subsistence, but it isn't an open cheque book. I certainly wouldn't want to live on what they're given and be housed in a room with several others.

The real issue is what draws people here, how quickly they can be processed, and what we do with them once they are.

The draw is the difficult one to solve as the traffickers will be selling a dream even though there isn't one. The current labour government have already deployed additional resource to processing and are returning twice as many as arrive. Even if an asylum claim is granted, the status is reviewed periodically to evaluate whether the circumstances are still valid. If they aren't, the individual is deported.

Pre-Brexit, the UK had the lowest rate of acceptance, and still had more options available to further lower the rate of acceptance, however we elected to leave the EU and make the problem much worse.

It would be much better to deploy even more resource to clearing the backlog, and I am still curious as to why the rule to make it impossible to claim asylum unless you are here has not been revoked.

Arriving by small boat is irregular It is almost daily.

Then, there is the fact that they aren't given "loadsamoney" they are housed and paid subsistence, but it isn't an open cheque book. I certainly wouldn't want to live on what they're given Which would encourage crime, like stealing or working illegally to top up funds.

I would not be housing, feeding, clothing anyone that broke into my home therefore i certainly don't open my arms to welcome any undocumented person that lands on our shores,
Our country spends a fortune on foreign aid every year so as far as i am concerned we have done our bit. Tax payers are shouldering a massive burden housing tens of thousands of people without documents ( purposely without documents) and it really can't continue.
If that makes me racist, then fine.

Apparently they reproduce via Mitosis the moment they touch British soil

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/09/2026 13:48

Rape isn’t legal there. Their definition of rape is wrong as far as I am concerned, but rape isn’t legal in those countries.

It means they're deporting those that are already here. Obviously.

In which countries is rape not a crime, OP?

In Afghanistan and Iran the legal systems require extreme burdens of proof (such as multiple male eyewitnesses) and reporting an assault can frequently result in the victim being prosecuted instead of the attacker.

'Arriving by small boat is irregular It is almost daily.'

Thats not what irregular means in this context.

Not the same as rape being legal. I do agree that rape being so infrequently prosecuted as to be functionally legal is a huge and horrifying issue worldwide.

Where is your limit? We are one small island. We cannot offer 'asylum' to any man who wants it

We already take less than our fair share of asylum seekers and refugees. Or are you one of those who thinks we're in some way way special because we're an island and our obligation should be less?

titchy · 29/09/2026 13:57

AlwaysExtraHot · 29/09/2026 13:39

If people seeking asylum could work that would help with a lot of problems.

Then they’d be ‘coming over here taking jobs from hard-working Brits’.

Blondiebeachbabe · 29/09/2026 13:57

I think we have to recognise as well, that men that come here from countries where women are covered from head to toe, must get a huge shock when they see women dressed in next to nothing, walking down city centre streets drunk. They will be seeing, legs, cleavage etc, that they have never seen before. Add to that, the fact that they haven't had sex before, or have certainly not had sex for a long time, and I think this is a recipe for disaster.

In the UK of course, most rape victims are more than happy to report their assault knowing that they will be believed and the perpetrator punished.

oh wait…

Mouldemort · 29/09/2026 14:00

It's definitely racism, but sure - xenophobia against white people from poor countries is also prevalent.

In answer to your points

  1. Asylum seekers are no more likely to commit crime than anyone. Those protesting against them - 40% at least have domestic violence convictions.
  2. See above. It's those opposing the asylum seekers who have form for the abuse of women, not the asylum seekers.
  3. Again, they are not committing any more crime than the native population and absolutely less than those opposing them.
  4. They cannot work because we won't let them work. They are paid £5 a day. If we let them work, let many countries do, that problem would disappear.
  5. See 1. Any group of people have bad people in them, asylum seekers are much less likely to have committed crime than those opposing them.

Asylum seekers are a small proportion of immigrants, immigration and net migration have both gone down even taking into account changes of counting, and yet people are shrieking more about asylum seekers than ever. It's almost as if it's a racist moral panic. The people most opposed to migration come from areas where there are close to zero migrants.

Yes, true Grin

ProjectFailScary · 29/09/2026 14:02

Some of the greatest "noncebonnets" and leading figures on the Right have the biggest gobs literally and on social media and peddle such lies to artificially inflate the migrant issue to something much bigger than it is.

Cross Channel boats are massively down. People don't think to risk their lives on an overcrowded dinghy crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes with an acute risk to life if they weren't desperate. Most migrants crossing the Channel illegally want to work and/or join someone they know who is already here. It's not a case of, they want to come here, live off the State, rape our girls and live the Life of Riley.

It's total bollocks peddled by men, mostly, who say they are Christian, have vested interests for whatever reason (money) to spread misinformation. Who, in their private lives, treat women like shit. They get so much publicity on SM and on TV News that in their echo chamber, they think they are doing the right thing. Any reasonable person can see right through their agenda. And they grift! They grift so hard!

I once saw a poster slapped up on an old phone box years ago after a protest in London which read, "Tommy Robinson is a wasteman. The enemy doesn't arrive by boat, he arrives by limousine..." True!

Mouldemort · 29/09/2026 14:02

As for what the left would call the right if they were white - xenophobic bigots, or Islamophobic bigots if they were predominantly Muslim.

Yes, less than our fair share. Other countries take many, many more refugees than we do. Why not do some research? Oh, and maybe learn how to spell borders, if you care so much about them.

We all house asylum seekers by paying tax.

Blimey! So we don’t know who they, what their culture is, where theyre from other than somewhere rape is legal. But we do know they’re criminal rapists from Muslim countries AND that they haven’t had sex for a long time. Oh and presumably that they’ve travelled from their country with their eyes closed for the one to two years that it’s probably taken them because they’ll be shocked when they see British women wearing skirts.

Gotcha!
