What would the Left call the Right, if the small boat people were white?

I'll start by saying, I am very anti open boarders, and I am horrified that so many illegal immigrants are arriving every day. But for me, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour, it is more to do with :

ONE) They have no documentation, and we have no idea if they have criminal backgrounds

TWO) They tend to come from cultures where women are not respected

THREE) They often come from places where rape is not a crime

FOUR) They cannot work, and it is costing Millions to house, feed and clothe them

FIVE) We are granting asylum to some people who should never get it - like the Hamas bodyguard we heard of yesterday

Lots of valid reasons I feel, however, for me, it has nothing to do with skin colour. If I had to be locked in a room overnight with a white man from a backward culture, or a black man from the UK, I would choose the latter, every single time.

It isn't colour, it's culture

But I see that people on the Far Left just scream "Racist" to anyone who opposes illegal immigration. What would they scream, if all the small boats were full of white men? And would people still march for England?

  1. If you are left I think you are less likely to object to anyone seeking asylum irrespective of the colour of their skin.
  1. If you did it would be called xenophobia as the first poster mentioned
  1. This whole small boat issue is such a tiny issue (and becoming even tinier already) compared to the actual problems we face in this country (and in the world) that I really wish people would stop to spend so much headspace on it let alone go on a march for. Why is no one marching for the NHS? Why is no one marching about the cost of living? (And then of course there is climate change but people are actually marching for that). AI and climate change will change life in this country far more than any immigrant has done so far let alone the few asylum seekers we get. These are the kind of things that actually will make a significant difference to your life or the life of your children and that we should worry about. Everything else is just a distraction.

Rape is disgusting and abhorrent, but it isn’t a foreign concept. Men have been raping us since the beginning of time, across every culture and time period—including here and now.

My background is in teaching English as a foreign language, so I have actually been a woman in a couple of the countries you mentioned (not including England) and had wonderful experiences.

I have also been assaulted both here and overseas, being a woman anywhere is dangerous, it’s like choosing between a rock and a hard place really.

Do you see all countries as pretty much the same in terms of risk to women and girls?

I seem to remember the OP saying that if she were PM not one of them would be here. Not one.

🤣🤣

I wish people would stop calling fellow human beings “boat people”, it’s embarrassing. They’re migrants/asylum seekers/generally people fleeing much shitter lives than yours or mine. It isn’t a right/left divide either, it’s typically a reform / everyone else divide. I don’t hear Tories calling people boat people and saying the dinghies should be slashed/people should be shot at as they try to cross but I’ve heard plenty of reform voters saying this.

Can't be that shitty, seeing as they left their wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, mothers and grandmothers behind.

What if there was a rule? What if the UK passed that into legislation?

Well, asylum is governed by international conventions so they cannot pass a rule like that. And that would be very convenient because the UK would take precisely zero refugees and countries like Turkey would have to take all of them, which would be very unfair.

Are you marching for any of those things?

Why, is “marching” how you prove you care about something?

MARCHING RIGHT NOW

Crime rates aren't all equal everywhere in the world. A DD going on holiday to Poland will have a lovely time compared if she went to New Delhi or Tehran or Kabul or Mogadishu.

Khartoum for example is a horrible place for a woman to be. Not everywhere in equal

What did today's UK citizens do to deserve this punishment. It's a cost imposed on them beit physical or societal

You're enjoying the financial benefits of our foreign policy, so unless you are volunteering to even up the balance you're complicit in it.

There's no point in sending your grandmother to a different country as she won't be able to work or earn money to help the rest of the family.

International conventions are only legally binding if the UK chooses to implement it. Hungary for examples says that their domestic law takes precedence.

If you can only afford to send one member of your family to people smugglers to spend twelve months travelling across the world in highly dangerous situations, anyone with a brain would send a healthy young male. They leave the family in care of extended family and apply for them to join - so they can come here safely, not via smugglers.
Only the most desperate, eg those whose homes have been destroyed in war, flee as a family group. Surely you can have some humanity and remember Alan Kurdi, as an example of why people will do whatever they can to put women and children in that situation.

The fact that you deliberately misread that is abhorrent.

Which the current UK citizen didn't ask or have a role in.

Blondiebeachbabe · 29/09/2026 15:24

I saw yesterday that a woman on a small boat was gang raped, and a 2 year old was thrown overboard for crying. This was done by men to their "own". I'm not sure even the most Lefty left person can square that circle.

Then why has nobody thanked me for ending the slave trade or defeating the Nazis? Fucking ingrates.

They’re in the minority but at much higher risk. Hence deaths, crushes and violence.

culture is not not race so doesn't make sense

Maybe you shouldn't allow people that have come to then import lots of family member down the line then

And if home country is that dangerous why would you leave your wife and children there. Not a thing a decent man would do

No dates or details have been shared of that report funnily enough, but if it did happen - the story claimed is the PEOPLE SMUGGLERS were responsible. You know, the criminals charging £££££s for the trip. People smugglers are not asylum seekers, they are organised crime gangs. And surely such a story would help you understand why it is generally men who are sent to go these routes, not women and children, unless it's literally their last resort.
