Best friend has made an issue about my DH’s joke over dinner

We met friends (another couple) at an Indian restaurant last night. My friend ordered a particularly hot curry which we remarked on. DH made a joke along the lines of ‘that’s the face-sitting off the cards tonight’ to which we both laughed as did my friends husband.

Driving home, I could see she messaged me. I got back to read it and she said she thought DH had set out to humiliate her and she expects an apology.

Is it me or has she gone very OTT here?!

Of course it is. I genuinely don't get why people dont see it a mile away and why they even engage. These threads only appear over and over because of the rage bait just causes engagement. The quickest way to make them stop is to not post (and yes im adding to it by saying this but I shall not any more).

I do think so readily using that type of rough language reflects on someone’s character, yes, and I will judge a person that uses it as someone not worth my time to associate with. I have never found this to be at all disadvantageous.

I'd have just thought what an absolute gross thing to say, I'd assume you've both been vile in other ways by that point and for you laughing along would cause me to quietly ghost you. I wouldn't want an apology but I wouldn't want a repeat byuck.

That's no excuse for his revolting comments. You might not be responsible for what he said but you laughed when he said it.
