What's hated on MN, but insanely popular in real life?

Disney World
Starbucks, Costa, Nero etc
Center Parcs
A sensible political stance
McDonald's

What else?

Hot tubs. If the MN view was anything to go by, then they would make holiday rentals with them cheaper.

Surely it depends on your deeply subjective version of ‘real life’? And ‘sensible political stance’?

Hot tubs used to be very popular on Mumsnet when they cost a lot of money. But then the cheaper inflatable ones came along and they were suddenly accessible to the masses, and then they became very unpopular.

You haven't noticed MN is absurdly liberal, if you haven't I suspect you are probably one of them!

Booze is a funny one on here, there isn't much middle ground.

You are 1) an alcoholic if you drink more than a thimble of sherry at Christmas or 2) it's absolutely fine to drink 4 glasses of wine every single night.

Video Games.

According to MN it's a thing immature men do and something to be stamped out. Where as in reality, around 41% of game consoles are owned by a woman. And in several markets woman out number men significantly.

I haven't seen this at all. When people comment on this the majority seem astounded that anyone wouldn't have one, that's certainly been the reaction when I've commented that I don't have one.
