Who's this new celebrity groper who's been ' hauled in' for questioning. I'm beginning to think they've got a supply of them at the BBC that they keep in a cupboard and they let one out evwry now and then when there's a bit if a slow news day.

Where did you get the bit about Stratford from?

Top of the Pops? I'm thinking of shows filmed at Elstree which weren't produced by the BBC.

Elstree is not in Stratford. So no

There is a popular Friday night presenter who later moved to c4...

First word someone steals your cattle, 2nd word, what you should do to make it harder for the thieves to sell your cattle.

I can't crack that one. I can think of a presenter who moved from BBC to Channel 4, who wouldn't surprise me in the least.

ETA his BBC show was recorded in East London, but not Stratford, I don't think.

TheCurious0range · Yesterday 21:13

Bit of googling based on shows filmed in Stratford for the BBC by independent production companies , has thrown up shows like ready steady cook, I had the displeasure of meeting one of the main faces of that (Susie salt and Percy pepper) and he was an absolute arsehole, also cash in the attic, weakest link was mentioned but that was Anne Robinson back then I think so wouldn't be her

He had a booky wook , that's what the clue is hinting at, but I don't remember him being big at the BBC TV wise

Oh no, that's not the one I'm thinking of - that wouldn't be news?

I don't think it is either but someone who steals cattle is a rustler and what do you call marking castle to prevent them being stolen? That's who the clue refers to, but I don't believe this one is him personally

Who presented a show produced by someone other than thebbc for decades? Can’t think of one

Lakesfun · Yesterday 21:22

The person I'm thinking of went on to have his own production company, named after his appearance.

Never on the Beeb apart from radio. If I've interpreted your clue correctly.

Top Gear? I'm not sure of the dares but there were reported complaints from that show.

Charlize43 · Yesterday 21:33

Isn't it about time the BBC was defunded by the taxpayer? It's like a club for sex predators.

Wasn't it bad enough to our money was given to people like Huw Edwards so he could use it to buy pics of young boys wanking? Why are we forced to pay for these people?

First person I thought of is the one who has just split from the person who was, strictly speaking, his wife. Not sure if he meets the criteria but he’s been around long enough…

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · Yesterday 21:38

Unfortunately I don't think the appalling behaviour of some high profile men is limited to the BBC. However the Beeb were the dominant force in broadcasting for a long time and broadcast media has long treated the talent with kid gloves. Times, attitudes and the workplace have all changed a hell of a lot over time. There is also the element of ordinary members of the public meeting famous people and being in their thrall.

Not a former BBC star, which is what has been reported.

Molly499 · Yesterday 21:41

Could be -

He hosted BBC's Gardeners' World from 2003 and subsequently filmed the 2005 BBC series Growing Out of Trouble. During his early years on Gardeners' World, the show was famously filmed at Berryfields, a rented garden in Stratford-upon-Avon. In 2010, he made the move to Channel 4 to present My Dream Farm.

Fair enough. He certainly worked for the BBC around that time but maybe not a “bbc star”

Wasn’t one of the wheelbarrow man’s hilarious “jokes” putting his cock on someone’s shoulder?

gay or not, I’d included that in “unwanted sexual contact”.

Yuck

But that's not new and the wrong channel?

MyJustCat · Yesterday 22:01

the star i'm thinking of had his own production company for his bbc friday night show which ran for a decade but tbf he has always seemed happily married so maybe i'm thinking of the wrong person.
