Who's this new celebrity groper who's been ' hauled in' for questioning. I'm beginning to think they've got a supply of them at the BBC that they keep in a cupboard and they let one out evwry now and then when there's a bit if a slow news day.

That's a ridiculous response. There are misogynistic sex pests everywhere in society, it's just that when it's a celebrity it makes the news (how many tens of thousands of people must the BBC employ if you're including via other production companies).

Plus I think the quiz show he hosted was filmed at Granada, not in Stratford.

If it’s the person/brand of sage and onion referred to earlier, the quiz show was filmed in Manchester. I’d be surprised if it was him as I was a contestant on said quiz show at that time and got zero odd vibes - but you never know, sadly.

There are two on the side bar who could fit the bill. One has a picture of a person hugging a young woman who he isn’t in a relationship, the other uses the words “household name” which makes me think The Metro don’t know but are hedging their bets.

We wouldn’t be totally supwised about that one though.

To be honest, my daughter and I have had him on Operation Yewtree watch for a very long time.

He spent some of his own money (which he earned at the BBC) on that, which was criminal and deeply wrong.

I'll never forget the time when he had Kirsty Gallacher on his show and he hinted at the size of his appendage and said that he could "ruin her for normal men".

He's a very clever and normally erudite man, but what an extraordinarily sick and predatory thing to even think of saying, much less to actually say on national TV.

It's mad what he actually got away with. I agree with you, and I actually have a fair bit of time for him nowadays but he let himself down in the past.

Your first sentence is so clearly untrue that your second sentence is rendered unbelievable.

This is bizarre. The point about skin colour is so demonstrably untrue - you only have to open your eyes- that the explanation for the comment has to be racism.

As for left wing bias, you must still be living in the 70s and resenting the liberal arts education of some people who worked there at that time. Left and right wing die-hards each believe that the BBC is against them.
