Just seen a woman wearing a red boob tube with a grubby white strapped bra. If she can’t find a strapless bra that fits, why buy and wear boop tubes or any other clothing that shows off bra straps. Not a good look.

Why do women think it’s ok to wear clothes like this

She was out and about on a warm day, not at the office. It really doesn't matter!

If my bra straps show I wear something else, or don’t wear a bra.

I can’t say I give much thought to what other people do.

Witchonenowbob · Yesterday 18:06

Oh bless you, I hope you’re not triggered by anything? I mean cotton that you don’t like may be stressful?

Get a grip!

Yes of course we can all wear what we like and that's great, but it is a fact that some combinations look better than others. Some buildings look nicer than others, some cakes look nicer than others. And a boob red boob tube with a visible white bra doesn't look great on most people. Does it matter? No. Is it true? Yes.

Only in your opinion it is true.

That woman might have felt fabulous and thought it looked amazing.

Who's right? You or her?

Underwear should be worn under clothes not showed off

Are you ok seeing it? Maybe therapy may help with the shock?

I think OP what you are getting at is that the way a lot of women dress these days gives the impression they actually don't give a damn as whether it looks good, whether it fits them, or whether it's appropriate for the occasion, etc and in a lot of cases whether it's decent or not.
In marked contrast to the majority of men who mostly actually manage to dress much more stylishly and appropriately.

I realise of course i am not supposed to say this because I will get all the vitriolic comments about being judgemental, and I will probably be accused of being a misogynist.

However, because when I go out and about I actually have my eyes open and my brain retains it's critical faculties I can't help but notice what people are wearing and actually form an opinion on it.

I think it’s genuinely easier for men.

Even a man with the worst style and taste in the world can pop into next and buy a basic black suit white shirt and a plain tie for a wedding.

Jeans and a plain polo again can look good on basically any man as long as it fits.

Chino shorts and a polo. Winner again.

Black trousers and a proper shirt now he is smart again.

Easy and they get away with just wearing the same suit to every wedding, funeral, christening and job interview zero judgement.

A women no no apart from the job interview there are likely to be people from the same events there so that requires new outfits.

I hate clothes shopping in case you can’t tell 😅

FlapperFlamingo · Yesterday 18:07

I wouldn’t do it myself but then I wouldn’t wear a boob tube either. But I don’t kind what anyone else does. Life is too short to worry about someone else’s bra!

'Why do women think it's OK to wear clothes like this?'

Why do women think it's OK to comment and start a thread on it? Bizarre.

Its my pet hate OP I think its sloppy and gross. The suns out here and Ive never seen so much mottled spam flesh on display. Yuck.

whats wrong with being pale? Better than skin damage

Don’t look then

You cant avoid looking unless you go out blindfolded.

Zov · Yesterday 18:08

Was this woman's bra really grubby though? Or are you just embellishing to make it sound worse @longlocks ? Wink

FWIW, it doesn't bother me if someone's bra is showing. Mine shows now and again, when my vest top strap slips. Ooooh, the shame! 😱

Also, what is a boop tube?

Absolutely, skin cancer from tanned skin is massively more attractive!!

Agree. Horrible, rude, bigoted comment too, commenting on someone's skin colour being 'pale!' Hmm

What the hell is wrong with PALE SKIN @Gettingbysomehow ?!

Any of these variants could be boob only sized or longer.

You could… Avert your eyes!

Like men should, rather than ogle what they think is attractive!

EdithBond · Yesterday 18:11

Why not? Doesn’t bother me how other people dress.

RonnieForteWhiskyTalkinNSOUL · Yesterday 18:13

That's why I carry smelling salts for DW to administer if I get a glimpse of ladies things😑

Everlore · Yesterday 18:13

Maybe she doesn't like strapless bras, I can't say they work for me very well, they are always sliding out of place which I find very annoying. I don't wear strappy dresses or tops because I have narrow shoulders and the straps fall down all the time. However, for the same reason, when I wear a bra under a sleeveless dress, which I obviously had to do today, my bra straps are foreversliding into view, which I hadn't realised was so distressing to judgemental strangers. Thanks for notifying me of this. I will, from here on in, ensure I wear long sleeved dresses and a cardigan, just to be on the safe side. Much better to risk passing out from heatstroke than risk your bra strap briefly being visible in public.
I am so glad that helpful people like you are around to remind women of how they should dress in public.

NewGoldFox · Yesterday 18:14

Have a day off.

ItaGonnaBeMay · Yesterday 18:14

Bet you’d be complaining if she wasn’t wearing a bra and you say her nipple through her top. Heaven forbid

She might've thought it looked amazing but it probably didn't. On my estate I see lots of women buying scratch cards in their pyjamas - in the afternoon. They might think they look amazing too, but they really don't. I personally wouldn't have started a thread about any of it though. But since the subject arose, here I am giving my opinion. Isn't that one of the points of this forum?

Larrythecatforpm · Yesterday 18:14

Oh my god. Call the police, that’s indecency!

Ponoka7 · Yesterday 18:16

I used to colour coordinate, in my younger days. There was a time when bra straps came off and you could get decorative straps, for show. No-one should be forced into a strapless bra in hot weather. If only our heads could turn, or our eyes move, then we wouldn't have to look.

Why is a bra strap something to be ashamed of, I really don’t get it.

Aiming4Optimistic · Yesterday 18:19

I'm with the OP - a boob tube is designed to be worn with a strapless bra or no bra. It doesn't look good worn with visible bra straps, grubby or otherwise!
Just because a person is entitled to wear what they like, it doesn't mean that other people can't have an opinion about it. I think it looks bad and it's not that hard to wear a normal t shirt if you don't have the right bra for a particular top.
