Please could someone link these legends or tell what they were about? Thank you.

I find most of the 'classic' threads kind of unfunny. But the funniest thing I've ever read on the whole Internet was on mumsnet. Perhaps it was because I was delirious from late night breastfeeding but the holiday pushchair thread can't be beaten for me. And you only need to read the first three posts...

The best comment on the Sistine Chapel thread was, don't go to Jerusalem 😆
For me, Mexican house guest will always be the ultimate in cheekyfuckery.

Pernicketywishes · 23/03/2026 11:16

I loved the Korean lady one!

Another was the Center parcs rapids thread. Absolutely hilarious. I’ve got to find that again.

Does anybody else remember the Garlic Arse thread from many years ago?

I have searched and searched and all I can find is this thread referring to it Garlic-Arse-should-be-in-MN-Classics it contains a link to the original which appears to be broken.

As far as I can remember the OP had but a bulb of garlic up her arse, I think it was supposed to get rid of thread worms. She was then mortally embarassed because she had stunk out the toilets at work. Sounds gross I now but I remember it as being utterly hilarious.

AIBU? It is very funny

Loved them all and still find them funny. Even people commenting earnestly, that they don’t find them funny in the slightest, adds to the hilarity for me.

What about the thread where a poster enthusiastically agrees with the OP about a travel system recommendation, failing to notice that she was the original poster.

It wasn’t a thread, but a comment that brings me to tears of laughter was when a poster told a couple that their baby daughter was going to grow up ‘to be some fucker’ instead of a thumb sucker 😂

takealettermsjones · 23/03/2026 11:37

Ohh what about the one where the OP was asking whether it would be safe to take her baby to the top of the Burj Khalifa, because of the altitude etc, and someone said "I assume you're flying there?" 🤣

being taken up the oxo tower is my favourite thread of all time - it had me crying laughing. Also, auntie tantrums’ babysitting disaster.

Oxo Tower was one that did make me laugh. It's a long time ago but I'll admit it does still pop into my head occasionally when I'm strolling along South Bank.

...but I must admit, I have my reservations. It's not something he has ever suggested before. And we've been married for 15 years. I'm quite adventuro...

I think it was the randomness of why that poster said she farted, it was so irrelevant

Auntie Tanrums is my favourite, she was such a little sweetheart - who will be a teenager now!

This is brilliant 😂😂😂

ihatecatlitter · 23/03/2026 14:23

I was on snapped and farted at the time. I could not understand the hilarity at all - it just wasn’t funny, I always assumed it was a typo of some sort but it took off massively. I was baffled.

SnappedandFarted · 23/03/2026 08:02

I don't always find the 'classics' threads funny, but I was on the snapped and farted one in real time, and I was crying laughing.

I even nabbed the username at the time!

It's often the replies, typos and tangents that make threads classic. 😊

OwlIsBeingAnOwl · 23/03/2026 16:16

Think this old username of mine is from the T-Rexing thread. Loved it.

ThatFairy · 23/03/2026 16:46

I can't find the but where she snapped and farted

MrsToothyBitch · 23/03/2026 16:48

@LordofMisrule1 I remember that thread with the weird feta-bean casserole! I was fairly new at the time, too. I also remember garlic-arse.

Steamed badger and hedge sex are a couple of threads that amused me! Also Tidy Dancer being tricked into decorating a wedding - that had some excellent replies!

I thought the Sistine chapel was a wind up at the time (I think I say so on the thread under a different UN) and still do.

I saw someone on TV recently say she always sobbed in art galleries etc, and it immediately made me think of Sistine Chapel lady! So she’s clearly not the only one.

“Diamanté butt plug and a pained expression” pops into my head literally anytime someone says “what are you wearing?” Grin

Or a nice shiny Labrador, if she kept eating dog food…..

Am I the only one who has been here long enough to remember the PRINCESS of TONGA and the flipping book?

While we’re delving into historical nonsense, might as well dust off the penis beaker, which for a while was trotted out as would-be assurance the OP wasn’t a troll.

I watched this in real time. Was amazing

Greyblankie · 23/03/2026 21:00

Anyone remember the baby called Slithery?

or the baby called Brian?

RonaldMcDonaldTrump · 23/03/2026 21:23

Does anybody remember the one where a woman was on holiday with her in laws and she was accused of being an attention seeker because she didn't order the special breakfast item like the rest of them.

Most people agreed that they sounded batshit but then it emerged she did other questionable things, such as they told her they wanted to leave early in the morning to go somewhere, which she'd agreed to, but for some reason she decided to have a leisurely shower, went to meet them downstairs for coffee with wet hair and when they asked if she was ready, she said no I've still got to blow dry my hair 😂

I don't know why that thread tickled me so much, the OP never came back after the tide of the thread turned against her!
