Please could someone link these legends or tell what they were about? Thank you.

The reminder of these threads has cheered up my Monday morning. I’ve just snorted at some of the replies on the Sistine chapel one.

Penis beaker was my personal fave though!

RhaenysRocks · 23/03/2026 07:03

Cutted up pear was one of the first things I ever read on MN. Been here since 2009 under various names. I remember laughing so hard I couldn't explain it to.now ex H and just had to pass him the phone. 😂

HoppingPavlova · 23/03/2026 07:19

the snapped and farted was the op had an argument with her partner so she snapped and farted. People thought it was a typo but it wasnt

wasn’t this the one where that was in response to her DH’s T-Rexing? Which was odd in and of itself, but the response of snapping and farting just topped it off. Maybe I’m mis-remembering?

MrsWhites · 23/03/2026 07:33

‘I’m feeling fruity tonight Darling - fill up the penis beaker’ has to be my favourite mumsnet line ever 😂

TheFunSponge · 23/03/2026 07:35

Mexican house thief, snapped and farted and penis beaker were hilarious. The minge one had me laughing so hard I woke my husband! Loved the allotment one too.

ReadySaltedSquares · 23/03/2026 07:54

I remember being obsessed with Soft-Zilla as it was happening, but I don’t think it turned out to be funny in the end!

snapped and farted. The lady who wanted the crows to forgive her and never came back, the exhausting babysitting experience, and the blocking in one somebody mentioned earlier! All the parking ones. I didn’t really care if they were real or not, they often just offered a bit of light during lack of sleep/post tantrum times!

ladymalfoy · 23/03/2026 07:59

Wasn't there a cake punching one? OP punching a cake in a supermarket.

SnappedandFarted · 23/03/2026 08:02

I don't always find the 'classics' threads funny, but I was on the snapped and farted one in real time, and I was crying laughing.

I even nabbed the username at the time!

I need to find the minge one 😂

What happened about the tiny Korean lady in the end? Was it a wind-up?

Aww this one was my favourite! ❤️

susiedaisy1912 · 23/03/2026 08:50

Anyone else remember the mum who was in a doctors waiting room and went to say to her toddler something like that he was being a whiney tinker but said you’re being a tiny wanker instead. ?

GinToBegin · 22/03/2026 22:09

While we’re delving into historical nonsense, might as well dust off the penis beaker, which for a while was trotted out as would-be assurance the OP wasn’t a troll.

Every time I've seen this reference, I've read it as "penis breaker"... thanks for the link which has shown me the light 😆

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 22/03/2026 21:52

I thought the Sistine chapel was a wind up at the time (I think I say so on the thread under a different UN) and still do.

Me too! No one is that enthusiastic about something and makes such a hash of the spelling.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 23/03/2026 09:38

I loved the fantasy versus reality thread - trying on outfits where you have a vision in your head of how you’ll look and are disappointed: Suzi Quattro’s fat nan, Colonel Gadaffi and a match.

The pigeon thread “is that you, Paul?”

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 23/03/2026 09:47

Just read it - never saw the original. Bemused at why she felt the need to ‘scream’ at the Michaelangelo!

TBH my sympathies are with her dh!

Being quietly moved to tears by something is another matter.

Loved the crow thread!! Gutted she never came back

Onemanwenttomo · 23/03/2026 10:16

Was the crow thread anything to do with the one where everyone jumped on the bandwagon and ordered this awful Halloween crow decoration from Argos? I remember it was out of stock near me by the time I saw the thread. I can't remember the details of why the thread started but it was classic Mumsnet to clear the shelves of something like this just to be in on the joke.

Losted · 23/03/2026 10:40

The riddle/post office one was about Boswell:

I think there are further threads - it was all very weird.

SergeantWrinkles · 23/03/2026 10:45

What about the one where the neighbour was building into her garden - it went on for about 8 threads I think?!

WhosMadeline · 22/03/2026 22:29

I was around for snapped and farted and Sistine chapel and am on them under a different username. They were both very funny and fun to be part of at the time. There was another AIBU about someone’s DH ruining days out at NT properties and galleries with his farts that was very funny too. I got called immature on that one for finding it so funny.
I need to catch up on penis beaker though.
Another one to look for in classics is when someone served pom bears at a dinner party.

My induction into MN was that mental thread where everyone kicked off at the OP for cooking a green bean/feta casserole for their kid and kid's friend when they came over after school for tea one night. I couldn't believe what I was reading lol.

SergeantWrinkles · 23/03/2026 10:48

Spangran and her Paella Pan!

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 23/03/2026 10:51

'Suzy Quatro's Fat Nan' is my go-to thread when I'm feeling a bit meh, because it never fails to make me laugh all over again.

And that is a sentence that I never thought I would find myself typing on a Monday morning.

nam3c4ang3 · 23/03/2026 10:52

ffs the t-Rex one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 . I didn’t have kids then and I remember it… my oldest is 12 soon 😫

Lolloper · 23/03/2026 11:00

@susiedaisy1912I remember ‘tiny wanker’ too, in a crowded Drs waiting room at the time being tutted at by the other patients? 😂😂

I like the Mexican house guest 🤣 I want to know where the cheeky neighbours went next!
There is a thread somewhere but here's the story
Mexican house theif

And the t rex arms!
T rex

Allotment thief you'll have to search for earlier parts with the best chocolate cake recipe!
Part 3

Mexican house thief was one of my all time favourites and I always loved the Sharon threads
