To cringe when middle class women swear

On Mumsnet at least they use embarrassing words like 'cockwomble' and think it's edgy. Only working and upper class people sound right swearing.

Well fuck.

Arlanymor · 21/03/2026 12:20

How do you know what ‘class’ posters are? What am I for example.

outerspacepotato · 21/03/2026 12:20

Fuck that.

Basquervill · 21/03/2026 12:20

Aw, hope you feel better soon. Try getting out more.

NewYearNewMee · 21/03/2026 12:20

I love a good fake swear word!! I also like saying fuck 🤷🏻‍♀️ or the mumsnet crime of censoring myself with asterisks 😂

I think everyone sounds a bit silly swearing, regardless of social standing, unless something shocking or scary has happened.

Spinningnewbie · 21/03/2026 12:21

Anyone who identifies themselves as middle class is cringeworthy fullstop.

Butchyrestingface · 21/03/2026 12:21

I cringed at the fucking thread title.

Are you not getting enough attention? Grin

Jeschara · 21/03/2026 12:21

Silly goady post. Made to get a reaction.

WhatAPavalova · 21/03/2026 12:23

“Fuck you” is my only reply to that opinion

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 21/03/2026 12:24

I would never say ‘cockwomble’ it’s not swearing.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 21/03/2026 12:24

fuck me, who pissed on your cornflakes?

dopaminego · 21/03/2026 12:26

Yeah but loads overdo it, say things like 'fuck off to the far side of fuck' and stuff, just sounds so forced

OP posts:
Boolabus · 21/03/2026 12:26

Well bollocks to that

Right2BareArms · 21/03/2026 12:27

😁

If you want to fucking swear, do it.
If you dont want to fucking swear, dont do it.
Don't police other people

What's with the grin? What that poster said wasn't funny. That's kind of what I mean. It's all so 'look how clever I am' and it's not.

How on earth do you know what class someone is?
Are we all supposed to wear badges?

And more importantly, why do you care so much about "class" and what someone else may or may not be, according to your personal perception of them? Sounds more like a you obsession than anything.

Yes but it sounds forced and sheep-like no matter what 'class' of person says it.

Wynter25 · 21/03/2026 12:30

Fuck

LassiKopiano24 · 21/03/2026 12:32

Faaaaackin ell

honeylulu · 21/03/2026 12:32

I agree there's nothing clever about swearing. However some of us just like it.

Now fuck off.

dopaminego · 21/03/2026 12:32

Ok maybe so shouldn't have said middle class. I should have said 'some Mumsnet posters'.
