Would you go to Disney world Orlando this year? We were considering booking for us and our 2 children, was meant to book it tonight.
I’m really unsure with the current condition of the world right now.
what would you do?

All I've been getting today is adverts for Dubai!!!

I bet that's because the algorithms haven't twigged that the reason everyone is reading about Dubai is not because they're thinking of a holiday.

LemonyCurd · 02/03/2026 22:29

I’m more than happy for you all
not to go, because then my flights will be cheaper. Hooray!

Studyunder · 02/03/2026 22:30

ohfourfoxache · 02/03/2026 21:07

No. No I would not

I won’t step foot in the states until Trump is out

(I’m sure that’s a monumental loss to him, but I just couldn’t)

This

Littlegreenbauble · 02/03/2026 22:30

No.

SpottyAlpaca · 02/03/2026 22:31

Yes, of course. I’m going to Boston & Cape Cod in June. They should have got all the snow cleared up by then. Really looking forward to it.

And if by then the geopolitical situation has deteriorated to the point at which I can’t go, we will all have far more important things to worry about than a holiday.

MmeWorthington · 02/03/2026 22:31

Personally I wouldn’t.

But I think you’ll be safe if you do

I’d book Disney Paris, enjoy 4/5 days there and then have 4/5 days elsewhere in France or travel to center parks in Belgium

Jinglealltheway92 · 02/03/2026 22:35

No. I’m more likely to research package holidays to Russia. The orange twat would see no tourism money from me.

Hereforthecommentz · 02/03/2026 22:35

If you can afford it of course. Disneyworld and universal are amazing. We went in 2022, I'd love to go back my kids loved every second. The pound to dollar is pretty good at the moment. When we went bloody Liz Truss opened her mouth and it was nearly 1:1. Your not there to intervene in world affairs, your going on holiday. Enjoy!!

KitsyWitsy · 02/03/2026 22:38

Another America bashing thread...

I will be there at least twice. I feel perfectly safe there. There is way too much scaremongering going on.

Filamumof9 · 02/03/2026 22:38

Going for work, planned the trip carefully and taking some additional safety measures which I would normally not so but the stories about ICE etc made me a bit nervous.

Createausername1970 · 02/03/2026 22:40

I am planning on visiting family in the summer and I was going to look at flights over the weekend. But with everything that's gone on over the last couple of days I am going to leave it for a bit.

I have reservations about some of the things the current administration is doing in US, my family members are worried about a few things in particular, but I don't feel these pose a particular threat to me personally. I am genuinely more concerned about revenge attacks on aircraft entering or leaving US.

I expect the current situation will have calmed down in a few weeks, they usually do, but I will wait and see.

frostytimes · 02/03/2026 22:44

Yes I’d absolutely go. Find it absolutely baffling that people would genuinely consider not going because of their president. Also hilarious people are worried about ICE as if they are going to be sweeping Disney World for brown people to something 😂😂😂
The only person who will be affected by not going is you missing out on a (possibly) once in a life time holiday! It’s amazing I would highly recommend

PinkCatCushion · 02/03/2026 22:51

No. Not with Donald Fart in change - he’s too unhinged, I wouldn’t feel safe. Plus all the guns and shootings.

It’s a bit like I wouldn’t go to Dubai or China as I don’t like their human rights record. Why would I give them any tourist income?
Plus I really wouldn’t feel safe in America.

No

WineBeforeWhine · 02/03/2026 21:09

I’m sure Trump will be heart broken. Protests like this are worthless. I say go and enjoy Disney.

But people can do all sorts of protests for themselves. It's not worthless to those protesting g, isn't that the point? I won't be going to US until he has left as well

ThisSunnyBee · 02/03/2026 23:03

These replies sound unhinged as if written from people in onesies who don't go further than Tescos anyway when they do the" big shop" . Get more informed replies if you asked them about AI holidays in Turkey preferably with water parks and beige food for the kids.

Just go , have a great time.

Hi OP if you go on to the holidays board you will see similar threads with responses from people who are currently there or just back. I posted a similar thread when we travelled to Orlando last July as it was a similar situation with the US and Iran. I got helpful replies.

I just got back from the States and am back again in a couple of months. I’ll be there for over a month and then I’m back again in the winter. I love being there. It’s amazing. Go and enjoy.

Ooh where do you go in the states? I love the states. Not going any time soon because of costs but also I am wary of the situation there with ICE and Trump. But can’t wait to go back one day. Last time we went, we did Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, san fran, vegas, DC, Boston and NYC and it was such an amazing trip. I’ve also done Florida, San Diego and New Hampshire too. Anywhere you’ve been you’d recommend?

Bbq1 · 02/03/2026 23:26

Went last year to LA. It was absolutely fantastic with no issues and I would go again in a heartbeat this year.
Edit to add: Felt very safe with no sign of guns or ICE!

I’d recommend Texas - Dallas / Ft Worth, Marfa and Big Bend, Houston and NASA, San Antonio and the Hill Country, Corpus Christi and South Padre Island, Austin.

Big Bend is spectacular.

Streetcornerchoir · 02/03/2026 23:50

I’ve been many times, several times a year in the past actually, but I wouldn’t go right now. The divide among the public alongside the political side, it just doesn’t appeal right now. Not sure if I’d feel differently if I could go alone but I wouldn’t take my child.

I've lived in 3 countires and travelled in almost 50.

I wouldn't go right now if you paid me.

DeepBlueDeer · 03/03/2026 00:24

I wouldn't have gone anyway, but the new rules set to come into force in the next few months (mandatory provision of social media accounts, facial and iris scans, dna samples on request) are the nail in the nail of the coffin's coffin.
