Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

Good grief, no! He's an unbelievably privileged grown adult who is fully responsible for everything he's done. I'll save my compassion for his victims. As an aside, I've noticed a flood of blue-tick accounts on twitter trying to defend him there too.

LizzieW1969 · 23/02/2026 10:20

If AMW really isn’t guilty of any wrongdoing, as he insists, why won’t he give evidence to Congress? He could reveal the names of those powerful men who are currently still walking free in the US.

No empathy for the victims. Whether he’s guilty of SA of the underage victims of Epstein, he clearly doesn’t care about them at all. It’s all about him.

Unfortunately there is evidence in the Epstein files

It seems highly likely (otherwise why was she paid off with hush money) that Andrew had sex with Virginia Guthrie when she was aged 17 and he was aged 41. This was a criminal offence in the US at the time where the age of consent was 18 and she was classed as a child.

There is no evidence in the files that Andrew had sex with anyone else under the age of 18 or 16, unless you would like to provide links as evidence.

I’m annoyed he is the only fall guy -the girls must have tsken the money rather than seeking nustice

I think you need to put your mind to reading some court papers perhaps because that is not true.

There is evidence of Andrew sexually abusing children in the Epstein’s files? Are you sure? Why isn’t this being reported by the media?

Betterbelieveit · 23/02/2026 14:35

I feel sorry for him because he is a human being, just as I feel sorry for the Epstein victims.

I am confused that Mandelson (sp) hasn't been arrested, and yet his story came out first.

I think he has been now.

Yes, he has been arrested now. The worst possible timing for Starmer, with an important by-election this week.

Who cares about Starmer? Hes as dodgy as they come. Only cares about himself.

Clarabell77 · 23/02/2026 21:18

Broken because he got caught. Ffs.

PeonyPatch · 23/02/2026 21:19

Abso-frigging-lutely not. You do realise he’s still living it up rent free and WITH skeleton staff around? He’s a privileged and entitled twat of a man.

Couldn’t agree more, I don’t care much for the man himself. But it will be a big thing if he’s forced to resign and we’re left without a PM.

Petrolitis · 23/02/2026 21:24

Well usually I can't help but feel sorry for people. I even feel a bit sorry for Ghislane Maxwell because I wonder how her relationship with her father damaged her. Not that that excuses her.

But Andrew? Nope, Ive got nothing. Not even a twinge of sympathy.

My ILs feel sorry for him though, they think hes just a bit thick and easily manipulated.

Dextersgoneovertherainbowbridge · 23/02/2026 21:35

Fuck no.

apparently the poor soul will only have a valet and a chef in his 5 bedroomed house. A real punishment!

"However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall"

Also if this is referring to the photo of him in the car, I looked at that and saw someone trying to avoid cameras and being annoyed at being 'papped' rather than someone broken tbh.

AInightingale · 24/02/2026 00:08

He looked blank-faced and zonked frankly, like he's on quite heavy meds.

Womaninhouse17 · 24/02/2026 04:02

He looked shocked that somebody had had the temerity to suspect he'd done something wrong.

BeanQuisine · 24/02/2026 04:19

He didn't look at all happy but we can't really gauge how it's likely to be affecting him.

We can rest assured the police would have been impeccably polite and professional in a high-profile case like this, so that aspect wouldn't have bothered him. It's really a matter of what sort of case they have to take to court. Andrew and his lawyer presumably have some idea of that now, but we do not.

Another factor unknown to us (and possibly to Andrew) is what, if anything, the IT experts will find on his devices that may be of legal consequence.

If he knows there's dubious material in there somewhere (or has been in the past, that may be recovered) then that will help make it a very tense waiting game for him.

Empress13 · 24/02/2026 05:04

Err … No! That low life pompous entitled oaf deserves everything coming to him

WaryHiker · 24/02/2026 05:10

I think he just looked tired in that picture. He had been arrested that morning and held and questioned for eight hours and was now lying back in the car to avoid being photographed. I think most people of his age would have looked exactly the same at that point. I definitely don't see signs of him being a broken man. But I guess we all see what we want to see, including me.

Carycach4 · 24/02/2026 05:13

Yes i do. He's been charged with nothing, and hated more than someone who killed 7 babies!

Skybunnee · 24/02/2026 07:07

He had his guns removed a few weeks ago in Dec , think that means you are a suicide risk -but there are other ways -that’ll get you all cheering from the rafters.

People generally don’t want him dead. They want him in jail to pay for his crimes.
