AIBU to think that people have become shameless, selfish and greedy?

I noticed the Asda Valentine's meal for two offer earlier this week: starter, main, two sides, pudding, and a bottle of wine, all for £12 quid. Amazing deal really and a nice idea for a night in together.

Went back today to get it... Absolute hoards round the fridge, loading their trollies with multiples meals worth, everything times five or six... scrambling for all the best dishes. By the times I got to the fridge there was hardly anything left.

Am I being unreasonable, or have people always been like this?? I'd be embarrassed to do that, but no-one seemed to care.

Asda had loads left last year and I bought one at a reduced price. It was so good I went the day after,and bought another. At least as good as M&S and cost much less. Looked today and there was little left and no dessert. I wonder if they didn't stock so many this year.

Sign of the economic times. When they do the yellow stickers at our supermarkets, there’s a great scramble. Who can blame folks when it’s £400 per month to feed a couple?

The funniest thing just happened to me. This thread convinced me I needed to go back & get another Asda Val Day deal. This morning they had tons of steaks. Maybe I could get those & the veg & put the rest in the freezer? Wrong. Only the heart ravioli, maybe 1 lasagne and 1 chicken & mushroom, & mashed potato left, nothing else. Decent range of puds.,

I went to the reduced sections & got 2 x tender stem broccoli, a bag of spinach, 10 eggs, 2 can openers, 1 iced cake and 4 mini bottles of wine (including Prosecco) for just over £10.

People create threads about buying the right bag to match their shoes. So what.

You can keep your steak and chips, the scallops, lemon tart and the rest of the Prosecco (though who drinks just a glass of it? As Flanders and Swann so memorably sang, "...once it's been opened, you know it won't keep") will do me!

The Tesco valentine meal deal was £20, so people might be less likely to stockpile. It had a starter and 2 sides.

We really enjoyed ours . Thought it was terrific value at £25 and cheaper than a night out.

I had an M&S mail deal. Had some vouchers saved. £25 and a really good deal. Had the Prosecco another day and had champers instead 🥂

People don’t only post about things that are “important” to them on here. There’s all sorts of random crap that gets their own thread.
OP obviously just wanted a little moan about it, something irked her and she got it off her chest.
And considering it’s something that actually happened in OP’s life, that’s a lot more understandable than the posters who get annoyed by someone else’s thread and start making accusations.

People have always been like that OP. Ask anybody who works in a food shop and has to do the yellow stickering…. It becomes absolute chaos and plenty of fights happen
