Seriously when are they going to ban men from nurseries? I don't care if some other innocent men have to find other jobs.

It makes me feel so sick, I can't even comprehend it.

Because women in nurseries never ever do anything bad 😒

You are absolutely ridiculous if you think it's anything LIKE on the same scale.

Take your apologist nonsense elsewhere.

When are nurseries going to start following their own safeguarding policies that if correctly carried out and observed would prevent most, if not all, acts of abuse perpetrated against the children in their care? No staff member should ever be alone with children, including (or especially) in toilets, yet policies and procedures are not followed correctly or consistently.

This.

No worker should have the opportunity to do this.

Those poor babies and their families.

MidnightPatrol · 09/02/2026 16:19

99% of sex offenders in UK prisons are male.

Statistically men are far, far more likely to commit certain crimes.

And statistical a woman is more likely to kill a child...

Not all crimes are sexual

Applecharlotte2 · 09/02/2026 16:25

When we are trying to move to a more equal society it would be a travesty to do this in my opinion

my step son is a brilliant nursery nurse

there are female staff that harm children too

Idontcareno · 09/02/2026 16:26

Absolutely despicable. I agree female only staff and the pay for nursery workers and any sort of childcare and teaching assistants should be massively increased with much better safeguarding procedures. Those poor children and I am sure many more out there being abused that doesn't get found out and reported. So awful. Sick world we live in.

Survivingnotthriving24 · 09/02/2026 16:20

Of course they do, but you're being deliberately obtuse here. The chances of males committing these abhorrent crimes are astronomically higher.

You only need to look at the current news to see how men behave given the opportunity when they think they have the means to get away with it.

But there are many other crimes that can be committed against babies and toddlers which have devastating effects

And they are just as, or more likely, to be committed by women

GreenIsTheColourOfMyHoliday · 09/02/2026 16:27

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/02/2026 16:22

They don't. Not like this.

Can we stop pretending that women are just as bad? We simply aren't.

Women are more likely to physically harm or kill a child

Why is the only risk people care about SA?

Idontcareno · 09/02/2026 16:27

Wish people would not come on these threads proclaiming that their so and so, son, uncle, cousin Nigel is such a lovely nursery nurse. So insensitive.

It’s insensitive to put all men in one group

GreenIsTheColourOfMyHoliday · 09/02/2026 16:29

Aliceisagooddog · 09/02/2026 16:20

Do you understand risk? The vast majority of nursery workers are women, yet in the last year alone there have been dozens of such cases. THE ONES WE ACTUALLY KNOW ABOUT!!
Men are inherently more of a risk to vulnerable groups.

Do YOU understand risk?

You can't just look at one specific risk and ignore the others

Whocares63 · 09/02/2026 16:29

But you never really know someone do you?

moondip · 09/02/2026 16:29

GreenIsTheColourOfMyHoliday · 09/02/2026 16:17

Because women in nurseries never ever do anything bad 😒

THAT is what you feel the need to say with regards to the original post and what it’s referring to…?

And statistical a woman is more likely to kill a child...

Not all crimes are sexual

Not true.

Statistically women are more likely to kill a child under the age of 1. Most often associated with postpartum mental health problems.

Men are still statistically more likely to murder a child,

MissAustenMadeAQuilt · 09/02/2026 16:30

Men have no business being in a nursery or infant school.

The answer is in our hands-certainly with the nursery-see a man working there and tell them you won't be using them and why.

They will soon get the message and by man, I mean any man including a man who says he is a woman,

Applecharlotte2 · 09/02/2026 16:30

FOJN · 09/02/2026 16:29

Not true.

Statistically women are more likely to kill a child under the age of 1. Most often associated with postpartum mental health problems.

Men are still statistically more likely to murder a child,

And families are again much more likely to harm children than anyone else

namely the parents

Applecharlotte2 · 09/02/2026 16:29

It’s insensitive to put all men in one group

Insensitive to men's feelings? I'd rather prioritise the welfare of children at risk of sexual assault and rape.

Ban women from working in nurseries!

(This is exactly what you've just done)

Yes I was thinking of her

Not again. There were two jailed at the end of 2025 as well. Thomas Waller and Vincent Chan.

Men are still statistically more likely to murder a child,

It's actually pretty close now I've looked

Neither is significantly more likely
