Am I having some kind of fever dream? Robert Jenrick

Am I having some kind of waking fever dream or was Robert Jenrick part of the Conservative governments he’s now busily accusing of failing Britain? It almost feels like gaslighting.

@MayaPinionYes, I remember that. Tried to remove painted cartoons from the walls of a centre for child refugees as it made it 'too welcoming'. Nasty bustard. I remember his wife's face when BadEnoch won too. Off to tangle with Nigel. I hope everyone keeps listening Sir Ed Daveys warning about Reforms plans to bring Trumps policies to UK and these failed humans are prevented from power.

Is Corbyn still labour?

He was expelled in 2024, and is now involved with that new Your Party with Zarah Sultana

TBF Nigel Farage is the one person in politics who has been consistent for 30 years. You may not like or agree with what he believes but at least he believes what he says.

I'm voting Conservative still I think. No one likes a snake. I think Kemi is OK. I just want Labour out. Not ideal scenario for voters though.

Wot, that 'Jenrick is a fraud. I've always thought so'? Grin

That was just a few months ago. So yep, totally consistent and definitely believes what he says.

Not sure we should though...Grin

Robert Jenrick joins Reform UK after being sacked by Conservatives - live updates

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, who sacked Jenrick as shadow justice secretary this morning, says he "is no longer my problem".

If you think that's weird I worked with him on the referendum when he was an ardent remainer and protege of Ken Clarke

December2025 · 15/01/2026 19:10

Sorry but I think he's quite attractive I thought that was your fever dream.

He's a bit of a twat IMO he's the MP for a close constituency to mine so he will be in great company with the reform party.

Well TBF I don't think he's joined Reform yet? Maybe he won't?.

Oh hang on...just seen your link....

MangaKanga · 15/01/2026 19:10

Reform my fucking ARSE!

It's stuffed to the gills with the EXACT same CUNTS who got us into this fucking mess!

The whole thing is hilarious! The events of today have amused me a lot

Reform have peaked.

Jenrick has always been a bit of a prick. Remember when he ordered the removal of cartoons from the wall of an asylum centre for unaccompanied child migrants because he thought they made the place ‘too welcoming’. Yes, he really is that much of a knobber. This defection to Reform is entirely in keeping with who he is.

There. I've corrected your comment 😜😜

Be interesting to see why you want Labour out and Tories in.

PoppySaidYesIKnow · 15/01/2026 19:20

It’s quite simple in my view, they know the tories don’t have a cat in hell’s chance of winning another election, they’re just jumping ship to the party they think (rightly or wrongly but likely) will win. Heaven help us all.

But apparently this evening Jenrick has "put his "personal ambition" aside."Grin

He's definitely a man of principle. Oh yes. His volte face has nothing to do with bungeeing to a new greasy pole after failing to climb the one he started on. Grin Perish the thought.

With Starmer and co making such a mess of government, Reform could easily hold the balance of seats in parliament, its a sad prspect .

Your Party always reminds me of Alan Partridge’s list of names for his new house Grin

Jenrick’s speech earlier was incoherent. ‘Migrants do low wage jobs, what use are they?’ vs ‘The wonderful people of Newark do low wage jobs, they are unsung heroes’. Make your mind up, ya bell!

I love it when people put their personal ambitions aside.

To pick up the ambitions later when circumstances dictate. Jenrick as Reform Chancellor?

George Osborne thinks this the start, not the end, of Tory drama.

explanationplease · 15/01/2026 19:31

So typical and classic Reform material. Surprised he didn’t join them earlier!

Hazlenuts2016 · 15/01/2026 19:36

@Pineneedlesincarpet but Farage has been massively critical of Jenrick and Nadhim in the past, with comments from a few years back been widely shared when he welcomed them into Reform.
And now conveniently he thinks they are great. Plus he said he would leave the UK if Brexit wasnt a success. Its been a complete disaster and he is still here. How is he consistent?

I think I might have shared a train carriage with your DH. A guy on my journey home called him the same thing.
