Schitts Creek Do Not Want GIF by CBC

Sit down, binge eat and watch, put your feet up, get the dildo out, whatever you need to do but gosh, don't go for a walk!

If you think i am being unreasonable, i am judging you 🥰

The ill prepared idiots who put mountain rescuers lives at risk need to be fined as well as judged harshly.

Yellowshirt · 28/12/2025 01:03

I had a lovely walk up Snowdon on Christmas Day.
I don't understand the excitement of Christmas unless you're a kid.

Hufflemuff · 28/12/2025 05:03

My DD is an only child and we go to my parents on Christmas Day. My DH and Dad end up asleep on the sofa after dinner and I couldn't just join them and leave DD to play with her things alone for 2 hours at my mums. So I'd rather get out for a quick 20 minutes walk so I dont fall asleep or just get mithered.

JMSA · 28/12/2025 05:12

I’ve hated forced walks since childhood. I’ll seldom go for a walk unless there is an actual reason to do so.

EleanorReally · 28/12/2025 05:43

i we had a nice christmas day walk, made sure i wished everybody happy christmas and then met them all on the way back
boxing day dm was watching some singing on itv and didnt want to leave it, although it was streamed she didnt realise that we could have paused it, hence ddog and i walked once with my dd and then once with dm after the singing show!

EleanorReally · 28/12/2025 05:44

oh and a boy dressed in christmas clothes riding his new bike was a heart warming sight

ChocolateCinderToffee · 28/12/2025 05:45

I go for a walk on Christmas Day so that I’ve got an appetite!

Cando6 · 28/12/2025 05:50

Does nobody else do the ‘spot the present’ game?
Once you’ve walked past you can say ‘scarf’, ‘dolly’, bobble hat’.
And sprout farts.

I have a five year old who is like a Labrador on crack so for my own sanity I need to get us out for a vigorous walk every day, Christmas included!

@DahlsChickenz I have one of those too 🫠 Also requires being outside for a walk or bike ride daily or my house ends up chaos 🤣

We love our Christmas Day walk 🤷🏻‍♀️ we live in a seaside town with a lovely long promenade that starts 5 mins from our house and has a swing park at either end of it so we walk there. Always bump into loads of friends and neighbours doing the same.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/12/2025 06:16

I went for a run, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Not sure the teens have left the house.

Mikart · 28/12/2025 06:17

We've done 6 mile walks every day since Xmas Eve. Glorious sunshine although 3 degrees and a biting wind.

EveryDayisFriday · 28/12/2025 06:24

The sun has been out so I've walked more than usual this week and it has been glorious. My mood has perked right up because of it.

CurlewKate · 28/12/2025 06:33

Personally, I save my harsh judging for users of split infinitives.🤣

I've heard of people going to the Jim. I wonder who he is as he seems to be a popular fellow.

😄😄😄 i guess its jim or the dildo

I think it really depends where you live (or visit on Christmas day). If going out for a walk means dodging wheely bins and pavement parkers it lands differently to being in trees and wildlife.

Tulipsriver · 28/12/2025 06:56

TerrierCharmer · 27/12/2025 22:55

I have a young terrier so if I want to relax, theee walks it is, Christmas or not. Besides, the Christmas dog walks are the best of the year because there’s hardly anyone else around to spoil it!

Where on earth do you live? Everyone is out with their dogs on Christmas Day here, silly hats and headbands galore.

ballroompink · 28/12/2025 06:58

Love Christmas walks! I don't like sitting around all day - I'd never get to sleep at night. Plus we have energetic DCs who need to get out.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 28/12/2025 07:04

I've been to the gym twice in two days and today I'm swimming. There is plenty of lounging as well but it makes it more fun as there is a balance. Everything in moderation, including lounging.

Ansjovis · 28/12/2025 07:11

Judge me all you like. I was out the door by 8am on Christmas day walking to my local parkrun, volunteered at that then walked home, then went for a run of my own. 18,000 steps in all. That's my version of enjoying the day so I'm sticking to it.

JustOnePersonNotAnOctopus · 28/12/2025 07:13

But what I want to do is go for a walk? What harm is it doing you? Absolutely none! Pipe down OP.

HoorayHattie · 27/12/2025 23:00

I miss seeing all the parents out with children with brand new bikes or dolls prams . . . . this used to be a regular sight on Christmas/Boxing Day when I was a child in the 1960's.

I say this every year to DH. You just miss that sight of seeing children out playing with toys like prams and bikes....

It's all gadgets now!

Justputsomeyoghurtonit · 28/12/2025 07:16

I fecking hate lounging. Am incapable.

YABVVVU op.

I'm just off to do a normal weights workout at home, think I'll go heavy today, I started the post Xmas healthy eating diet yesterday.

Getamoveon2024 · 28/12/2025 07:21

Like pps, we have dogs, so walk a minimum of 4 miles everyday, including Christmas. We have just moved here, specifically because we can walk straight out of the house and walk for hours without seeing anyone. It’s bliss and I love it.

AthenaWhite · 28/12/2025 07:22

Left at 6 yesterday so we could walk and watch the sunrise. Absolutely glorious. Came home and ate quality street and had a nap. It is all about the contrast.

We all get out New Year's Day morning to bring in the new year with exercise. Unlike my next door neighbours who aren't to be seen well into the afternoon as they're hungover....
