Schitts Creek Do Not Want GIF by CBC

Sit down, binge eat and watch, put your feet up, get the dildo out, whatever you need to do but gosh, don't go for a walk!

If you think i am being unreasonable, i am judging you 🥰

Don’t say that, I’m picking a terrier puppy up tomorrow 🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈🙈

Good luck!

Intothelight123 · 27/12/2025 23:32

We call it farting off our dinner. Not sure why? I guess maybe because of the sprouts, though I dont eat sprouts.

PeloMom · 27/12/2025 23:33

I didn’t go for a walk but played tennis 😱

I think I saw three other dog walkers total, and it was a lovely sunny (but cold) day. Maybe it was the times of day I went out.

I do the morning walk, so was out at 8am. I don't know how many people DH saw for the evening walk.

boogietrapps · 27/12/2025 23:33

I was like you, never understood Christmas walkers, until I did it. It’s lovely, it makes the day feel longer and everyone that you meet is in the Christmas spirit.

Eh? I walk after every meal all year round. Great for the digestive system and general health.

Don't you have to work?

Mysterian · 27/12/2025 23:34

Today was Saturday so Parkrun was at 9. Bit cool at around 1 or 2 degrees but once you started running it was fine.

Ok, I'll own up to being at the back and walking a third of the time, but I still went for 5k after a 3 month break.

XWKD · 27/12/2025 23:38

I've heard of people going to the Jim. I wonder who he is as he seems to be a popular fellow.

hididdlyho · 27/12/2025 23:42

I dunno, I'm the default dog walker in this house and was hoping DH would pick up the baton a bit whilst he's not working over Christmas. The reality is he's huffed and puffed about going on one short walk a day, so I'd rather just get the first walk of the day out the way early doors, than hoping he may help out. That way I can get walk no 2 (4 walks a day, with 2 dogs) done before sunset!

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 27/12/2025 23:45

I've started a course of steroids on Christmas Eve and have had 6 x 2 hour walks since then. I can't wait for my next one in the morning.

I've not felt this well in decades.

Feeling champion! As my DF used to say.

Waitingfordoggo · 27/12/2025 23:58

Sorry no, my mental and physical health aren’t happy if I sit indoors all day long. I have a physical job (fitness) and I did classes on Xmas Eve and today. Had Xmas and Boxing Day off, but I walked the dog both days on the beach- it was bitterly cold but beautiful sunshine and loads of people out.

But there are 48 hours in those two Bank Holidays- I walked the dog but spent the rest of the time loafing and eating. It’s possible to do both!

I haven’t left my house since Christmas Eve haha

Jealous!

ErrolTheDragon · 28/12/2025 00:01

yabu.
walking in the bright winter sun is lovely, and it also allows me to eat more without feeling bleugh.
And I get to meet other peoples dogs too.

Notthisagainyouidiot · 28/12/2025 00:05

Christmas day I still have to walk my exuberant dog. Although it was more of a begrudging trudge. I met one of my neighbours running! No sense of seasonal appropriate behaviour at all. She did yell merry Christmas as she powered past though

wannanamechange · 27/12/2025 23:26

I walk the dogs every day, but I hate it at this time because irritating groups of people are everywhere in bobble hats. It’s a mystery to me. Where do these people come from and why aren’t they out walking at other times of the year? Why do they all wear bobble hats?

They’re the ones who are escaping from houses with too many of their family at a time in them.
they’ve been given the bobble hats for Xmas.

CoubousAndTourmaIet · 28/12/2025 00:06

Long walks every day with the dog. Christmas Day was fairly quiet here, but Boxing Day was horrendously busy and all the antisocial dogs seemed to be out, yapping and snapping. Saturday was quiet again.
Didn't notice the bobble hat brigade so much as the very obvious new trainers.

covilha · 28/12/2025 00:20

What watch the telly? Did you see the rubbish they put on there?? And you wonder why we walk???

SouthernNights59 · 28/12/2025 00:31

Sitting inside all afternoon is my idea of hell - even in winter!

It's summer here, am I allowed to go for a Christmas Day walk?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 28/12/2025 00:35

I really enjoy a Christmas morning walk usually. Didn’t have one this year as I drove to my folks on the day but made up for it on the surrounding days!

PurpleSky300 · 28/12/2025 00:49

I absolutely agree with the poster who said they feel closer to the spiritual side of Christmas when they are out in nature. There is something about winter sunrises, frost, fog, snow etc which makes me feel alive instead of sluggish and tired which is how I feel in summer. Seeing that winter scenery makes me aware of mortality and how quickly the seasons change, and makes me hope there is something more (?). We have so little daylight in December, I always try to make the most of it.

Hohumhuee · 28/12/2025 00:53

I saw a couple out in hiking gear at 10am Christmas morning. I judged.

ZoeCM · 28/12/2025 00:55

I'd love to go for a walk on Christmas Day, but whenever I suggest it to my family they look at me as though I've sprouted an extra head.

suki1964 · 28/12/2025 00:59

Im no keep fit nutter, but I was so glad I got to take the dog out for a walk

Yeah it was cold, I dressed accordingly I got to see a beautiful sunset, broke as much wind as needed without a single complaint and enjoyed the chocolates that evening

Love a walk on Christmas Day

PyongyangKipperbang · 28/12/2025 00:59

The "Lovely Long Family Walk" is the physical version of the Massive Salad.

Nice idea but in reality usually ends up binned off in favour of something far less worthy.
