My husband wears the same jumper and jeans for 3 days in row ..

He sees nothing wrong with it at all and doesn’t understand my reasoning. I completely disagree. Obviously if his clothes are still clean then they can be worn again but I don’t think you can wear them again on several consecutive days. I’m embarrassed if we see people we know for two days in a row and he’s in the same outfit. I think it gives weird vibes like he can only afford one outfit. Just seems a bit studenty, and dirty. Am I being unreasonable??

YABU - what’s the problem? Are you embarrassed by what your DH wears??

YourWinter · 13/12/2025 18:41

Clean pants every day is all that matters to me!

andae · 13/12/2025 18:41

You’re being told you’re wrong a lot on this thread OP but I think it’s disgusting. People on mn don’t realise bacteria are microscopic. You’ve hit the “I only shower twice a week” brigade.

MissSkate · 13/12/2025 18:41

You'd hate me then, as I wear the same jeans for up to a week! Give em the sniff test, if they look and smell clean, I wear them. I've read somewhere that its not good to wash jeans too much

Sympathy. My DP is just the same. But he's now 75 years old (been together for 15 years) so there's no way I can change him. Just today I said to him that he really needed to change the teeshirt he's worn for a few days 🙄 and he replied 'yes I know'.

Edited

@HappyFace2025 This made me laugh so we need a picture of this 75 year old dog wearing a tee shirt.

That’s a very old dog you have. 😂

So do you wash every item of clothing after one use? That's ridiculous behaviour.

FullOfLemons · 13/12/2025 18:44

You are lucky ! His adoption of a capsule wardrobe should mean more space for your stuff.

He might however want to invest in a few pairs of identical jumpers and rotate them as they should last longer that way.

AhBiscuits · 13/12/2025 18:44

😂I wondered why I'd never seen them wandering around.

Pineapplewaves · 13/12/2025 18:44

I have worn my Christmas jumper several times this week, it’s still clean and doesn’t smell so I’ll keep wearing it until that changes. I’ve worn the same pair of joggers for four days now, again they aren’t dirty and don’t smell but I did iron them this morning. I couldn’t care less what other people think but I can honestly say that I wouldn’t notice or care if I saw someone wearing the same thing everyday for a week.

MagicStarrz · 13/12/2025 18:45

I wear jeans and jumpers more than once (I usually wear a vest or top under jumpers) but I don't want them on consecutive days if I'm seeing the same people

MagicStarrz · 13/12/2025 18:45

I don't think they'd notice the jeans, though, but top/jumper I'd change

If I’ve sat on public transport or something like that I would definitely wash my trousers, yes. I wouldn’t be leaving something I wear next to my crotch for a WEEK that’s for sure.

I think this thread dhows us why so many people smell bad these days.

You could probably see them on pp week old jeans with your naked eye tbh. Crawly.

Joeninety · 13/12/2025 18:48

''Obvs underpants, tee shirt and socks need changing daily''.........😱Do they, what, every day ?.

greengreyblue · 13/12/2025 18:48

Jeans and jumpers are not items to be washed after each wear. Jeans need to be worn in and jumpers( if decent wool/ blend) would be ruined by washing too often. I wear a clean vest too under jumpers and clean undies under my jeans! BTW other people won’t remember what he’s wearing as they have their own lives to think about. I can’t remember what anyone was wearing at work yesterday!

Do you not wear any underwear?

Love the posts where people see public transport as one step up from rolling around in dog poo in terms of the filth factor. You guys crack me up

Eyeshadow · 13/12/2025 18:49

Yes it’s fine.

I don’t wear the same clothes in a row but I’ll put them on a rack and wear them again without washing them.

Think that says more about your crotch-washing than anything else, tbh...

Owaala · 13/12/2025 18:50

And?

mumofoneAloneandwell · 13/12/2025 18:51

That was normal growing up for me

Still, he should be taking pride in his appearance and trying to reflect well on you, so yanbu to tell him to get some new clothes (as long as circumstances allow obvs)
