I remember during Covid how any government statistic that at first sight might have apparently showed that vaccines didn't work or were killing people en masse, or that Covid was less of a problem than previously thought, was hugely bigged up by the anti-lockdown agitators - "Look, the government admits it, it's right here, wake up sheeple!".
And then someone would patiently explain the fallacy that they had fallen into (e.g., yes, more people who died from Covid after vaccines came out were vaccinated than not, just as more people who die in car crashes are wearing seat belts than not, because of base rates), and they would either harrumph, or ignore you, or double down - it didn't really matter, they declared that they had either won, or "could of" won, anyway.
Meanwhile, any government statistic that showed that Covid was actually a big problem was dismissed as entirely fabricated, just more lies and machinations by Bill Gates/the WEF/George Soros as part of the New World Order. Heads I win, tails you lose. There is no point in arguing with these people because they are not interested in facts. Everything is part of the conspiracy, even us having this discussion here ("The 77th Brigade are on form today, I see, hur hur hur").
Either these people are extremely hard of thinking, or they are bots designed to wear rational argument down by just repeating bollocks until sane people give up.
