Bloody thing. It faints if it sees a speck of dust. The roller gets jammed if a corner paper goes into it. I'm either taking it apart and coaxing it back to life or I'm taking it apart and cursing it.

Earlier on it was sucking up dust only to regurgitate it elsewhere. Now it's being completely stripped down. I want to throw if off the roof just to see it smash to pieces.

Sure it can handle hair with its amazing comb ( no it F@king can't! ) but can it handle half a teaspoon of dust?

Most useless purchase ever and I have this ahole for years. I spend more time taking it apart than hoovering

Mine is the same. Gets clogged up so easily!

sanityisamyth · 16/09/2025 22:24

Shark Hoover? Is that like a Ford Skoda?

StillSittingInACornerIHaunt · 16/09/2025 22:24

Haha at calling your hoover an ahole 😂
Yanbu I have a shark too, mine is also an ahole.
It's got one job, to suck. It's crap at sucking. It sucks at sucking.

Morecoffeethanks · 16/09/2025 22:27

Ooh I had a Dyson like this it was so needy and work shy. I have a Samsung now- I would highly recommend it, no complaining it needs taking apart every 5 minutes and the battery life is far superior to the Dyson.

dryshampooer · 16/09/2025 22:28

My Shark is also a wanker. Anything bigger than a speck of dust just gets pushed around the room. If I want to actually hoover up a crumb I need to do a lift and reverse manoeuvre.

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 16/09/2025 22:28

Everything abouts design is stupid. The comb comes off but the roller doesn't so you can not get anything stuck behind the roller out.

Everything goes up the hose part even if your using it upright mode. The hose has a 350 bend in it. What isn't going to get stuck in such a tight bend?

It's like it's designed to clog up.

It's like they thought of everything but forgot it should also pick up dust

Glad it's not just me.

If I want to pick up dust I need to get the broom out or do CPR On that arsehole every two minutes.

It would be faster to relay a carpet every few days and easier

Mine is the same.

i went out and bought a Hetty corded vacuum a few days ago and my sanity has resumed 😄

Fleurdalys · 16/09/2025 22:35

I love mine 🫣
I empty it after every use and change/ clean filters regularly
I marvel about how much it picks up in the container 😊

😅 ah what's it called? A vacuum cleaner? How do you even spell that? I'm showing my regional roots No one here has time to pronounce anything that long. My hoover washing machine is fab ( sorry Hoover!) ( not sorry shark you bunch of arsehats)

Edited - confused routes and roots in my rage

And mine! It’s been banished and we’ve brought Hetty back in from her lonely exile in the garage.😁

I don't need to empty mine. No dust ever makes it into dust compartment. It's still on the floor.

What model is yours? Maybe mine is the first prototype that didn't make the cut.

Strawberrycreamcalzone · 16/09/2025 22:42

I hated mine.
I went back to my Miele. Yes it’s sometimes annoying to drag round as it’s a corded cylinder one but it’s so powerful with amazing suction.

jocktamsonsbairn · 16/09/2025 22:45

My Shark is the same, bloody waste of money as it putts past dust, occasionally making a revving noise which gets me excited thinking it’s working, only to deposit back on the carpet whatever it deigned to pick up earlier. Biggest waste of money ever. Along with the bloody Dyson. Wish I hadn’t given Henry to dd to take to uni as their halls one smelled of sick. Poor Henry.

Lucinda7 · 16/09/2025 22:46

I bought Hetty Extra 9 years ago (found the receipt recently). Best vacuum cleaner I've had and still going well. I've never had a Shark but it sounds really annoying!

justasking111 · 16/09/2025 22:47

My shark didn't like my long hair. Solution I took the silly roller off. It's brilliant with dog and cat hair, hard floor and carpet. But it runs on the mains. Learnt my lesson with a previous rechargeable Dyson.

martinisforeveryone · 16/09/2025 22:50

I have Henry downstairs and Charles upstairs. Absolutely no complaints 😉

Septemberchill · 16/09/2025 22:52

I lobbed my shark cordless into the wheelie bin. It was an excuse of a vacuum. Occasionally it had a go at sucking up a bit of dust, only to sick it all back up again when I switched it off
I now have a miele that I write love letters to on a weekly basis.

Mixingitup · 16/09/2025 22:56

I hate my shark cordless. Utter wank stick.

How do you do this? I need to know!? The main roller or the stupid pre roller, roller that gets the hair wound around it before the hair has a chance to meet the fancy hair comb - roller?

My Shark is great!

TwoLeggedGrooveMachine · 16/09/2025 22:58

Could have written this OP. I can't bring myself to bin the bastard. I keep hoping it will change. DH thinks I am mad. He buys ancient Dysons off e-bay (as they 'don't make them like they used to'). He shakes his head in frustration and pity at my efforts with the bastard Shark.

Same here, I really do marvel about the amount of stuff it picks up💖

Notsuchafattynow · 16/09/2025 23:02

Mine went in the bin.

Found it really hard to find a decent one and gave a Henry a punt after seeing it recommend on here.

It's amazing (if slightly annoying how it tipples over) but it's suction and ability to come with thick long hair, is the best I've seen before.

WonderingWanda · 16/09/2025 23:02

I have a shark cordless, it us utterly useless because that bendy bit in the middle just clogs up with stuff all the time. The anti hair wrap is useless too....no match for mine and dd's hair.

I have a corded dyson animal which I like a lot more but nothing will beat my original dyson upright. I don't like the holes on the end of the crevice tool, it ends up with stuff sticking on the outside of it.
