Bloody thing. It faints if it sees a speck of dust. The roller gets jammed if a corner paper goes into it. I'm either taking it apart and coaxing it back to life or I'm taking it apart and cursing it.

Earlier on it was sucking up dust only to regurgitate it elsewhere. Now it's being completely stripped down. I want to throw if off the roof just to see it smash to pieces.

Sure it can handle hair with its amazing comb ( no it F@king can't! ) but can it handle half a teaspoon of dust?

Most useless purchase ever and I have this ahole for years. I spend more time taking it apart than hoovering

I don't need to empty mine. No dust ever makes it into dust compartment. It's still on the floor.

What model is yours? Maybe mine is the first prototype that didn't make the cut.

No idea?
I got it free on a local fb site stating it was new but didn’t pick up?
wasn’t surprised after I took it apart, removed half a golden retriever, washed it and bought new filters
Good as new and fantastic suction

I hate my shark cordless. Utter wank stick.

Indeed.

Sad, sad excuse of a vacuum. Utter tosser. I might rename it to that.

Stick of misery and stealer of will to live.

Or clean. That's already pretty low.

AnotherCMSquery · 16/09/2025 23:05

Mine is the same, a rubber sweeping brush has changed my life though

Olderbutt · 16/09/2025 23:06

I gave up on bagless vacumns for ages and bought a Henry, best cleaner ever. Ive jyst bought a cordless upright version that still has a bag......so far.....truly excellent!

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 16/09/2025 22:58

How do you do this? I need to know!? The main roller or the stupid pre roller, roller that gets the hair wound around it before the hair has a chance to meet the fancy hair comb - roller?

That stupid pre roller. I think I went on a you tube tutorial to learn how to remove it. Either that or DH figured it out.

You've all reminded me I must clean the filters 🙈

TheCurious0range · 16/09/2025 23:09

Couldn't agree more mine is an absolute arse weasel.

It's actually the third in just over 5 years (warranty replacements), number 3 has given up the ghost but shark won't replace it, the warranty is from original date of purchase not supply of any replacements apparently. They actually said to me we would endlessly be supplying new vacuums, erm no you wouldn't if your product lasted 5 years!! When you buy something with a 5 year warranty you expect it to last 5 years. Ours isn't even heavily used, eufy goes round daily so the shark gets pulled out once a week for a full clean and to do the stairs.

On a different note does anyone have the cordless Henry quick pro? I loved our old Henry but he's cumbersome and our stairs are steep and narrow, he's just not cut out for it, so has been relegated to the shameful position of DIY hoover and lives in the loft. We had a Henry at uni in 2004-2006 that belonged to the landlady, someone had tippexed some names and 1987 on it and it was still going strong.

lazyarse123 · 16/09/2025 23:10

Haven't had a shark but Dyson are shit. Bought one and snapped one of the tools on the stairs and the hose split, only had it a month and I'm not that vigorous at cleaning. Changed it for a different model and that had the spitting out issue. Bought a bog standard panasonic that lasted years.

I've been looking at one of these! Is it as good as it looks? Do you have to attach it to the wall to charge?

I believe there's an attachment you can use on the dog. The advert demonstrates it on a golden retriever 😁😁

No need to attach it to the wall. So far so good, it's very powerful and so much cleaner with having the bag!

Fleurdalys · 16/09/2025 22:35

I love mine 🫣
I empty it after every use and change/ clean filters regularly
I marvel about how much it picks up in the container 😊

I love mine too it's a cordless self emptying one & it's really great!

LayerCakeOfStrangers · 16/09/2025 23:48

I love the thread title errors. It’s like reading Latin

I have a snowflake Shark as well OP. They want to get a grip. Literally

BlackCoffeeAndSugar · 16/09/2025 23:55

Mine was always great but has recently become an arse.

In it's defence I haven't cleaned the filter un forever

KnottyKnitting · 17/09/2025 00:00

I totally agree - hose is too short and the bloody thing falls over whenever it is pulled out. Cable is far too short. Three specks of dust and it needs emptying. My knees can’t cope with how heavy and unwieldy it is to manoeuvre. And I agree that their famed “hair wrap technology”is totally crap!

Mama2many73 · 17/09/2025 00:05

I bought one after all the rave reviews and recommendations from friends. I bloody hate it . It falls over if you look at it wrong, im constantly unclogging the bloody brush bar and like yourself will have it for yrs!

AllrightNowBaby · 17/09/2025 00:22

Strawberrycreamcalzone · 16/09/2025 22:42

I hated mine.
I went back to my Miele. Yes it’s sometimes annoying to drag round as it’s a corded cylinder one but it’s so powerful with amazing suction.

Ah Miele cylinder, King of suction.
Although you need the strength of Schwartsnegger to drag it around.
Had three lighter weight ones since but flimsy little things break and die on you.
Good job I never got rid of King Miele, he saves the day now and then.
Workmen here caused a bit of dust and asked for a vacuum, I handed them King Miele. They were both astounded and amazed at the strength of him and how he practically lifts the carpet.
So, he shall stay forever under the stairs ❤️

cocog · 17/09/2025 01:15

My house is only half clean because of the roomba on its lone quest. The shark won’t pick up a thing on hard floors which is 75% of house It’s heavy useless and I would have thrown it out if it wasn’t my 5th vacuum in 5 years have my eye on a bag less Miele 🙈

I have to agree with this. Upright, corded Shark - best vacuum cleaner we've ever had. Previous Vax and Dyson were both shite.
But you do have to keep the filters clean.

Sorry OP - a dissenting voice 😁

CharlotteCChapel · 17/09/2025 07:53

My sister recommended shark. It's crap. I have to get DS to unblock it regularly.

x2boys · 17/09/2025 08:01

I have one with a wand i hate it with a passion it's constantly getting clogged up
And the cord is ridiculously long and gets entangled with everything.

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/09/2025 08:06

I ditched my Shark in favour of a Hoover (an actual Hoover hoover!) - it was about half the price and not perfect, but still twice as good as the bloody Shark. I have a cordless Dyson for upstairs and it practically faints if it sees dust. Keeps flashing lights at me telling me the tube is blocked. No it bloody isn’t, you’re just shite!

blandana · 17/09/2025 08:11

My Shark was a pilo shit too. Henry Hoover actually sucks up dust and doesn’t need cleaning every time you use it.

Nannyfannybanny · 17/09/2025 08:11

I love the Ford joke,it gets on my nerves when people talk about hoovering, instead of vacuuming. Dyson are actually cyclonic cleaners. I had 3, an LG cylinder which I then gave to my DS. We had a cottage before, steep stairs,no way I was carrying an upright upstairs. It last 15 years. Various dogs,cats,3 Dyson uprights. Now have a shark pet, corded,it's 8 years old. Got a new foot motor FOC, from them. Tiny open plan bungalow,it lives on the wall behind the kitchen door. Filters washed monthly. My DKs now have them, uprights,ds is disabled and OCD,loves it.

I'm always surprised at the Dyson hate on Mumsnet. My cordless is great, five years old now. Customer service is excellent.
