Bloody thing. It faints if it sees a speck of dust. The roller gets jammed if a corner paper goes into it. I'm either taking it apart and coaxing it back to life or I'm taking it apart and cursing it.

Earlier on it was sucking up dust only to regurgitate it elsewhere. Now it's being completely stripped down. I want to throw if off the roof just to see it smash to pieces.

Sure it can handle hair with its amazing comb ( no it F@king can't! ) but can it handle half a teaspoon of dust?

Most useless purchase ever and I have this ahole for years. I spend more time taking it apart than hoovering

Mine is a bit annoying too. The least little thing and it goes into a frenzy. It was clogged up somewhere. Took the whole thing apart and couldn't get it back together. Did eventually after about 4 hours. My Henry was worse. Too cumbersome by half.

autienotnaughty · 19/09/2025 20:59

I convinced dh to get one and within 2 months I hated the fucker. It would suck bits up and regurgitate them else where. And the hair catcher was useless .
it broke 6 months in , I was so happy as it was still under warranty but would shark let is return it? No!! They insisted on sending a part out, 6 months later it broke again, they sent another part out. We had it 3 years and it broke 5/6 times. Absolutely useless . Inthe end we replaced him with a Henry, another drama queen but at least he’s reliable and can do the job.

justasking111 · 19/09/2025 21:15

My shark picks up Lego 🤣

tougholdbirdy · 19/09/2025 21:16

My Henry has just had his 21st birthday and still (noisily) going strong. There’s a reason why trades have Henry’s .

Chocolatecoveredshitpig · 19/09/2025 21:46

Am a cleaner. Sharks for me fall squarely into two camps:

  1. Cordless models - completely bloody useless, appalling suction, flimsy and rickety, dump most of what they’ve deigned to suck up all over the floor when you switch them off.

  2. Corded models - best vacuum cleaners in the world, mine practically sucks the pattern off the carpet. Brilliant for pet hair.

It’s a complete mystery how Shark can get the corded models so right and the cordless models so utterly wrong??!!

northernballer · 19/09/2025 21:52

I get on OK with my Shark but previously I did have a Dyson so anything on that is an improvement.

My Bosch heat pump tumble dryer on the other hand is an absolute cunt.

MathsMum3 · 19/09/2025 21:54

I love my Shark! Had a Dyson before, and the Shark is way better.

Cadenza12 · 19/09/2025 21:57

I was unclogging mine today. A small piece of cardboard had started it all but obviously I didn't know that at first. As I was doing it, I thought of the 20 year old cylinder in the cupboard that works better and is more reliable. The only benefit of the shark is that it's easier to get up the stairs.

sosorryimnotsorry · 19/09/2025 22:02

Corded sharks are brilliant! Brilliant vacuum cleaners around and their carpet cleaners are fab also.

Sharks cordless ones are not great however so I wouldn’t buy one of those.

Troubledwords · 20/09/2025 09:16

My corded Shark is absolutely useless I've a little handheld Black and Decker that does a better job!

Thatsnotmynamee · 25/09/2025 01:14

Why is this thread so funny to me? There's something about people describing Henry hoovers that just sets me off. Thanks all, you're helping to cheer my sleepless night 😂

Nannyfannybanny · 25/09/2025 13:08

People saying "Henry Hoover" sets me off as well, considering they are vacuum cleaners.

Oh no, I'm going to have to disagree. Corded Sharks aren't a patch on Miele or Sebo. They're fussy little buggers who block up at the tiniest Christmas tree needle, have a container the size of a dolls house tea cup and you have to wash those filthy filters. Bagged Sebo or Miele all the way here. I've no idea where everything goes but a bag lasts months and they're so much more powerful.

Theunamedcat · 25/09/2025 17:46

The corded upright one with the large cylinder is excellent

Anti hair wrap might work on very short hair, but absolutely useless for long hair.

I've got the larger lift away one, still useless.

Baggyit · 25/09/2025 19:12

My £500 Dyson half died just out of warranty.
It limps on.
I have my older model which I foolishly replaced, that is back up.
Like hell will i pay £££ again.
I have purchased an Aldi cordless on standby for when they both die.
Dyson sucks.

Not on the one we had, it needed emptying all the time. For comparison, the bags on our Miele and Sebo last for several months.

Plus life is far too short to ever have to wash a dirty filter.

janehopper · 25/09/2025 20:48

Our cordless Shark used to blow out dust half the time. It was horrendous. And then we had a dyson which was worse. We bought a Miele with a cord and it's just amazing, it actually sucks stuff up! Never going to get a cordless again.
