I’ve noticed I’ve got a favourite seat in the living room and it’s accumulated a few of my things on and around it like my handbag, sweets, book, medication (because it’s the only thing that helps me remember to take it) a couple of letters that I opened and haven’t put away yet and a pack of baby wipes.
Dh is watching the game just now and I’ve sat down in my spot and accidentally knocked my medication off the armrest. I turned to dh and said “ do you know what would be handy, a little table next to me so I can put all my bits and bobs on” 🤦🏻‍♀️ my life flashed before my eyes before the words finished leaving my mouth. I’m 41 by the way how has nobody told me about this monumental moment.

I went to a party on Saturday and was absolutely EXHAUSTED the next day.

Every time some new 'fad' hits social media, full stops 'etiquette' for example, it seems that the whole world is expected to fall in line with the self-appointed policing warriors, otherwise one is being offensive or even an 'ism'. I don't care what they think, I am not stopping being correct just to appease the bullies.

Yeah too right. Those full stop bullies just need to toughen up. Gen X don't care!!

The top of my arms ( by the armpits) and the inside of my thighs are starting to look a bit crap, I’m also starting to put on weight…I’m 50

Someone ten years younger than me was complaining how they feel/have got old now 😥

Much as I feel reading this thread from 40 year olds feeling old.
I recently realised that some of the first classes I ever taught could be in their 70s now, Sixth form classes when I was newly qualified, maybe 23 years old, and they were 17 or 18!

Oh yeah, drinking and partying these days is not something one does very often…..the recovery time is too long

Taking a picture of a label so that o can zoom in to read it. It

Me too! Finally caved in and bought my first ever reading glasses about a month ago. They make a lot of difference!

One of my secondary school teachers had taught a classmate's grandfather!

I went to a public toilet and needed a shit recently. Realised I no longer cared if anyone heard the trumping/ splashing noises as we all do it. In that moment I knew I was older than I think of myself.

Justwrong68 · 16/09/2025 14:22

I’m furious about everything

theres a few different colour's too, i chose the brown one. Worth every shilling 😂

That's a serious piece of kit. And so reasonable!

justasking111 · 16/09/2025 14:34

It's useful and cheap but if the charging bit goes kaput what then. Which is why I chose a rolling trolley with an independent charging station.

Both are very useful though

Stolengoat · 16/09/2025 14:53

I thought I was suffering with arthritis but apparently its early onset rigor mortis.

Id just unscrew the charger which has a 5ft extension cable and buy another one on amazon or ebay. They are cheap and easy to replace 😉 but fingers crossed it will last a long time

Sandinyourshoes · 16/09/2025 15:52

Multiple wees at nite
Unwanted hair ears, nose, chin
V efficient storage of belly fat ( unlike everything else that has become less efficient)
Cannot wear shorts in hot weather as legs like a road map of London
Getting called ma’am
Remembering the national anthem playing each night when tv finished about midnight, the white dot centre of screen, then a high pitched tone in case you’d fallen asleep.
edited to add, too many software updates as I’ve hardly got used to the one I’m using before it gets updated.

Donsyb · 16/09/2025 16:10

Back ache, foot ache and working in an office full of 20 somethings 😂

SurvivalInstinctsOfABakedPotato · 16/09/2025 17:36

Doesn't everyone keep their stuff on a table near their seat?!

I've done it since I was about 17!

FurForksSake · 16/09/2025 18:12

If anyone who’s feeling old uses a rollator and can give some advice on my thread in gener health I’d be very grateful…

Lifeinthepit · 16/09/2025 18:28

Worrying about eating an apple in case you break a tooth. Or any fruit really apart from bananas.

Not worrying about how perfect your make up looks, as you can't see it anyway without glasses on.

Thinking about what will happen if you get stuck in the bath due to a bad back and wondering about where you might install a hoist if you had to. (I'm 52).

RedRec · 16/09/2025 18:31

Went to the beach today and got cold, so agreed to taking a windbreak the next time we go. One of those stripey ones. I have resisted it thus far.

Titsywoo · 16/09/2025 19:05

I don't feel old at all but I feel like everyone around me is suddenly getting really old - parents getting serious health issues, friends getting health issues. Everyone was so healthy only 2 years ago!

People get far too offended these days about everything.

Um, but wasn’t she the one getting offended by people not using full stops? 😂

I haven't bothered with makeup for a while now! it used to be an improvement, but increasingly I just look like this 😬

I bought sketchers slip ins. I’m 42. In my defence I have two destroyed hips and degenerative disk disease in my spine.

I love the look of these! But why on earth are Myleene Klass and Jamie Redknapp advertising them? They're not exactly the target market, I wouldn't think!
